You make good videos man. Keep doing what you are doing. It is so useful to have someone pass on the knowledge as they learn it instead of someone who learnt this orginaily years ago and can't remember how important some of the smaller details are.
Great videos! I'm putting together a "quarantine boredom killer" kit for my nephews (10y/o-twins and a 13y/o) with some of my older whoops, a toothpick, my first eachine goggles, and a couple radios, along with a box of wine for my sister's sanity..lol. I'm having them watch certain videos before each time they use the quads, and certain skills they must preform before they can go to next step. I'm now going to include several of your videos for their course study, thanks for making them easy to understand for all ages yet very relevant and straight to the point, bravo!
Oh yeah, I wanted to throw in my 2cents on this video. I agree totally with the Lumenier batteries, I have a few and they're great, but a little pricey for my budget, my go to battery, and the ones I have the most of are, Tattu brand. Three reasons.. #1 They almost always test well on review videos like JB and others do, and I am rarely disappointed by their performance. #2. While they are not the most inexpensive, they are usually at or below the mid-range price point making them pretty affordable for the average hobbyist. #3. At almost ever cells size/mah combination Tattu makes, they are almost always the lightest battery I can find for the particular combo, and I will look at lots of batteries when I am worried about weight. So not the best you can buy, but reliable, affordable and light are the reasons I love them. Cheers!
You just have all the answers to my questions man! Every question I’ve typed in YT about drones your video pop up. Love it and thank you! Subscribed!!!
Haha everything I know is thanks to the "fpv geeks". There's just so much to learn though and I want to make starting out in the hobby a little bit easier for people and make the info a little more accessible. I'm glad you liked it. New video coming tomorrow!
Great basic and important information. That was a nice homemade transition at 4:42, ie spinning the battery into focus from reverse. Nice switch from the norm. I was hoping to see you spin it out of the scene too!
Hi, I've been thinking of getting into FPV drones lately and I really appreciate all the info you've shared on youtube. I really wish there was something similar back in the day when I first got into RC Helicopters ... someone like you would've saved me loads of cash that went down the drain through unscheduled experiments with different components. Thanks!!
Thankyou very much Matt, I was looking for all the information on technical jargons used fir a battery. Found it all here😊😊😊 I am about to start a project on electric paramotor, so।need lots of knowledge on motor power, ESC and batteries to sustain at least 60+ mims flight duration.😊
sooo underrated, i really wish I found your channel sooner, would have been a tonne more confident and probably would've started off better, you and Kabab FPV are honestly the best for a new pilot to find.
JB has a spreadsheet where he tested a lot of batteries. This should give an idea of the relative performance of batteries. If you look at it you will also see why you should probably ignore c ratings almost completely except to see if the battery is designed to be used with a quad. Also great video series would have loved to have this for a nice overview of things to know when i started.
Matt thanks for content you are the best explaining things to begginers. I have a problem with my flight time and want to know if you have a recomendation. My battery voltage drops from 4.2 to 3.8 in like 10 seconds, in 4 different batteries, any ideas of what would be causing this? I have a cinelog 35 v2 with o3 and runing cnhl batteries
@@MattPochwat, I from this video I found your are Canadian or you are located in Canada. For that I asked you. I am in Canada too. By the way, thanks for fast reply.
Thanks for the video. I'm completely new to drones, and knew really nothing about batteries, lol. I do have a question though, so I'm looking for a lipo that can power a drone that I'm building. It's going to be a party heavy drone, and definitely not a racing drone, but more of a long-distance drone. Any suggestions?
Hi, i have a 1300 mah battery and it is rated 30 C. Which means it can provide 39 A of continuous current. But i am using a 50 A esc and my brushless motor only draws 17 Amps maximum. Am i safe to use this setup? and as the esc has higher amp, will it draw 50a from the battery or will it only draw how much current the motor needs (Which is 17A)?
I am just getting started with FPV drones. I made a newbie mistake and was wondering if you could answer a couple questions. I purchased the ISDT 608AC for my first charger thinking I'll get the more expensive Hobbymate Duo Pro as my needs grow. I then bought the Radiomaster TX16S for my first radio. I ordered what I thought was the matching LiPO battery for the radio - RDQ 3000mah 5C 2S 7.4V but found it has an XT30 connector on it. First question - can I just buy an XT30 to XT60 adapter to use it on the charger? The ISDT 608AC has an XT60 male plug for the battery. My second question is which batteries are you using in your radio and why?
Hey Bill, yea you can get an xt30 to xt60 adaptor for it. You should also be able to plug your controller in with a USB-C cable and just internally charge it without a charger. It takes a long time but it works. I use 18650 lithium ion batteries. They also work with the internal charging on the tx16s. I guess they're also smaller and lighter for their capacity.
Hello Matt, I'd like to ask you about flying time on your 4S drone with those CNHL packs (Nazgul5 v2 + Gopro 7 black + Tattu 1550mah 100C/GnB 1500mah 100C - this is ma setup) is those lipos are that good? My flying time is about 4min. What about you?
Sir I want to become rc plane having 2kg weight I will use edf 70mm- 6s motor then tell me which is suitable battery for this rc plane mAh??? C??? Please reply me sir I request you
Matt, so many RUclips’s bring up battery fires, it makes me not want to get involve, not worth my house do fire put proof storage bags real protect from fire bursting out.
you know, I do appreciate what you're doing and all but there are some things and mostly they're minor but it was something that you just got way wrong. I mean yeah don't get me wrong there's a lot of people that buy a lumineer batteries but I wouldn't say that there anywhere near the majority purchased battery. (Just as an example) hell, I'd even go as far as saying that saying that they got a couple of them that are more of a majority being purchased battery than they are. There's multiple reasons for that. One; price IS indeed regularly excessive for their batteries. not to mention the lingo that they use on some of their batteries is at best misleading, and at worst just a total lie.

Very informative, and in a language thats easy to understand 👍
Thanks for making all this information understandable 🤟🏼

Very good imformation for the masses that are new to FPV like me lol
thanks for answering all my fpv questions as I get into this! I just subscribed after watching like 6 of your videos in the last week :)
Excellent explanation! Thank you!
Matt, I purchased a 4s 5” quad, as a begginer it was recommended to me to us 3S at the same mAH as the 4s .
