I love how they integrated the ability to charge any type of lipo and not limited to only using Traxxas products. They make it so user friendly and make the RC world less of a hassle and more of a hobby
And people still complain about being ripped off with the price and the quality when they literally have the best user experience on the market. There is no other lipo charger in the market that is plug and charge, you always have to mess with balance wires, setup battery type, choose mah, ugh.
I love the traxxas charger. I bought the dual live charger. I don't have traxxas batteries. It works great on non traxxas batteries. Once it's set up it's so so simple. I'm so glad I bought it.
Just two things, unless I missed it, what is the ‘High Output’ switch used for? And secondly, more of a opinion, for the money you pay for a Traxxas charger, it should have a LED screen with the battery checker inbuilt!!! I have a XMAXX and to buy 2 x 6700mah batteries and a dual charger, you don’t have much change out of $1000!! I’m currently using a Turnigy charger, it takes forever to charge but it does everything the Traxxas charger does plus has the battery volt checker inbuilt. Love the Traxxas stuff but I’m still not convinced to spend that much coin on two batteries and a charger.
Thats traxx battery i just bought one do we leave the plastic thats surrounding it on or take it off. It seems like if we leave it on it would melt but if we take it off the batteries wont hold together?

why can't you run a lipo battery in a brushed motor slash??? Traxxas says you can if you set the ESC to "low voltage protection" or what I like to call "lipo mode" ....Been using lipo for about a month without issue.
I’m slowly doing the same. And I’ve been in the hobby a long time. But I have this, and that, and charge cords, and adapters, and batteries and I was just getting tired of that. Because I’m very busy in my life, when I do get the time to enjoy the rc hobby now days I want it to be easy and fun. Also Traxxas just plain and simple around here has the best parts support you can get. 🇨🇦
Hi thanks for the great video! Quick? When I plug in my 4s 6700 and start it charges at 13.4 on balance charge. Should I manually set it to 6.7 ? Or keep the factory settings and let it charge at 13.4? I just always charge at 1c not use to it charging so fast.
I noticed this as well and my batteries shit out fairly fast compared to others. C'mon traxxis. Its like its setup to fail you. Need new batteries now. Id recommend manually setting it to 6.7.
Not sure about the Traxxas lipos but the NiMH seem pretty trash I bought an f150 raptor from you guys on the weekend battery caught fire this morning after 5 mins of running I'm just glad no damage was done to the actual car

Wouldn't know cause I convert my batteries. You'll get locked into a Traxxas charger, they don't sell the connectors or even an adapter. Trying to save you by forcing you into their charger is BS. This isn't a kids toy, unsupervised these things could kill someone.
Yeah you won't regret it until you deplete a battery and now you can't charge your $80.00 battery because there's not enough voltage for the charger to recognize your battery and now it refuses to charge it so there's $80.00 down the drain.
Thats is simply not true. If you get the lipo so low that this charger or any charger doesn’t charge it, 1st that’s entirely user error, and 2nd the lipo is probably done. I have had lipos that I left plugged in, that got down to 2v per cell and this charger was able to save them just charging them as usual.
Traxxas is nothing like Apple if they were they would make it so you wouldn't be able to change anything in terms of parts and there would not be any form of diagrams or replacement parts and if you did get replacement parts they would not work when you tried to hook them up even if they were original and they would also make their vehicles just not usable at a certain point like apples doing with the iPhone 6 you literally cannot register that thing if you buy a new one it literally tells you devices too old you can't set up an account or set this phone up I really hate Apple cuz they do so much stuff to make it really hard to repair your devices and I do not like that you don't have freedom when it comes to the software like Android does
Traxxas battery charges too expensive. They are up to four times the price of other of other Quality Batteries. Traxxas LiPO batteries have a low C rating of only 25. I prefer a c rating of at least 50. Traxxas should lower the price of their batteries if they want people to buy their product. I for one will never buy a Traxxas battery as long as the price remains so high. I have been in this hobby over 40 years and I know what I am doing. So the Simplicity Factor does not matter to me. Enough said
Well, a lot of people do buy them, I did, and Im not going back. They are very high quality lipos, with honest and tested C rating, which is something that can’t be said of these 1/4 price lipos you talk about. Have been using them for 2 years and they are awesome, highly recommended.

10 or 12 years ago, I bought a charger called the “swallow 2 ac/dc charger discharger”
still use it to this day. No issues.

So is it necessary to set the charge current through the app every time you charge a battery or will the charger automatically set that rate for you?
The charger does everything automatically, you only have to press the start button. The app is an extra for more nerdy users that want to check stats.
This is the reason I’ve gone all traxxas,it’s so much easier
