ABSOLUTELY one of the MOST underrated songs of all-time. I can't believe this wasn't a mega-hit. At least it's still a true gem for Aerosmith fans who are always looking for more. It really doesn't get any better than this. WOW LOVE this song today as much as I did when I first heard it in 1991.
@@SuperStrik9 Exactly why I came here. I'm not particularly an Aerosmith fan, just 40-odd years of hearing the big hits that AOR radio has given the masses. But I ran across an old audiocassette of Live! Bootleg that I never played (was a gift), and heard this song for probably the first time. It's pretty awesome. Maybe not the best rock song ever, but just a solid, catchy classic rock-and-roll number. I'll give it a few more listens now....
Jim's Pizza shack was my place we would go hang out shoot pool play arcade games and listen to the music from the Jukebox and it was a few doors down from my high school
@@etmeyutubBecause……. A. The radio sucks, and only plays what their corporate overlords allow them to play B. In spite of it’s obvious commercial appeal, this is one of Aerosmith’s more obscure songs, only appearing on a couple of compilations, as a rare limited edition promo single, and in live form on the first live album C. Did I mention that radio sucks?
First heard this song when I bought Live Bootleg my senior year 1978/1979. Chip Away The Stone, I A’int Got You and Mother Popcorn are the best tracks. All cover tunes, but Aerosmith at their best!
God i love the verse on this song. And when they add that extra harmony on "And the boys all promenade" totally gets me off. Sometimes i just play the second verse over and over and drive who ever can hear it to crazy.
in 1982 my brother had live bootleg on vinyl, that's when i heard this for the first time. way underrated song performance from these guys, but that's why these guys are so great you never know what will show up.
Hey Mr Supa, you & Steven wrote some badass songs together sure wish you dudes would Start writing some new tunes I'll keep my fingers crossed k you Rock dude 😎

Its all about the delivery when making a good lyric melody. I believe Steve Miller even made-up some words for this purpose. If he said statue "correcly", the lyrical flow and most importantly, the attitude, would not be there. Rock n Roll!
One of the Best Songs. Hear the Cool Guitar Riffs. Rock With it. Let each Aerosmith Song Take You to Your Own Party. Don't Let anyone Stop You from Being You.
Freakin’ AWESOME dudes!!! This is a bad-ass song!!! First time I heard this track was watching this video on Headbanger’s Ball!!! Aerosmith! Without a doubt one of the best bands to have walked the earth.
Funny thing is, I was in a cover band 20 years ago. We did this song. Hadn't heard or thought of it. But I was looking for another song and this came up. Listening to it now, it's a great song.
Right in the Nuts, sorry Night in The Ruts was a cool album, underrated by many as is this track - love the drugged up years of Aerosmith when they were a dirty, rock & roll band and made great music! \m/
i forgot about this one omg actually picking ice at the freezer wen it suddenly came to me omg os that a real song haven't heard it since I was 14 im 48 lol 🎉 still awesome
I've listened to this song more than any other Aerosmith song. And I'm happy to say that. It's a damn good song. Hey I'm not young enough to have grew up with anything before this one.
It all started in 1976 when I was 5 years old and my older brother was blaring No More No More and Sweet Emotion on my GE Show n Tell he always took from my room. From there I got my wings and have been a fan every since. No More No More is my all time favorite song, This one is my #2 favorite.
I was 14 when my friend Tony Braccio called me: "Hey, I've found an Aerosmith Bootleg! THIS ALBUM IS GOLD!" Today, 24 years after, I say: "Yes, this live rock too much!"
I have a cassette that I recorded off a live show at The Tower Theater in Upper Darby , Pa. In April of 1978 n I believe it may have been the first time they played this song live.
It absolutely is one of their best songs. I doubt too many people are going to argue with you there. Except maybe people who only like sober Aerosmith.
I wanted to listen to an Aerosmith song and this one is often my go-to selection. I always assumed that it was from Night in the Ruts since that was the album from that period that I wasn't familar with but after reading some of the other comments I did some checking and discovered that it was first released as a live song; either on California Jam or Live Bootleg. I'm not sure which since they both came out close to the same time and I had them both. Great song imho - I now want to hear "Sight for Sore Eyes" :)
gotta admit Aerosmith has an identifiable sound that makes this song work for them and I really like it. of course there were several covers of the song and I really like Humble Pie's version
Ur fucking right! And, Aerosmith Live Bootleg is *still* one of my top five favourite rock albums of all time!
I know every note on Live Bootleg bro!! KILLER ANBUM!
EASILY the most underrated Aerosmith song
Love ❤️ this
ABSOLUTELY one of the MOST underrated songs of all-time. I can't believe this wasn't a mega-hit. At least it's still a true gem for Aerosmith fans who are always looking for more. It really doesn't get any better than this. WOW LOVE this song today as much as I did when I first heard it in 1991.
Agree 100 percent. It’s a perfect rock song.
Ian Carroll on repeat all week I won’t stop!
I like the version played live on “ Aerosmith Live Bootleg”.
Steven Tyler is on record stating that this song never really took off with the fans but they as a band loved it and I do too!
lmfao of all time
The greatest American rock band of all time. I first heard this on Live Bootleg
So does Bang Tango then mean nothing to you??
@@forestdweller8164 Yes, it means someone is OBVIOUSLY banging a member of that group!!!
My all time favorite Aerosmith song, never understood how so many people never heard of it...true classic
Most people probably haven't heard it because it isn't on any Aerosmith studio album outside Live! Bootleg and some compilations like Gems.

