The group is INXS (sounds like "In-X-S" or in excess) and the lead singer was Michael Hutchence (RIP). He and the band were an absolute knockout live - saw them on the Kick! tour in Birmingham, AL- and Michael's charisma and onstage presence were off the charts!🔥🔥🔥🔥Another great artist and an amazing human being (from what I've seen and heard in documentaries about them) gone too soon. Fantastic reaction, my friend ☮❤

@@kwanshiyin I was in my first year at Auburn when I saw them in Birmingham, so 1987 or 1988; Ziggy Marley and his band were the opening act - incredible evening. It is a travesty of justice that they aren’t in the Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame yet! One of my favorite bands of all time I didn’t get to see them live before Michael’s death but I did see them in 2006, with JD Fortune. Even without Michael, it’s definitely in my top five concerts of all time. A lot of it has to do with how well the band members play off each other, just how comfortable they are together, how naturally they work together, and of course it’s because they really are a “Band of Brothers.” No one there sat down the entire show-everyone was on their feet, dancing and singing along. And they really put on one hell of a show, JD included.

Check out their tracks "NEW SENSATION", "SUICIDE BLONDE" and "NEVER TEAR US APART" - the lead singer Michael Hutchence (1960-1997 - R.I.P. ...) was THE (and the last...) Rock god of my generation.

The most popular 1980s band from Australia 🇦🇺.
This is from their bestselling album Kick. INXS ruled Australia in 1987. They also were played a lot in the USA, Canada and Europe in 1987.
Written by Michael Hutchence and Andrew Farriss. They were the Sir Mick Jagger and Keith Richards of Australia 🇦🇺.
Produced by Chris Thomas. He is more famous for producing albums for Elton John. 🇬🇧
    Suggested next video: Original Sin.

As an Aussie I gotta say that while Kylie was born here she has spent most of her life in the UK so she should probably be described as a UK local now... and that's fine with most Aussies too... It's not that we don't still appreciate what she's done with her career but she decided a long time ago where her heart lies and it's clearly not Down Under anymore.

@@sarablack2547 She'll have to work her butt off to lose that accent if she's inherited if she's coming back here 😆... we barely hear anything about her anymore and certainly most of Gen Z wouldn't even know who she is much less know that she is originally an Aussie girl unless mum and/or dad were fans of hers... Both my two are Gen Z and know who she is only because their mother was a fan once upon a time but Aussies in general I think really couldn't give a toss if she came back or not... she hasn't toured here often enough to keep her profile up and that signals to Aussies that she thinks she's too good for us... That won't wash here... Tall Poppy Syndrome is still alive and well in this sunburned country and she'll get roasted if she thinks she can waltz back in and say G'day like she still lives next door 😏

Great reaction, the only disappointment is that the person who asked for this didn't MAKE SURE you knew there's another song attached to this one called Mediate. They are a pair and should be watched together, so even if you don't react to it, please check out Need You Tonight/MEDIATE. You will dig it. INXS (in excess) were huge from the early 80s to 90s. They were known as one of the best live acts around of that day and for good reason! For more official videos you should react to Never Tear Us Apart, By My Side, Disappear, Suicide Blonde, Devil Inside for starters, but you really need to check this band out live at Wembley Stadium in 91. Look for What You Need, Suicide Blonde, Original Sin. Oh, and they were an Aussie band. Back in the 80s, we had 3 amazing bands from Australia. INXS, Midnight Oil and Men at Work. All are worth looking into.

Right. You have to do the version of this song that goes into Mediate. You are cheated when you don't.

The most surprising INXS song is MYSTIFY. I listened to that song SO DAMN MUCH in the 1990s.

I had a shirt with INXS on it with all the tour dates lined up front and back. I didn't realise how popular they were at the time because I had everybody begging and offering me money for the shirt. I didn't sell it but the shirt turned up missing. RIP Michael. I watched that very song on MTV and fell in love with the band right there.

He was one talented, sexy man. Lots of good INXS songs to check out. I always wish people would include "Mediate" in their reactions to this song. (That's the song it starts to go into when this video ends) It went right into it on the album, so it always feels unnatural when it's played on its own.

This band dominated the scene in Australia in the 80's and they single headedly killed Disco in Australia because they play dance rock. Dive into the deep end at watch "Live at Wembley Stadium 1991 "

Nice! Welcome to INXS. Offline, we recommend a tune of theirs... 'I send a Message' ...that does not get much face time, but is really good. For me. it is what the 80's were all about.

The band's frontman Michael "Hutch" Hutchence suffered brain damage as the result of an injury sustained when a taxi driver pushed him, he fell and his head hit the concrete.
It totally changed his personality and things became very tough the last years of his life. He is loved and sadly missed.

Michael had so much energy and charisma on stage, one of the best artists and songwriters to come out of Australia. He sadly struggled with depression, drugs and other troubles in his private life, and that ultimately resulted in him taking his own life in 1997, when he was only 37.
