    @SvenOkonomi I wasn't calling you an idiot, sorry if it came across that way. I just thought to mention it since I didn't see it posted. I do know if you try to use heavy props on an electric it can stress the bearings to failure. I had a Gens Ace motor here I've flown 2 batteries through and it started making noise. I threw it away. I would rather waste a motor than a whole plane, then again I build balsa kits, and am not keen on ruining 80 hours of build for a $30 USD motor.

    @JockeGPz750 I balanced everything, right down to the motor bell. This thing has gremlins in it. :(

    @kurtisk84 You think im an idiot? Ofcourse I balanced the prop, even balanced the motor bell itself. Didnt change a thing, as soon as higher RPM hit, the damn thing started shaking loose.. Im guessing a combination of heavy prop and weak frame was causing some messed up reactions.

    the darn shenanigans this thing put up.
    May of been due to a failing BEC in the ESC.
    You may of been having a Brown-Out!
    Your flight mirrored my FunCub flights and Crashes!
    When I changed my ESC to a New Castle Creations 50 AMP ESC It suddenly flew good!
    No More Brown-Outs! When I crashed the Radio Receiver Light would be flashing upon Recovery!

    @carboncubss I stalled it, plain and simple. ;) Im not used to these big planes, smaller foamies are much more forgiving. This large lug was relentless though, I read that gunning throttle and pushing the opposite direction of the stall spin without pulling up immediately would stabilize it to a level out. Unfortunately it didnt stop spinning.

    Oddly enough the CG was where the manual stated it should be. ;) But looking back on it, yeah the weight should have been more in the front. It was the motormount woe's that made me sell it though.

  • @SvenOkonomi
    @SvenOkonomi  12 лет назад

    Perhaps you should bother reading the description.
    CG was right where the manual told me it should be.

  • @SvenOkonomi
    @SvenOkonomi  12 лет назад

    It did have a nasty tendency to "nose up" in banked turns, so I too suspect CG was off. At any rate I didn't enjoy flying this thing one minute. Too much of a struggle wrangling it through the turns.
    I do have a whopping huge 70" blackhorse piper cub that someone gave me for free, but frankly I'm too scared to stick money in it, fearing it ll be the funcub all over again. After the funcub fiasco I reverted back to small foamies and more recently some multicopters.

  • @SvenOkonomi
    @SvenOkonomi  13 лет назад

    @jimnrel That was thanks to heaving loads of carbon sticks my friends and I stuck inside the nose in an attempt to stop the motor from yanking itself loose again. ;)

    @realmavi Then you may explain why my expensive Hyperion motor had a magnet failure on the 2nd battery, and has been replaced with a turnigy motor for over 2 years now. ;) Or why my castle creations ESCs have both smoked up and have been replaced by equal size turnigy plush ESCs for a year now. Quality doesn't come with price.

    Jammer dat je verkoopt. Maar misschien een stomme vraag. Hoe moet je hem eigenlijk sturen als je hem uit de spiraal wil krijgen?

  • @SvenOkonomi
    @SvenOkonomi  13 лет назад

    @realmavi I think its cheap crappy propellers and crooked spinners that were to blame on my cub. I was using cheap APC knockoffs and chinese spinners and those gave me a ton of vibration. Ive never had a hit of vibration on real APC props or even GWS ones. Its just weird that way, you just have to keep looking for that one perfect combo, the one holy grail. ;)

    Im with you on that one, especially on deltawings its nice to have a light ass. ;)

    i threw away my eflite park 450 motor.....prop shaft just bent hitting the soft grass. no damage to the plane.....it stayed on its wheels even. then the bad vibrations started.....threw off the battery hatch/cowl in flight.....never did find it. eflite motors suck . get a good one.

  • @emoore1978

    yep...it was very tail heavy......it just stopped flying.....

    i've never had a CG be correct in a manual in most cases :( usually needs major adjusting

  • @MetHerInBaghdad

    I also had a FunCub that didn't fly that well. I flew another guy's and it flew great, and our CG was the same for both airplanes. I never figured out why mine flew terrible and his flew great. Either way, I am glad to get rid of mine too. As for your crash, could it be possible that it was tail heavy? A tail heavy airplane will have a tendency to get into a spin easier and is often unrecoverable. Just a thought. Don't give up on the big planes though. They normally fly so much better.

  • @SvenOkonomi

    Telling me to read the manual while you fail to read the video description. Priceless.
    But ill save you the trouble, CoG was as recommended by the manual..

    You guys talking about vibrations...you are aware theres a nice cheap tool called a prop balancer, right? NEVER fly a plane with vibrations. APC props are dirt cheap, and usually are balanced right out of the package, but I still check them. An unbalanced prop can ruin the best of motors. Also, Dubro spinners are cheap and balanced well out of the package. I hate to see anyone ruin a plane just because a prop was causing vibrations...also, cheap motors are ok these days.

    tail heavy... your nose goes up when your banking. Pitty you sold yours looked good while it flew :D

    Did you balance the prop?

    to an able pilot, nothing is more frustrating then a numb, nose heavy plane. who wants to fly a plane that handles like a fully loaded mini-van? no thanks. i'll take a rear heavy plane that handles like a rear heavy porsche any day

  • @emoore1978
    @emoore1978 13 лет назад

    first off.....it was windy....and its a light airplane! second....you tip stalled it...into whats called a death spiral....3rd.....they put oversize props on these planes to get the performance....if not balanced....you will get vibration.....if everything is balanced....there should be no issues with vibration at all!

  • @SvenOkonomi
    @SvenOkonomi  13 лет назад

    @realmavi One who still believes more expensive means better performance eh? ;)

    Fun Cubs seem to have a very poor, unreliable design. I wish Multiplex made their products better :(
