You're a great teacher and I love and appreciate how you explain these things. Your funny anecdotes in videos help me understand so much better than pure technical lessons

Knowledge dispensing notwithstanding, I have to make honorable mention to your non-existent use of meaningless jump-cuts that are way too prevalent nowadays. Much props and thank you for a truly awesome tutorial!
I love how you explain dude, im not english but i understand you perfectly. Grateful you made me learn some real things i thought i knew about hahah Can't wait till this get deeper !!
Thank you for the 'logarithmic and perceived loudness' part. I'd heard something like that, before, but my failure to internalize it makes it difficult to use compressors effectively without some kind of graphic. But no longer. NO LONGER.
I think it's universally agreed that all gringos have a fish like odour. Anyway, another informative video. Sending love from Jay's Fish and Chip Shop, U.K 🇬🇧.
In music, you're basically having a conversation... "Hi. I'm Underbelly"... Is a question. "And you suck at producing."... Is an answer. "Okay, socheckit." Ooh. Bit of a dodgy question here....

this is very amazing! I'm not that good at english but your tutorials are understandable and fun! best thing is these tutorials really inspire very appreciated salude from Bangkok
I was going with Reaper initially , but after seeing your videos , i bought the intro edition of Ableton live haha great job man , keep those videos coming .
Okayz check it! Just came across your channel this evening and can't get enough. Love the combination of informative videos and "involuntary" comedic vlaue! Oh wowzers - don't ever stop this shit!
so the track volume is peaking at -4.15 db but the master volume is peaking at -3.85 db. why is there a difference when there's only that one track playing?
is it better to let the mixdown at -6db befor mastering ? Another Video about Mastering in Ableton would be great ... or a video about , how to sample uncle joes fart :D
+Music- and Sounddesign Musik- und Soundschmiede yes maintaining at least -6dB of headroom before mastering is ideal. More videos featuring Uncle Joe's bodily functions coming soon!
I put a limiter on my master track after everything has been mixed to make it sound beefier. If you need a limiter before the song is done your tracks are probably too hot. Thats just what I do
Im surprised americans dont use something weird instead of the metric "decibels" like everyone else. Something where total silence is not 0 for example.
Okay but if a midi track is clipping while you're recording what should you do?? turn down the volume on the plugin till it doesnt then just boost the fader of the track afterwards?
I have a pre-amp (DBX) => audio interface => Laptop. And when I hear my recordings they always clip even when I have the gain set to descent levels.... Do you think I need a better interface??? because everything else including my microphone is pretty high end....
Maybe the ones that you recommend or your favorite tools or something. love what you do with the akai thing in your underbelly live vid. anyway love to watch/hear anything you release. keep up the content and i'll be happy. a great source to learn and have a good laugh at the same time.

I also learned a neat trick that if you lower the velocity on the kick it lowers the volume so you digitally clip less!
YOU GOT A SUB FROM ME BRO this funny and informative hahah
I'm not even making music, I just wanted to understand my friend when he speaks. I love that intro though!
Air pressure chenges logarithmicaly with dB but actually you hear it linearly. DB are used in oder to linearize loudness.
Man you are good! no wait you are great!! the way you explain stuff is just awesome. Kudos.
thanks naseem

so the track volume is peaking at -4.15 db but the master volume is peaking at -3.85 db.
why is there a difference when there's only that one track playing?
If you look closely, his master isn't at 0dB, but at 0.3dB. That's why there's a difference.
Just got Ableton this morning and found you, hopefully through your teaching i won't sound like uncle Joes farts
+caleb wright yeah just his burps

You are very funny teacher. Thanks a lot for the information.
Is it a good idea to put a limiter on the master while making a song or should you decrease the volume of individual tracks?
decrease volume. Limiting should be the last thing you do.
I put a limiter on my master track after everything has been mixed to make it sound beefier. If you need a limiter before the song is done your tracks are probably too hot. Thats just what I do
Nice tutorials man, I just gotta say something outta context but If John C. Reilly and Matt Damon had a baby, that would be looking like you
all it took was the title for me to give this a like

-∞ db
You Suck at Producing you suck at answering a question
where is the video that shows you how to midi map the vol to the sends to prevent it from going over the ceiling?
Instructions unclear, my pc is now taking anabolic substances from russia.
Is there a site or something where I can download all the tracks he uses in his tutorials?
Should you control the volume using the track meters or the plugin out controllers?
How can i meassure the headroom i need in my song?
yo dude, super helpful and funny. Quick question, do you take lsd every morning? haha
So how do I control my RMS in my track? And are there any other tools other than limiters, compressors and maximizers to do this with? :)
So I should set my track at -6dB?
You should aim to have from 0 to -2dB peaks at your master. Since that's pretty much what professional recordings aim to.
Shave your unibrow for some extra horsepower
thanks for the advice
I actually think its swagsexxxxy it 👌🏽( im a chick btw) 💋

what if the sound is peaking but it is not loud?
If you're using Ableton live intro, what could be a good substitute for the EQ eight? Is there a possible plugin that could be a substitute if not?
