      Thanks again! There are definitely people out there helping to spread and preserve their memory, but on the whole, they really do get forgotten! Stay tuned for more content, it's in the works!

    Also out of interest just wondering if you knew a scene in a movie where British troops enter a town/city with union flag flying. Looks to be in the middle east somewhere. Any ideas what film?

    On 2 of your videos thus far the audio has been too quiet, just a heads up.

    • @TheFarOffStation
      @TheFarOffStation  3 года назад +1

      All videos prior to "New Kit Bits" had audio recorded with a different arrangement than is current, they're lower than whats idea due to the arrangements because of high white noise levels. This has of course been mitigated by the new setup.

    Not to be a downer or anything, but the cocking piece is a WW2 version. A WW1 cocking piece would be of a rounder shape. Still an amazing rifle!

    And now I’m jealous. Living with 2 younger brothers can be hell, my parents most definitely wouldn’t let me purchase as much as a flare pistol! And it’s deactivated! I’m thinking about bribing them to buy a PPSH I found. Can’t really get this sort of stuff in Canada easily. If anyone has any places I could look, online or in Ontario, please tell me.

    • @TheFarOffStation
      @TheFarOffStation  3 года назад +3

      Hey, one day you'll be more free to get whatever you'd like! I'm not very aware of the Canadian market and laws, so unfortunately I'm unable assist you in that regard! No flare pistol, that seems extreme! How else will you signal to your Arab tribesman when you've blown an Ottoman rail line in the desert!

    I've got a 1918 BSA as well that I brought back to military configuration with a DP gun stock, one thing that I can't seem to figure out though is a marking on the barrel shank. It has a D in a circle lightly stamped on it, I've done online research on it but have come up with nothing. Anyone know what it means or have a book recommendation that might have the info I'm looking for?
