Great video! I totally agree get yourself cheaper battiers with balance port on them and that charger you have is like 40 to 60 bucks and have lasted me along time. Ya it takes a little time and patience to use the aftermarket stuff but so worth it in the long run
John Gantner yeah the Traxxas ones are good for convenience but they cost too much and they’re prone to puffing and then they just quit working. Going with some cheap lipos makes the most sense.
I had to watch this one again. Great video. Sadly I haven't taken the mainencecon my batteries very serious either. I've never even gotten through sa full run on them. Out of frustration I've jus let them sit for about. a year now. I'm having an issue but I haven't figured out if it's heating up to fast or my batteries not staying charged for long.. I've still got some research to do. I'm a super noob to this Rc wold. I've already spent well over a grand between buying my Slash VXL w 2 3s lipos and the repair cost I. Parts because I wrecked it bad right from the start. Lol. I'm not giving up though. I an on a budget though so doing thing correctly the first time seem to be key with all these upgrade options. Thank you very much for thes great videos. I think I'm going to follow your ultimate basher upgrades and next I'm going to get a crawler so I've got something I can play with after I wreck my Slash. Lol
Incredibly informative video. Thank you for that. I've been wondering about this. Do you have any videos that detail the different connectors and how to sodder the battle to them?
@@darielhernandez6963 I think I understand what you’re saying…what I’m saying is the 2s pack doesn’t have a small red wire…it’s not ripped out…it never had one on the 2s lipo packs…the 3S and 4S packs have smaller wires coming from both terminals
Man lipo batteries are good for rc cars but the quality is bad. My third lipo gens ace battery in 2 years just destroyed 2 of the 4 cells. One of the cells is more than 5 volts and one of the cells went over 1 volt and these damages are from today. 70 euro battery destroyed and the charger doesn't charge the battery at all, doesn't accept storage, balance and discharging and this happens maybe of the cell that has over 1 volt of charging and the other has over 5 volts. I haven't play a lot of times and i have done very small jumps. Lipo batteries offer a lot of power but their quality degrades very fast. I have them all the time in storage mode and and i use stock gearing in my rc cars and still they breake one of the cells every few months. The technology of the li-po batteries need changing to better quality and i don't know when we see this change. The problem is always the money i don't care if they breake but the problem is the money.
I agree with that…I’ve probably had over 30 lipos go bad on me….usually one cell quits taking a charge and get super low on voltage…it’s definitely a common issue with Lipo batteries….it seems pretty common across most brands too
The cell rating of today's batteries are not what they claim they are. Traxxes batteries on the lipo side use cheap, crappy cells. 25c rate? What car or truck takes that? My slash traxxes running stock gears takes at least 40c. The cheap packs from other manufacturers hold up better, mainly the discharge rate is higher.

Yeah keeping the batteries stored properly will definitely make them last a lot longer……hope you enjoy the Ultimate Basher Build 👍😉

Thanks! No I don’t unfortunately
What generic chargers do you recommend? And do they make adapters from trx to the yellow ones? I can't remember number the name of the connector.
I run TRX connectors….I like HRB and HOOVO packs
Can you charge a 3s battery with the ez peak live
Yeah
Thanks
Will this hook up to stock stampede I know I need battery conversion ? Kit for Lipo right what about the stock connectors?
Yes this will hook right up to a Stampede. Brushed or Brushless as longs as it has a TRX plug or Traxxas ID plug
Just make sure lipo mode is on and it’s 2s for brushed stock or 3s max for stock vxl
Hello RC knockout, I notice on one of the 2 cell Traxxas lipo positive cable is ripped out, this may be the reason why it won't be identified.
I could be wrong but the 2s ones don’t have a wire coming off the positive side of the connector…just the negative side has a smaller wire…
@@RCKnockout sorry if I didnt specify but, the balance cabes that help the lipo charge evenly is ripped out, so sorry if I confused you.

I agree the Traxxas batteries aren’t very good
