That would make a awesome worktop for a pc table great video
Thanks Ash 👍🏼 it really wood! 😉
Is the table topps dried, and ready for Oil?looking to buy same exact setup for milling.Looks like Pretty strait forward😊
Yeah it is pretty strait forward. They have been drying since and nearly there. Ready for all once finished.
@@MachineryNation Thanks for the Response:)
Amazing work! I can only imagine how heavy those slabs are!
Where's big boy Josh when you need him huh.
Nice oak planks there James, Lars did a good job of it. 🙂👍
Nice bit of oak there. Looks good. It may have been the way it was filmed but it looked like he was milling going upwards rather than downwards. Could have been camera angle, but milling on a downward slope is always easiest. 👍
Thanks, yeah it was level where we were milling. Great advice though, let gravity do the work haha 👍🏼
looks nice James. I'm happy you made some nice boards. 👍
Great video Lars and James, always love seeing an 881 in its natural environment. Cheers!
Thank You Garrett 🤩
Now that is a nice bit of oak James, that sawmill is a great bit of kit well done 👍
Thanks Nev, yes it’s a great bit of kit 👍🏼
Nice One James & Lars Thanks again
Thank you Darran 😎
What are all the parts that I need, I have the 881 too.
Why use the ladder for the second cut?
How long does each cut take?
How thick are those slabs ?
Lars you are right that wood is worth so much more now oh my !!! Nice bit of work James just curious how do you keep it level at the end of the cut ?
Thanks Bill, Lars is a wise lad for 18 👍🏼 the mill allows you to keep it level as sticks out 8 inches each side.
Love it! 👍🏻 the sawmill is nice and works Fine with the 881 and 880. I dont know und if my Dolmar 9100 would fit it.
Great video that was some saw absolutely massive thattimber worth a few quid
Yeah it was awesome to have a go with 👍🏼 thanks H
Milling is the future!!! 😎👍🌳🌳🌳
You would know haha, thanks man 👍🏼
Nice Viedeo, how much time did you need for one cut?
About 8-10 mins per slab 👍🏼
Love the content
Thank you Matthew 🤩
Loving it, maybe turn one into a giant wall hanging with Machinery Nation cut into it with a router, all featured in another video 😁
I run a 64 inch low pro chain on my 881 milling setup
Never used a mill but they are a great bit of kit. How did you not use a battery saw ? 😁😁
Well if you had taken the first cut off properly, by finding centre of log on both ends, and sitting ladder on a plate at each end that is higher at one end to get the top level. Cut that off, then the surface is level. then you wouldn't use the ladder again, the surface of the log would be adequate and level.
A winch would help also. Saves all that chainsaw movement .Slow and even steady cut as hand winch pulls the saw through
Nice! Maybe whack some ratchet straps on em. ✌️😊
Thanks Tony. What would the ratchet straps do please?
@@MachineryNation just keeps em nice n flat…tho I think you’ll soon sell them. I could definitely use them, I make stuff for country parks, but I think Devon is too far alas. Nice slabs tho 😋
@@spitNsawdust ideal, thanks for the tip. What do you recon they are worth?
@@MachineryNation 200-250 mark, easy, I’d say. Maybe look up what the cubic meter is worth at the moment, not sure if it’s English or American Oak, American has a more open grain, so English is best…naturally 😉👍👍 do get them straps on em tho, no one wants to work with twisted stuff.
@@spitNsawdust I'd get some old paint on to the end grain as well, 👍💪🪓🌲🇮🇪🇮🇪

those slabs need to be made into something .. lovely wood. Amazing pile of sawdust
Yes, I have other videos where we will use them for projects 🤩
@@MachineryNation will look out for that ! TY
