We received the counter offer email the other day as well. We bid maximum for an interior YC room and the counter was for a balcony YC for only $10 more, so we accepted it. I actually hit the accept button before realizing it was for the balcony room!

Love your channel. We did the Explora 1 a few months ago. LOVED it! Best food (even better than Oceania) we've had. Easily the best buffet we've ever had at sea. More pools/hot tubs than the NCL Prima we sailed on the week prior (with 3x the max capacity), beautiful spaces, and the rooms were incredible! Yes, you'll spend about $1K per day (sometimes less) for two people but the value is exceptional. We haven't done our review yet but have room and ship tours already up. We look forward to your review when you on on board! We already are booked on the Explora 2!

You’re right about YC being a great bargain! We sailed in the Haven on NCL…it was over $6000 for the two of us. We’ll never do that again…no where near the experience you get with YC.
💯agree! Yacht Club is so unique in the world of cruising… most folks think of it like Haven, buts it’s so much more!
I really don't know if I need that much pampering. LoL I think I am fine with YC. I would probably go on HAL before I would Explora.
And I am right there with Chris on the whole "No touching the back" thing! LoL

Yea, the Waffle House coffee mug is back. I laugh so much when Chris says something off the wall and Beth looks terrified about what Chris will say next. I looked at the ports they go to, some amazing ones in their itineraries

I haven’t tried to bid but I have been clicking the link on the upgrade e-mail. I have noticed the starting bid price slowly going down the closer it gets to the cruise.

That’s so very funny you say that… I watched them growing up but Chris absolutely loved them! He lived there too from the age of 7 and went to some of the live shows. He has Aunt Maude’s book on our bookshelf 🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪

are you sure the upgrade is not a typo so it should have been $1, 800 pp. if they originally asked $ 2000 !?
So my original bid was $965 per person and then they countered with $870 per person. Just surprised that they offered lower 🤔🤔🤔
Does it accrue points in Voyagers club, or do they have a different club?
As with most things on MSC, it’s a little confusing. It appears that Explora is not part of the Voyagers program, but might be in the future… and might retroactively assign points from past Explora cruises too. MIGHT is the key word there. 🤷
Can the counter offer be for a YC Interior vs YC Balcony?
Well, we bid on an interior to begin with, so we still can’t figure out that “counter-offer”. 🤪🤷🤪
It says, "if available". So, does that mean you don't get it unless it's available at the time of sailing? So, instead of paying $965 for a "done deal", you are basically on standby for $875? I mean...sounds viable. lol
That’s what I thought at first but looking closer it seems like if I accepted as soon as I got the email I would have gotten it but if I waited a week or so it might not be available.
@@Taste-Try-Travel We went on Meraviglia and won the bid for an Interior for $350pp. Ended up getting a Deluxe Balcony and it was the most amazing experience. LOVED the ship and the crew. We will be cruising Seascape A LOT when it moves to Galveston.