I first heard this on 94.7 KNEN Norfolk, NE. It can be streamed live.

Hands down, my favorite Aerosmith tune. So, so, so good.

I saw Aerosmith in 78 and it changed my life. Still.
Me too. My first concert. Have seen them 5 times
This was my automatic song i would blast on the jukebox at the local pizza joint. Man, that was 85-86! Good times. 😊
Jim's Pizza shack was my place we would go hang out shoot pool play arcade games and listen to the music from the Jukebox and it was a few doors down from my high school
this song is way underrated! I love this song so much!
Totally agreed. Song has big fat balls.
+Tony Leva Big Ones hahaha!!! 😂
Hell yes...one of there best!

Excellent rock & roll. Amazing difference when compared to the 'music' of today.
A long lost classic. That should be played very loud so your neighbors can hear it.Crank it !!!!!
My favorite Aerosmith song 🎵 ❤️
me too, why don't they play this on the radio?
@@etmeyutub right? It's awesome.

@Shikta-poobah67 I think I love it for the obscurity. What do you think about Seasons of Wither?
Makes you feel cool listening to it
The majority of my music marathons start with Aerosmith tunes 🎸🎸🎸🎸
One of my favourite Aerosmith songs ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Sooo good. Like I am back on my driveway shooting basketballs and hearing this on my 8 track.
Even a rock will crumble if you strike it night and day.
For me it's all about tracks, and this one is one of the very best ever.
This is my favorite song by Aerosmith . Takes me back to my carefree partying days .
What a KICK ASS SONG Absolutely love Aerosmith ❤❤❤❤❤ Hope to see them again ❤❤❤❤
This is my favorite AREOSMITH song! Radio really should be playing this way more often! Underrated is right! Give this song some love!
So, who’s doing all this ‘rating’? Is there some rating system, like Nielsen?
Can you imagin how hard they partied?
You know they were living it up. Fkn love it💀
First heard this song when I bought Live Bootleg my senior year 1978/1979.
Chip Away The Stone, I A’int Got You and Mother Popcorn are the best tracks. All cover tunes, but Aerosmith at their best!
Yep! You're right 👍🏼
Aerosmith at their best, they can rock with anybody. Really wish they would have done more of this and less ballads.
This is Aerosmith at there best..dirty,bluesy rock n roll the way it should be...Goddamn that's good!!!!
Agreed. I hear Faces or Stones in it and that’s not a diss.
Need to respectfully delete one word in your comment. We will all give an account of our words and actions.
@@mr.g1758 shut the hell up
LOL. No words for this song....this is Aerosmith at their BEST!!!
A rock 'n roll masterpiece, in my opinion. My favorite Aerosmith song
Best version of this song ever, they couldnt improve on it, even in concert. Well done boys, come on down to Georgia, we love yall.
God i love the verse on this song. And when they add that extra harmony on "And the boys all promenade" totally gets me off. Sometimes i just play the second verse over and over and drive who ever can hear it to crazy.
Kids today will never understand being in high school in the 70s...
