Hello Norm..Have a great break. As a relatively new subscriber, have really enjoyed your videos and really appreciate the detail regarding anchorages and the vision showing the topography and landmarks as you travel towards them, including coastal bars etc. We intend taking up the cruising lifestyle in the next couple of years, and while we already have quite a number of years of boating experience, we have learned a lot from your cruising experiences. My wife and I have noticed you have a good mix of technical skills and do a lot of your own maintenance. We were wondering if you previously held technical/maintenance roles in your working career? Anyway, your current work is very much appreciated... Carry on Cruising!
Thanks Julian, My only qualifications are a Master 5 certificate and a MED2 engineering qual. Always been a bit of a handyman, built two houses and two boats along the way. I built Peggy-Anne from the hulls up and like to do my own maintenance as it is cheaper and I know it is being done properly. It's a lot easier these days, if you want to know how to do something, look it up on RUclips. There's a wealth of info there. Thanks for the comments. Glad my videos help. Have a great xmas.
For solo sailing I urge you to wire the electric anchor winch to operate from forward deck and helm position as well.It is good to be able to operate winch from either position.
Yep that would be the way to go Bevan. Think I'll have to do something, but may miss my upper body exercise in the morning. It would probably be safer with an elec winch, but is amazing how fast you can get that pick up when you're heading for a lee shore. Have a good xmas mate.
Have a nice Christmas Norm I am hoping to hang off Tipplers around the 14th with my wife using my boat as a floating caravan with butler. Looking for a spot for the boat have a look under Marina Berths on facebook market place sometimes you can get a good deal. safe travels regards Simon

sorry for late reply. Just found these messages.
Happy New Year.
how much fuel do you use in a month?
Probably around 200 litres. Of course it depends on how much travelling we do dude.
