- I got a comment asking about my tuba range! So, here it is. My maximum range is from treble Bb (7 spaces below base clef staff) to high F (3 spaces above base clef staff). And my comfortable range is low F (4 lines below the staff) to high Bb (1 space above the staff).
Very interesting. Thank you.
Cool! It's good to hear that you've got quite a large range on the tuba in terms of high and low notes. I also play the tuba as well, though it's an Eb tuba rather than a Bb tuba. 🙂🎶👍
Nice work, ive got about pedal b flat to around high c personally, the real challenge comes when you have to play it fast and well.
just saying pedal Bb isnt the lowest, the lowest i have ever played is double pedal F
Pretty sure she said it's *her* lowest. Also, for practicality sake, you will never see anything with a double pedal F. That note probably couldn't permeate through an ensemble, and would therefore be useless. Literally, you can play an infinite range on a brass instrument, but that doesn't make the upper and lower extremities practical.
A couple wants their child to pursue a musical career later on and goes to the music club with them. "What can you recommend?" "Bassoon" "How long does the training last?" "6 years" "The father thinks too long" "And what else do you have?" "Trumpet, lasts 3 years" "And what else do you have ?" "Tuba". "And how long does the training last?" then the music teacher "Do you have anything else to do in town?" :-))
But I can understand what note your playing by hearing
My range as a 7th grade tuba player is from pedal note Bb to my high F above the staff
I don't understand this way of describing notes in US in Brazil We use Dó Ré Mi Fá Sol Lá Si
It's actually something that is standardized almost everywhere
