    awesome cover, vinnie did the original I think, and u sounded as good. Do you mix your own drum sound, or leave it to someone else?

    People these days, can't conceive how different creating is for interpreting. It's like implying differential calculus is easy because a lot of people can slugtheir way trough it, but didnt think about the fact Issaac Newton just created it one day. Tool created masterpieces which has often profound structures and meanings. You can play a tool song?k, i mean who cant? i can play chopin too! But can you give this song justice, or just play the notes? You need a mathematical yet creative mind.

    @1175joel Wilkenfeld began playing guitar at age 14. 2.5 years later she switched to electric bass. By age 18 she already had an endorsement. Now that is lightning fast progression. Honestly, I've never heard anything like it. I'd love to hear the real story behind these early days. The facts are in the pudding. This really happened that fast. She was making a name for herself by age 18 and she picked up her first guitar at age 14.

    I'd pay money to see Wella and Tal play together. I'd pay more money to see Wella and Meytal do a drum-off. I'd pay even more money than THAT to see Wella and Meytal do a drum-off playing along with Tal. With so much estrogen-driven drumming and bass playing talented in the same video, I just might pass-out or throw-up.... or.... do something else that men do.

    @cjonesufc Totally agree. Meytal is not making videos where she's playing intense, complex, polyrhythmic patterns. Meytal plays relatively simple, straight ahead rock songs that are not exactly difficult for most drummers (who don't totally suck) to do. Meytal is talented, but Emmanuelle is on a whole other level.

    When humans stop comparing to each other, to accept & respect oneself by who one is and what one has to offer, and understands, respect the fact that each individual has an own, unique and personal aportation to give to the huge pool of the humankind called "creativeness", in that moment, we will truly understand what a re-evolution means.

    @McYaballow I think what we need to realize is that both musicians are in fact talented in different ways. It all depends on what you like to vibe to. I'm subscribed to both of these people, and it's because they're both awesome and skilled, in their OWN ways. People have to stop comparing apples to oranges and just agree that fruit is good for you. Ya dig?

    @ranierypontes How did Tal Wilkenfeld learn to play in just three years? Not only did she do that but she was playing with some pretty big names by 4 years in. I've never heard of anyone having the kind of quick success as Tal Wilkenfeld has. She mastered the damn thing in three quick years.

  • @i4ninv
    @i4ninv 12 лет назад

    Damn whoever is tuning and placing the mics on those drums should post a tutorial (wouldn't surprise me if it were all in Emmanuelle's bag of tricks). Great ring. snap and bigness- and no tape hoops or bs on the heads. Way to go!

  • @marcorodamien
    @marcorodamien 12 лет назад

    @MikePostDrums no i say meytal cant even play rush, and the fact you cant see the diffrence betwen amateur like meytal and pro is enough to see how much you drum. lololol if meytal was a boy nobody take time to talk about him.

  • @marcorodamien
    @marcorodamien 12 лет назад

    @Kudan26 why i consider maytal like a amateur drummer ( playing easy pop rock cover ) and emmanuelle like a real pro with great talent and tech. playing real drumer song and easy one ? well i have my answer in my question.

  • @rancidfx999
    @rancidfx999 12 лет назад

    Meytal's whatever. I bet Emmanuelle can actually read and understand music. I feel like meytal is just there to promote her gay cymbals and play music that will appeal to other people. This shit here is some grooves fa shooooo.

  • @marcorodamien
    @marcorodamien 12 лет назад

    @marcorodamien and yes tool are easy to play. a lot of amateur can play tool. i see meytal play song from rush. and she play just 3/4 of the song !!! why ? play all or not but dont just drum easy part.

  • @camiloarrubla
    @camiloarrubla 12 лет назад

    I have seen both Emmanuelle and Meytal playing. Emmanuelle is by far a better drummer. She has technique, accuracy and that particular something that makes a person behind a drum set a DRUMMER: PROFESIONALISM.

  • @paqman78

    Amazing drumming, but come on - let's give some credit to the ladies who created the backing track as well! I havent heard a backing track that amazing in all the years I've been watching youtube videos!

    god stuff.now i could go ahead and praise u coz of the fact that ur a women and that ur good.fuck that.im gona treat u like any other person playing this song. twas good.but what would make it even better would be more control of your ghost notes (: one thing that always helps is tilting ya snare a little more flat coz then u get more natural rebound intead of forcing out ghost notes like u were kind of doing. anywho just sayin (: good stuff though tals awesome!

    @samfallswell I've been playing drums for almost 30 years. I play metal, not so much fusion, but I play metal, jazz, rock, and have played percussion in orchestras too. Meytal plays very well, I never said she did not, but Ella is more musical with her playing and I happen to love the linear patterns with ghost notes and the quick riffs that she plays in these types of contemporary jazz pieces. There's much more nuance to Ella's style of playing. Its not just a basic beat with fills and rolls.

  • @ziiofswe
    @ziiofswe 12 лет назад

    Excellent as always!
    PS. I watched some of your earlier vids, and you sounded just as good, but you were much more concentrated. In your later vids you're relaxed and smiling and you still play fantastic.
    PPS. Oh, and great sound as always, that does a lot for the experience. Is that Evans EC2 SST heads? Seen them in several 'tube vids lately and they've all sounded good. Seems to be the next investment for me... :P
    PPPS. Like your hair! ;)

    Meytal's bio states that she started playing drums at 18 and then did the one year program at the LA music academy. Emmanuelle started playing snare at 9, played in a marching band for 8 years, taking part in competitions, before enrolling in the three year program at Drummondville College. Playing rock drums requires a natural feel for manipulating 4/4 rhythms which Meytal can do. Emmanuelle's playing is based on a natural feel for manipulating polyrhythms (4/4 over 3/4) and alternating meters (5/4 and 7/4) - plus many years of practice.
