There's a certain charm that's unique to season 1 of TTTE. I don't know how to explain it. Probably from the fact that the scenes feel like illustrations in a kids book, or from the more simple slice-of-life stories where the engines aren't crashing every episode, or from the calming narration of both Ringo and George, or from the fact that this is the only season where continuity truly matters. I don't know, but it has a charm that no other season has.
Season 1 is a straightforward season of Thomas and Friends, the continuity is consistent even though some of the stories from the RWS were skipped, The sets are fantastic as they try to put a lot of effort to the sets as well as trying to make it realistic as possible and while the lighting isn't good, It's still a great season nontheless mainly because every single character took part in it as well as having different personalities and character growth, My most favourite of all is the dynamic between Thomas and Gordon there's something that really fascinated me between the two, I especially love Gordon's character in this season because we actually learnt that he is more than Pompous, rude and egotistical. he cares for his friends and helps them in need which can be seen in Down the Mine and I really love that episode because that episode shows that Thomas and Gordon care for each other and best of all put their differences aside and start an alliance and that is a really nice change to Gordon's Character since it gives him more character development and I don't think we've seen Thomas and Gordon argue after this. which is one of the reasons why Gordon's my favourite Thomas character, I would've loved to see Paint Pots and Queens Adapted as the final Episode of Season 1 because lets be real, It feels like a Season Finale.
When I first watched Thomas and the Magic Railroad many years ago I though that there would more characters like Edward, Duck, Donald Douglaus, Bill, Ben. Oliver and the rest of the characters but unfortunely that never happened, plus I was expect to see Gordon, Henry, James, Percy and Toby at the end of the movie with Thomas and Lady.

Good video on season 1. Of how the characters were acting back then to now. Character growth, something that would reflects on children.
Ringo starrs narration is wonderful and calming this season 😊
I agree Ringo Starr >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>George Carlin FACT
@@ndingoJohnny Morris is my favorite.

You should hear the Johnny Morris versions of these stories.
