Loving the short summer beard videos! Keep it up Scott!
i went too high on the jaw. i shall try again next month.
😫☹️
don’t fuck it up this time
Haha so facts
How’d it go
me too. :D
I learned more from a guy with 25k subscribers than I did watching videos from guy's with over 1million subscribers. Great explanation on the neck like.
Exactly and all in a 7 min video with no bullshit 👏🏻
As a young man trying to find himself in this never ending sea of masculinity, this helped, so thanks a lot man.
I used to do my jawline but I noticed it seems to look better when I go a few inches past under my chin and then slowly bring it up to the jawline once I get to the cheekbone. The reason why I do that is because when you're looking up the jawline looks best but when you are looking straight your neck kind of swishes and it just seems to look more full
I go past the jaw about an inch seems to be a lot but it looks better from the side seeing a full beard then just a jaw line beard
I hope you know, you do the part many dads couldn't do because they are not there (anymore). Thank you for that.
Don't have a beard but this is so satisfying to watch.
You do have a beard it’s just not on your face.
@@nb-ro3jl 😂😂😂 bruh i am rollin

This guy definitely had a dad. These tips aint been shared yet

I feel like my issue is that its always cockeyed for me, one side is always higher than the other, or so it seems. I guess I'm just not good at eyeballing things...
Same. I’m surrendering myself to the barbers after years of doing it myself. First barber trip had me lookin just slightly crispier
It may also be that your face isnt perfectly symmetrical, so one side being slightly different is actually not that big of a deal... may even look better
It’s not it’s just the way the hair grows it can make it look not straight
Ideally you want to grow the beard below the jaw and create a straight neckline not a v or curved
I personally don't use shaving cream. I wet my neck and use daisy razors ( never get bumps ever). And they do a great line
My face must be shaped oddly. I try to turn my face to the side like that but hurts my eyes to look in the mirror and I can’t even see. lol.
Learning how to do my guy's beard. Super helpful
Sorry for the length of this question. I keep my beard trimmed short (#3 on the little trimmer comb) and close to the jawline. I'm not concerned about fat but about how it's impossible to trim a straight line. When I tilt my chin up to see it, I can trim it straight. But when I tilt back down, it isn't straight anymore (changes in shape of my throat when tilting up). Also, I haven't yet braved a straight razor; I use a disposable razor. When I draw the razor down parallel to the jaw line, it follows the contours of my throat. So when it gets to my trachea, it suddenly dips down to follow that rise in my throat. I wind up with what looks like symmetrical gashes, one on each side. I'm tall, so shorter people looking up at me will see the problem. I can't keep my chin down when trimming and use a mirror because my hand gets in the way. Any suggestions? Is the only solution to bring the neck line down so far I can see it without tilting back?
I think I understand what you're saying, it's something you see a lot with your beard style, I have a similar style.
In answer to your question: I used to do hard edges by shaving with my electric razor without lifting my head too much, I then went back following the same edge with a proper razor.
I didn't do this for long, and now prefer soft edges.
If I could recommend something as a general point, don't go too high on the neckline, especially on the jawline by the ear. Try to stick lower rather than higher, I personally go a little lower than this video.
Drifting high is easily done and, as you pointed out, is especially obvious on a tall guy (same here). In my opinion going right up to the jawline looks a bit off, especially when you turn your head from left to right, talk or look down to speak to someone. You can try taking photos with your head at differant angles as you can't do that in a mirror.
Best of luck!
@@DavidN81224 Thanks. One of the reasons the neck line went up so high was because I kept getting it uneven and had to shave more off to even things out. I brought the neck line down about a half inch so I can see it without tilting my head back. Now I just turn my head and torso to the left or to the right a little when shaving.
Incidentally, I bought one of the guides you can get online to help make the line true, but I found out before it arrived that a narrow piece of duct tape does a fine job. It sticks to the skin even if it is a little moist. When the guide arrived, I found that it was more awkward to use than the duct tape. Now that the whiskers have grown out a bit, the duct tape won't work. So I may have to resort to the guide if I slip and shave up a little high in some place and have to bring the whole neckline up again to correct it.
I've shaved my beard of 2 years just a couple weeks after watching u and Carlos Costa do the same. U can see in my profile pic how big it use to be somewhat
Your beard looked perfectly shaped
That thing with the finger was exactly what I needed. Thank you!
That's what she, you know what, nevermind
A perfect beard. Thanks for the visual tips!!
Hey Scott, great demo! One day when I am brave, I will use a cut throat. Always good to see.
Good video, my man! I’m 48 & just recently started growing a short beard. The growing part is easy, but I can’t get the neckline right. I saw a few videos about this, but they didn’t mention how to avoid the neck chub. I think this will help me! Thanks!
I put my finger above my Adam’s apple and go no higher than that
this guy knows his shit
Scott, you are better with a long beard :-)
I agree
You can turn the tap off instead of keeping it on all the time. Please. Dont mind. Its for the planet.
Yea, don't worry too much. The Earth's not going anywhere, we are
Started growing my beard, took mine a little too high. Thanks for advice.
Thanks for making this video I'm a little late to catch the bus obviously but this was very helpful Thanks Scott
I have around 13-15% body fat and I still get that double chin. after watching the video, my beard (which is short) covers it nicely. thanks!
might be a low hyoid bone, can make you look fat even with normal bf%
The difficult thing is for long beards. Keep a nice long bear, but at the same time keep it level up with the jaw line, I always fuck it up. That beard is really short.
Thanks Scott, always good tips
Anytime!!
First time growing a beard in 55 years , i try tonight to cut it at the neck line so will take your advice by the way robin hood has the same beard and gets the princess
Dude already have good jawline
Thank u!!! I messed my beard up yday and i look like a fat slob😂😭 now ik what to do
Straight razor! I manage to cut myself everytime I handle a box cutter. Very cool.
Hey thanks for the tip with the finger placement it really help out. Appreciate you!
Watching from Ireland
I use duke cannon hot shave, I like it best because it's clear ,so you see your line really well ,an it's so much easier to shave ,especially the neck area .
Hi, i have almost a full beard but my question is i even have hair growing up to my eyes about 1 inch away. some hairs you get to get up to my face to see them so some are not that viable...
Wanted to ask do you have to shave all the way up to the eyes? Because im scared if i shaved them off they will show more or come darker for me? Pls help
I do. I have more peach fuzz that heavy hair but I believe it creates a better look. But aways up to you.
Excellent concepts mate, cheers.
Great advice my man!
I tried one of these tricks once, but all it did was making my chin assymetry so visible people thought i had a friend trim it at a party :s
Props on the old fashioned straight razor
Thanks again for sharing
This advice is good if you have a strong to moderately defined chin, but I happen to have a very weak jawline. I have a cleft chin so it’s not like the chin itself is weak but between my chin and my Adam’s apple there is no underside to my jaw, just a gradual slope between the two. I definitely have some neck fat but I’m not a particularly fat person. Can beardbrand do a video with grooming for a very weak chin? I feel like that advice would help a lot of dudes who are growing beards to hide bad chins. I trim all the way up along my jawline and it actually looks great, it gives my face a lot of definition and let’s me draw on my own jawline. If I do the Adam’s apple trick or whatever it looks very neckbeard virgin-y.
If you haven’t tried it, try pushing the back of your tongue to the roof of your mouth and use that as it’s new-normal position. It tightens up the muscles underneath and makes you look less ”fat” in that area. I have the same thing but I’m considering a plastic surgery because it’s hurt my self esteem a lot
@@VictorDude98 Use fillers. No shame in it, a lot cheaper than surgery too. If it makes you more confident go for it
@@user-eh1gc7xo7q oh 100% I support fillers, if it makes you feel better, go for it. Just try to be careful with other operations that may have an effect on your health.
@@VictorDude98 This my advice to you bro!
Grow a long beard, have a barber shape it angular. As in the shape of the beard itself, not the edge up
I do mine pretty much the same although I have mine fading out as you can see. My beard game took me years to master
Much appreciated. Exactly what I needed 🙌
Great video. Well demonstrated. Thank you
Disregard if you don't have fat on your neck - will change how you trim your beard.
Thank you for the video. Helps to have a guide from someone with experience. Wife likes it clean and tight like you mentioned.
Love your videos!!!
Badass background music 😁👍
Can you theoretically take it up to the jawline itself? I mean, the immediate under-ridge of the jaw?
Did u not watch the video 😂? You’ll see more fat if u do that
Awesome vid 👍
I love the way you use the shavette to line up your cheeks and neck. I keep a short stubble and use a Mach3 cartridge for line ups. Quick and easy, but not super crisp. I ordered a shavette and excited to try it out. Practice makes perfect on straight razors and shavettes, especially when using it on yourself.
My beard hair is growing in my ears so I'm making ear wigs
what length is your beard? can you do a tutorial on how to use a straight razor?
Very helpful video thank you
Nice tips man! Appreciated
step 1: be born with a good jaw bone
step 2: ???
step 3: profit
6:30 good explanation
Thanks man, appreciate it
My barber went up a little now it’s uneven ughh
Thanks Scott cheers
I always go bad my neck line because when move my head up I can't see the line properly and cut it in stairs or not the same on both sides of neck
Cheers man 👍
“That match of fair people can see it very unattractive 🥴...🤣” 👍🏾
Great video!! What do you use to cut the beard hair as in for length? My issue is I want to get rid of the little straggly hairs to help it grow in thicker. How do I do that? Is it even possible??
EXCELLENT VIDEO 🙏💥👌 any idea how i can stop sweat spots under my line from my beard on the throat area
Thank you for this
Thanks my dude
So you're not supposed to go all the way to the jaw bone? Even on a 1.5 mm beard length??
Good video Guy👍🏿
I don't use shaving cream soooo.....
Dang went to high. Oh well it grows fast
Nice video. How to deal with a bear with 30% gray and wavy hair?
Watch some other videos of mine that address the wavy beard!
I’ve got the same issue with grey. With the grey, a short beard now looks patchy.
BEAUTIFUL
Thank you good video

