    It always amazes me how these types of people have absolutely no reaction when they lose access to their children, but as soon as the judge even starts mentioning the possibility of a sentence where they won't have access to drugs, they completely break down. Now suddenly the kids are the most important thing in the world, and they simply cannot live without being free, so they can get back to the -drugs- children.

      exactly. if weed supposedly isn't a big deal, then why is it so hard to stop? if drinking dr pepper was harmful to my child and i could go to prison for drinking dr pepper, it wouldn't be that hard for me to quit drinking dr pepper. i'd miss it, but i'd just stop drinking dr pepper. so why is weed different.

      Addiction be like that. People who work hard to maintain their sobriety know that if they relapse, they can go right back to putting their addiction above everything, even their children. It's a terrifying prospect - and a great motivator - that they know they can't control themselves in their active use, and how badly that hurts the people they love.

I hope for the sake of their child, they both can get their act together and stop blaming other people for the choices they make. The judge was spot on when she told them that they were there because of the choices that THEY made. Taking responsibility for your own individual actions/choices is what makes someone an adult. There are too many “aged children” walking around acting as if they are actual adults. Even more are having babies and expecting other people to take care of them. Such a shame!

They are both charged with the same thing, neither can pass a drug test, he's the primary breadwinner, so he goes to jail and she doesn't.?! You can even hear the difference in the judge's voice when she sentences them.

    • @justinafuchs2619
      @justinafuchs2619 Месяц назад +1

      The difference is he had several drug related charges before, and it doesn’t matter that they were „only“ misdemeanours.
      *That‘s* why she handled it different.
      And telling the judge „Well, I can’t do the 90 days program, I have to provide for my family“ doesn’t mean you don’t have to face the consequences for your actions.
      „Oh, you have a job? Understandable. Keep doing what you’re doing, have a nice day!“
      It’s not that hard to get, but I guess it’s easier for you to think „Arrrgh! Women!“ .. Grow up.

I know they say it isn't addictive, I disagree. I have students who can't deal with life without being high. Walking around high all day. How is this different than being drunk all day? It's not. It's pathetic. And the way people are normalizing it is worrisome. They don't do anything. They don't have thoughts about the future. They don't have thoughts about tomorrow. It's sad. It's more important than anything... but that isn't addiction? More important than their child.

I take other medications as well, but the weed helps in numerous ways. Being drunk is VERY different. I can’t believe you would even equate the two. When my mother in law was so sick she couldn’t eat, weed was the ONLY thing that gave her an appetite and she was able to heal. It’s this kind of attitude that keeps this amazing natural wonder out of reach for so many. Do some REAL research on the benefits of marijuana before you rip it to shreds because of a couple irresponsible, entitled, immature adults.

      I’m a critical care nurse, retired due to a severe disability. My family all died from complications from addictions. Pot is a gateway drug. I’m not saying it doesn’t have medicinal uses because it can be used and has efficacy in certain situations; HOWEVER, the marijuana purchased from a highly controlled dispensary is far different from buying it from a dealer. I use THC for severe pain management BUT I treat it with the same caution and respect I use opiates. And it is addictive! Anyone who says it isn’t has already killed off too many brain cells. And exposing your children is completely unacceptable.

I think the judge always knew she was going to jail the father and release the mother. She threatened the same for the mother for some shock value. This puts mother in a whole new role as she is the only one making decisions. I hope the jolt was enough that she takes the help being offered and turns it around
