    You are a little star! I've got an old watch that isn't worth much but I love it. It would have cost me more to get the battery replaced than the value of the watch! I can just do it myself now thanks to you.

    Helpful! I googled "tw7c10200 battery replacement" and it brought me here. I couldn't figure out how to get the plastic cover out of the way (second watch, 7:41 , was essentially the same as my wife's). Thank you for doing all these watches in one video!

    WOW! Thank you so much, Vince! It was so easy, after looking at your video! It saved me a trip to the jeweler, and the cost at the jewelry store. All it cost, was the cost of a battery, which was definitely cheaper than at the Jewelers!

    On snap off backs, look for a small arrow point which the manufacturer put there to show the location of the pry point. I saw it on your first example and all the watches I have had with snap backs.

    I have a guess chrono. Snap back would not come off. I tried everything, and took it to a horologist, who said he would get it off using a guillotine. He tried but could not get it off. I got a screw driver, a small hammer, and whacked it. It came off. Put new battery in and tried to use the watch press tool, using a 50 die to protect the crystal. It would not go back on even with a 48 die. I got the dremel out and put some grooves in the back rim after removing the seal. No luck. I then dremelled the edges of the rim, to make it easier to seat. Despite spending some hours, I managed to get half of it in. I then put the glass face on my knee and got the hammer on the edge that would not go down. It seated ! I have opened a lot of watches but this snap on guess, was a horror !

    so how do i get the back off a watch that has no indentations which suggests it isn't a screw off back, and definitely dosent have a little gap type thing to pop it off...the watch dial has the name xinbao and its a quartz any ideas

    • @alexsiddall5710
      @alexsiddall5710 3 года назад

      Yeah I had the same thing, a Sekonda watch with no visible indentation. Turns out it is a snap-on back, I just had to keep trying until I managed to snap it off. I used a Stanley knife*, dangerous but the sharp blade managed to get a purchase on the edge of the back. Lots of trial and error but just kept at it till suddenly off it came. *Be very careful, a proper tool would be less dangerous

    The type wrench used to remove the back finer watches is called a spanner wrench, because it's usually hollow or U shaped to span the distance between two or more points. Also a common plumbing tool for tightening pipe fittings.

    Wow! None of those are my watch. Mine's an expransion band women's watch from TimeEX and is completely flat on the bottom. There's nothing to slide a tool under. Nothing to un-screw and no dention or holes along it. It's just a completely flat surface. How do I remove the back on one of those?

    • @joyceepperson5219
      @joyceepperson5219 4 года назад

      The flat back has a tiny flange that you pry up with a tool. They cost $2 on amazon or ebay, maybe a dollar store. A tiny screwdriver will work. You might need magnifying glasses. If you can’t snap the back on, cushion both sides of watch cover cover the back with a like sized coin and use a c clamp and turn the handle until it snaps the back in place.

However, over half this video is out of focus. I used a vernier caliper to open the back of the case of my watch. I've tried all the DIYs in trying to open the case. None worked for me. I used the outside jaws (not the smaller inner jaws) to grip onto the opposite notches. Tighten the jaws that they do not move, and twist anticlockwise to unscrew the case. The main scale provides the necessary leverage. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calipers#Vernier_caliper
