What a beautiful old church and village Dave. The woods are charming and serene looking.Lovely walk with you both . Logan looks cute in his coat. Thank you Dave for taking us along 👏🏻☀️
Forty-two walks planned! Your technical research hound has been busy this winter. I hope he lets you stop at a pub or two. I eagerly await my walks with you, thank you both.
Thanks for all your hard work in preparing your walks Dave. I’ve often wondered how many you had up your sleeve. The edited results are very professional and extremely watchable. This walk in particular was very varied in content. That Second World War bunker was remarkably well preserved. I think that such structures should be listed. Kind regards to you and Logan.
Very nice that old church, and the woods also. A dream of mine to own a woodland in southern England to live and work in, a simple rustic life in a small cabin.
Hi Dave and Logan, thank you so much for covering this walk. It’s got some interesting history. The fire engine in St Giles Church is unique. Hopefully The Swan Inn @ Stoford was open.
What a wonderful winter walk. Very atmospheric throughout. I loved the roman road. Logan seemed singularly unimpressed with the bunker! Thank you for a fascinating watch.
Thanks Jean. Yes, once Logan had been to the end & back and realised it was empty, I think he had seen enough & was sure there were more interesting things to explore outside!
Hello Dave. As soon as you showed those bread prices etched into the wall, I remembered the church and the fire pump. Had to smile at Logan in the bunker! He may have gone in first, but he couldn’t get out fast enough. Never mind his poor old dad being left all alone. I'm sure he would have gone for help, should anything have happened to you
Thank you, Dave and Logan. What a wonderful walk! I'm looking forward to visiting the witches trees myself this year. I'm sorry to say I laughed at the blooper at the end 😆 I hope you didn't cause any damage to yourself!
Thanks Nic. I hope you have good weather for your walk. The trees are fairly easy to find. I am still not sure how I actually fell off that seat - it certainly confused Logan!
Good afternoon Dave what a beautiful and very enjoyable video to watch it did look very cold the research you put in is very impressive all the very best.
You sure the Royal Oak wasn't open Dave, falling off a seat, whatever next? Christmas indulgences were causing a bit of puffing too I fancy. Never mind you'll soon get your walking fitness back with all those planned walks. Keep up the good work.
Hi Dave, just found your channel. I’ve subscribed as I be just binge watched some of your videos. Hopefully I’ll be able to retrace some of your walks 👍
One of my favourite places to visit is Grovely Woods and the Witches Trees. There is another similar bunker a little further up the same stretch on the same side but more difficult to spot and it’s been bricked up. Shame about the pub, been in there a bunch of times before it suddenly closed . It said it was reopening in December 22 but never did at least when I visited it hadn’t . Logan’s face at the end when you slipped off the bench 😂
4:08 Interesting that the bread seems to be priced by the gallon. Never seen that before. It would provide an incentive for unscrupulous bakers to make their bread extra spongy!
its where the shadow points to not the metal indicator on the sundial, the shadow is pointing south south east, but it is odd and the weird shadow shape suggests part of the metal indicator has broken off at some time and now reads between 4 and 5 o'clock, guess its broken

Thank you Melissa. That is Logan's "extra thick" Winter coat -keeps him nice and snug on those really cold days!
@@DaveFord it looks warm Dave. Give him a warm hug from me. He is so sweet.
Hi Dave. Another great video. Love the music from 11.54 to 12.18 and from 14.47 to 15.10! Very appropriate for Logan's walkies!
Thank you Antonio. Yes, the rhythm seems to match his pace nicely! Thanks for watching.
Brave of you to do a walk in such temperatures, Dave. Thanks for venturing out!
Thanks Jim. It "blew away a few cobwebs"!

I eagerly await my walks with you, thank you both.
Ah yes, a fair few of the walks will entail passing by an Alehouse - which of course will require a visit ..... purely for research purposes!
Lovely walk Dave. Glad to see you've finally discovered the wonders of Wiltshire! Dare we hope for more? Cheers John
Thanks John. Oh yes - indeed there is another one coming up later this month!

Thanks Mark. I think that must be one of the "cleanest" & best preserved WW2 bunkers / stores that I have come across.
Another interesting walk Dave. Thank you for sharing 👍👍
Thank you Paul. I hope that you are both well.

That is certainly a great goal to work towards for sure. Thanks for watching John.

I live in Thailand, married here and living a quiet life on a small pension. Looks like I'm going nowhere. ...just dreaming. 🙂
Hi Dave and Logan, thank you so much for covering this walk. It’s got some interesting history. The fire engine in St Giles Church is unique. Hopefully The Swan Inn @ Stoford was open.
Thanks Katie. I just loved that little fire engine!

Lovely walk and out take😂
Thank you Roger. :)
Dave&Logan nice walk in a frosty coutryside, thanks! Happy to hier you have plenty to come, looking forward to see!
Thank you Hannu. Yes, plenty more on the way!
Lovely views Dave, l really enjoyed this .
Thank you Michael.

I have a sneaky suspicion that he had heard one of those pesky squirrels outside and was keen to investigate!

Thanks Craig. It wasn't too bad - as long as you kept moving!
Nice one Dave, lovely as always.
Thank you Nick.
Super Dave. Certainly a day to keep moving and exploring! The WW2 bunker was interesting and very well preserved. Love these hidden gems. Well done.
Thanks Rachel. It was a really "fresh" Winter day for that walk - and so much to explore!
It a amazing village and a wonderful forest walk in the countryside
Thank you Keith. It was quite "atmospheric" in those woods!

Thank you. I am still not sure how a failed to "land" properly on that seat!

Thank you & indeed welcome to the channel! I hope that you enjoy the future videos in the series. Thanks for watching.
Nice walk through Grovely Wood, Witches Trees, love the history stories that took place there
Those trees certainly have a "mysterious" aspect about them!
Some beautiful scenery in this video as always, thanks for sharing it with us Dave.
Thank you John. :)
Another great walk, thank you Dave & Logan 😊
Thank you. :)

I would have loved to have carried on to the second bunker (I still had a fair bit of the walk to do) - I must go back there again.
4:08 Interesting that the bread seems to be priced by the gallon. Never seen that before. It would provide an incentive for unscrupulous bakers to make their bread extra spongy!
Oh yes, I hadn't thought of that!
The Royal Oak in Wishford reopened in May this year.
Thank you for the update. That is good to know.

That would certainly explain it.
Hi Dave inspired by this video to do the walk myself. Do you have any tips for where to park in the village? Cheers John
I parked in the street South of the church (plenty of room).
@DaveFord thanks Dave. Hope all went well for you and Logan at Crufts and no case of handler error!
42 walks ......that's really something.......so-you counted them....42-that's a lot. - I thought it would be 33.
Yes indeed!
