    Great video, nice shots and a very laid back calming narrative.
    Reminds me of Malcolm Douglas.

    Excellent boating skills Norm, a 40 ft is just right for single skippering. Thanks again for including navigation/ anchoring tips too. Cheers mate.

      Yep, pretty special encounter Graham. Trick is to shut down engines and let them come to you.
      Cheers mate.

    Thanks for the video Norm. We had an experience with some ball valves on our camper trailer. Made from chinesium apparently. Stainless steel on the outside, but when I opened one it would not shut off. Lost the full tank of water and found the interior of the valve was mush. I went to check the forward one for the shower, exactly the same. These were the original equipment too, so if you have any, they need the bin sooner rather than later. Based on usage they have a life expectancy of 6 weeks.

      Yeah, some pretty crappy stuff out there.
      Think my ball valves are all OK, but should have fitted original pumps. Oh well.
      Cheers mate

    Thanks Norm. Another wonderful video full of beautiful scenery, interesting boating info and awesome animal encounters. Was the Mooloolaba bar shoaled up when you went through? Take care mate.

      Thanks Nomad.
      No the bar at Mooloolaba was pretty good when I crossed. Has been dredged recently I think.
      Cheers

    I heard that bar crossing was one of the worst around and can only be done at high tide, is that right?

    • @MotorSailingforOldDudes
      @MotorSailingforOldDudes  4 года назад

      It's a long bar, but not as unpredictable as a lot on the NSW coast. You can cross at most tides, depending on draft, but like all bars better to cross in the last 2 hours of the flood.
      Cheers mate.

      I wanted to kayak through it, probably in rather than out. Been considering circumnavigating Fraser by kayak. Same with Moreton.

      @@Beyondthebackyard-au I'm not sure but you can probably hug the Frazer coast in a Kayak and get in. The entrance to the main bar crossing is a long way out.

      @MotorSailingforOldDudes  4 года назад +1

      Plenty of water for Kayaks at any tide.

    Good on you recommending original equipment replacement parts! Thinking of that, when you buy a new part like this, do they charge you what we Yanks call a “core charge”? Here, if you bring them the old part, they refund that charge. The visiting whales were so close to your boat you could have almost reached out and touched them! So happy they are being protected in most parts of the world.

      No core system here Edward.
      The original parts didn't cost much more than the knock offs.
      The wales were great. Wombi was a bit dissaponted at missing out.
      Cheers mate.
      Stay away from that Covid.
