I also have a 64 plate Insignia Elite. Got it at 51k and is now at 68k without no major issues apart from a clicking clutch pedal when the car was warm. Pedal box replaced and the issue came back. Mines remapped and runs like a dream. Get on average 58 mpg and that's mostly motorway. Mines a ecoflex model and if I could change something it would to get one without the ecoflex gear box. To many gear chances for my liking

What's the original horsepower and the horsepower now after remap? I've a 2014 and want to remap it but afraid of damaging it

@@Edvard.Munchkin org 140 now 195. It's not as big as a increase as it sounds. Sure you feel that pull once the turbo spools and certainly feels fast in the mid band but it's also alot of car to shift. It's on 93k now with high motorway usage and only been serviced and needs a glow plug replacing.

@@hal752 Yeah I've also done a glow plug on mine, and I've a new clutch and flywheel, I've got a bit more miles though mine is on about 130,000, and it's also a 140. I don't think I'll bother I don't want to wreck it, especially that now the engine miles are getting high

First salesman to tell the truth about fuel consumption. Not just reading off Official Figures.
I always think large family cars suit auto better.

Good review as always. Used to work for Opel myself and even though I'm a VAG fanatic at heart, I still believe Opel/Vauxhall are the best value and reliable cars on the market. The Insignia touchpad is rubbish and it was thankfully removed during a model year change of 2015 and replaced with a coin tray. (not surprisingly 1 or 2 customers still went mad to discover theirs didnt have it) and we had to retrofit it. I will say though if you are left handed or for those driving on the left, the touchpad actually works very well (I tried working it from the passenger side and it actually works well)

I couldn't use it, every time I tried to I went over a bump and clicked on the wrong thing, ah Opels, the good old days !!!!!!!

As a company car driver,I have lost count of the times I have collected my car from a main dealer.
Then had to walk back in to reception to ask if they wouldn't mind stamping the service booklet.
    Nice spec insignia,and resale red.
Won't be in stock for long I bet.

    • @BarrieCrampton
      @BarrieCrampton  5 лет назад

honestly, the sheer incompetence of some garages drives me insane, you pay them £100 an hour and they can't even get stamping your service book right, so what chance have you got that they've followed the servicing schedule correctly

    I'm looking to buy that model 2014 2.0 cdti 140hp 145000km.
But a bid affraid as it seems to be a corporate car so the driver probably didn't care much, it has no service history, it has plenty of options. It's on auctions so i hope to get it cheap to have some room to fix the eventual problems. Will try to get it at 6500-7000€, i'll probably not go higher, front tires need to be replaced as they've failled the tech. check.

Just bought a 64 plate vauxhall insignia techline cdti eco s/s. Lovely car, although i would have to disagree about the sound system, it's awful. The worst sounding stereo i have ever heard in a car. Had an 07 Mondeo, which i loved and the Sony system in that was exceptionally good. The Sound of the stereo in the Insignia is very poor, imo.

@@frederic6998 No, got hassle with the Dealer so went through the small claim court. I was told by one guy that oil seals can
cause problems and should be changed. I was told by dealer they had changed an oil gasket seal but car then had oil pressure issues
This car had had a lot of owners and no service history so lesson learned.
