- Today we will show you Lier, a small village in the province of Antwerp in Belgium.
Its origins go back at least to Roman times. In particular, the city was specially prosperous practically throughout the Middle Ages, mainly because of its livestock industry and textile production. Although the city has suffered much damage throughout its history, particularly during the First World War, today it has a welcoming historic centre. In fact, most of the medieval-style structures still standing today, such as the town hall and its bell tower, are exact replicas of the originals.
Then we are going to cycle along Lier's cycle path to Boechout, where we are going to visit the "Den Steenen Molen", a windmill from 1782.

I live in this beautifull historical city now for more than 30years. Every year there are many tourists who’are visiting this little pitoresk town and most of them are very supprised and says it is like Bruges.. even better.. thanks for making this promovideo!

We realized that many if the most beautiful flemish cities (besides Ghent, Bruges and Antwerp) don't have a nice video showing its heritage, its streets and everything they have to offer and that's why we're trying do to videos of every corner in Flanders. We've been many times in Lier, in fact we're big fans of this city, we always find some excuse to come back again! Que bonito! en 2019 estuvimos recorriendo algunas ciudades de Bélgica y es un pais maravilloso. Nos apuntamos Lier para una futura visita. Y tranquilos, todos tenemos un comienzo, los videos van mejorando con el tiempo jeje Un saludo :)