Is it weird that I think the before look was better than the after?
Great!👍🏼🔥
nah my son said buffont
What about trimming direction, downward or upward?
whats the shaving blade thing u using ?
what'd you go to beard college shiiiit
Is it just me or is this rant difficult lol. I'm trying to clean up under my beard along the jawline & to me it never looks good lol
Dominick cruz
Solid tips
fatter? idk about that people can rock as they please but nice vid, thx
My guy... could I trade genetics with you???
So this is what Captain America is doing these days
Thats what’s up!!!
how long is your beard?
Hey Scott, how long is your beard here or what clipper did you use when you trimmee it?
Probably about and Inch
This is subjective though it all depends where your neck starts and where it ends some men have to no neck. There fore they cannot define their jaw line not even with a straight edge. Not easy doing it on your own. But I wish I can use a straight lol I cringed watching you up close there 😱
Looks a bit too pointy tho
You have yourself a face beard need to let that neckline grow down further
You went too far up but that’s just me
Just laser away the neckbeard. Will save you some time and look even more clean
I do 2 fingers under the jaw line.
زیبا
A
Biggest mistake I see guys make is to shave right up to their jaw. This looks terrible (and silly!). You're supposed to have some hair at least a little bit past your jaw, like just underneath your jawline.
Facts
Don't ride the jaw line.
Very low cheek line you have...
Hangman noose? Very poor choice of words.
Why??
