My husband is Hawaiian (another Polynesian culture) those dances are so hard, the hand movements are so delicate and important. I would not have dared (but then I was 40, so...). But I did have my sister in law make hula tapes for me, the moves are quite similar - I am not as good as she, but I tried and that was for love of my husband and his culture, Good job!