Ironically, this video looks like it was edited by a highschooler
Is anybody else listening to this in 2023?
Everyone who viewed the video is listening. What's the point of your question?
Yes
It still rocks
Yippy skippy damn straight!
Still Rockin’ in 2024 ✌️🎸
One of my favorite Aerosmith songs of all times!! It's got true feeling, heart, and soul. It just grooves!!! Rock on brothers!
An underrated, but very good Aerosmith song.
When they split in the 80s I was at the first show they got back together and they open with back in the saddle I got goosebumps ☠️🤪🤘🤘💥💥💥
My favorite road trip song. How many miles did I enjoy to this song? Too many and still not close to enough. Classic song.
This timeless classic ROCKS! 😊
Great song Richard Supa!

One of their best albums
I can't understand how this AWESOME song doesn't have much more views....WAKE UP PEOPLE PLEASE!!!
This is definitely my favorite Aerosmith tune.
This song only made it to #77 on the charts but it has been a favourite with fans in concert. An excellent rock and roll tune that moves and grooves.
Real Rock and Roll!
Also love the Live Bootleg version ❤️🔥💥
You act like a prima donna
Playin' so hard to get
Sittin' so cool and nonchalant
Draggin' on a cigarette
You keep a wall all around you
I'll get through some day
I want your love, babe, but push come to shove
Gonna chip that wall away
Chip away, chip away at the stone
And I won't stop until your love is my very own
Chip away, that's what I'm gonna do
Sweet little mama, I wanna get next to you
You stand like a marble statue
Tryin' to look so hard
All decked out in your antique dress
While the boys all promenade
Even a rock will crumble
If you strike it night and day
If hammer I must, I'm gonna get through your crust
Gonna chip that stone away
Chip away, chip away at the stone
And I won't stop until your love is my very own
Chip away, that's what I'm gonna do
Sweet little mama, I wanna get next to you
Chip away, chip away at the stone
I won't stop 'til your love is my very own
Chip away, that's what I'm gonna do
Sweet little mama, I wanna get next to you
Yes, I do, yes, I do
Chip away, chip away at the stone
Chip away, chip away at the stone
I won't stop (I won't stop)
I won't stop (I won't stop)

Love this song all the 70's AEROSMITH ARE GREAT!!
I always giggle when he says, "You stand like a marble statcha" LOL (that's Steven Tyler lingo for "statue").
June Pearl it's that Boston accent! lol
Its all about the delivery when making a good lyric melody. I believe Steve Miller even made-up some words for this purpose.

Everytime i hear this .I have to crank it to 11+ !!! Underrated classic.
chip away the rock
Why don’t you just make 10 louder?
That's the only way to listen to it!
There’s that damn word again… “underrated”. Who’s doing all this “rating”? Is Nielsen involved? The Motion Picture Association?
Texting and driving kills. Drunk driving kills. Could YOU be next? Please, stay alert and sober out there!
always been my fave Aerosmith song - epitomizes the band in my mind.
Such great vocalist Steven Tyler. Very gorgeous and bombastic voice he has💗💗💓💓
