Probably one of my favorite seasons of television. They did a tremendous job translating Coen Brother-isms and making it into its own thing.
Have You seen all of the you tube videos connecting the seasons??? Very interesting the two boys fighting at the end of the season are in season #1 & #3 is interesting
@@4thlinemaniac356 haven't seen any but I did learn about those things either on my own watching the show or from discussion forums. I love how the series connects with each season, even though it's an anthology.
The Fargo formula of:
The Law
The Bad Guys
The ones stuck in the middle
Never fails. This season is incredible.
Kirsten Dunst already did an iconic Fargo-esque accent in Drop Dead Gorgeous; one of the best 90s comedies imo
Kirsten Dunst just absolutely slays this season. Some of the best TV work ever.
Yep. She killed it.
and deserved it fo sho.@@fannybuster
Oh damn that was her !? Jumanji will never seem the same.
The way her mental illness escalates over the season is a brilliant performance.
@@fannybuster She only earned an Emmy nomination.
This is partly inspired by a true story about a woman who hit a homeless man with her car and drove home with the man still lodged in the front of her car. The man died in her garage two days later. They made movie based on the case called "Stuck".
Yup, I remember watching youtuber Mr Ballen cover it in one of his episodes (Same case I think), and I kept screaming" This is Fargo"! Damn
Bokeem Woodbine as the character Mike Milligan is what made this season so good for me.
Been a huge fan of Bokeem ever since Saving Grace, and he is too good here. He really gets to shine.
His best performance ever!
He crushed it
Him and Dud...they were Old School.
I'm so glad you guys watch stuff for the enjoyment of it.
You don't just follow that's popular at the moment. You watch black and white movies, old classics, spaghetti westerns etc.
Fantastic channel! Thx for all the content!
Jeffrey Donovan from a very decent TV series "Burn Notice" is an exceptional character actor, playing Dodd one of Jean Smarts sons. He had a great, subtle turn in "Sicario" and "Changling".
.And freaking' JEAN SMART...she steals every scene.
Also Ted Danson takes tasty character roles also...he was in " Saving Private Ryan"....Don't know if you know he had a MASSIVE TV series "Cheers" that ran for 100 years.
Love his acting, charismatic underrated actor
This is 100% my favorite season of TV ever.
THANK YOU!!! LET'S GO. Jean Smart....
So thrilled you are continuing with this show. This season just might be one of the best seasons of tv I have ever seen. You are in for a ride.
Season 3 is a bit weirder than the other two but just as fantastic. Season 4 while good just isn't as amazing as the previous three, but still worth checking out. By the looks of season 5, it looks like it could have a lot of potential.
Season 3 tied it all together for me, I cried. I thought 2 was great but I thought 3 brought everything together in an unconventional but satisfying way. I'm happy to see so many fans of this show. Good taste to you
@@timroth9988 Season 3 also has VM Varga who is probably next to Malvo one of the best villains I have ever seen.
This is my favorite season of the show. Not that the later seasons are bad at all--this show is quality all the way through--but this season is a JOURNEY.
I can help lol
I love season 1, 2 and parts of 3, but I can't stand season 4. I really can't think of anything I particularily like in that season.
@misterStevePikk yeah I wanted so badly to like season 4 but it was so rushed and disjointed and frustrating. I think I watched it all for Timothy Olyphant lol
As someone who grew up in Sioux Falls, SD and has lived in or been to every city/town in this series, it's really wild hearing all these towns being such major players in this show. I learned to swim at the pool in Luverne, MN. My sister is in Bemidji. I worked/lived in Fargo, ND. . Turning these quiet little towns into such brutal crime centers is a real trip, lol. Sadly the awful treatment of the Native population is not far out of the reality.
Natives are generally treated unfairly everywhere. Being a native in Canada, I experience casual racism from peers and educators.
You might recognize the Gerhardt’s Native American henchman; played by Zahn McClarnon from Doctor Sleep
The episode's title, "Waiting for Dutch," is a reference to Samuel Beckett's play "Waiting for Godot," in which two characters wait forever for someone named Godot, and to Ronald Reagan, who was nicknamed "Dutch." This title ties into the fake movie outtake, and the time period this season is set in, with people waiting for Reagan to finally arrive.
Astonishing season. Astonishing writing. I can only echo every other comment here, you are in for a ride. And the fact, you'll get to meet Mike Milligan...
Yes! I was so happy you loved season 1 I haven't seen season 2 since watching and can't wait to remember and relive everything with you guys!
Let's go!!
So from your reaction, you're clearly already aware that Jesse Plemons and Kirsten Dunst are married... This show is how they met and got together!
They both earned Emmy nomination as well.
Wow! So many big names. I remember Patrick Wilson, Kirsten Dunst, Jesse Plemons, and Jean Smart being in this one (as well as one more I won't mention), but I'd completely forgotten about Ted Danson, Nick Offerman, Kieran Culkin, and Brad Garrett. And I'm probably forgetting some others as well! Can't wait to rewatch with you guys.
You forgot Cristin Miloti as the mom! She's awesome, especially in Palm Springs and Black Mirror.
@@17thknight Oh dang, I thought she looked familiar!
@@17thknight Also Bokeem Woodbine, Zach McClaron and Bruce Campbell as Ronald Reagan.
I remember the agonising wait each week for every episode of this season, now I got to go through it again waiting for your reactions each week aarggh, but it'll totally be worth it. Very excited to see you watch and discuss it while putting the pieces together of the whole Fargo story as it progresses.
Every season is a ride, with so many interesting characters. The needle drops in Season 2 are on point.
I gave up pretty quick on the last season, very disappointing with the woke racial crap. Tragic too because I was so excited about that cast.
I love the covers of songs that appeared in Cohen Brothers films that pop up this season.
@@st0n3p0ny what woke racial crap? Are you ok? Do you need to lie down?
This is my favorite season of the show for sure!
Haha nice one guys! Straight into season 2!
Each season has its own themes and ideas. 1979 was a political transition year in the US. Jimmy Carter was president but Ronald Reagan was ramping up his campaing to take over the oval office. Women's Lib had reached its apex in American society transitioning towards 'feminism'. The ywo big movies at the time were Star Wars and Close Encounters Of The Third Kind so people had UFOs on the brain. And America was just getting over the defeat in Vietnam and Watergate. The late seventies brought in a lot of unsettling change... And Fargo season two embraces it all. The selectric auto correcting typewriter is a terrific way of illustrating that change. The first Microwave ovens were just coming on the market as well. I am also old enough to remember the crying Indian ads on tv.
Seasons 1-3 of Fargo are some of my all time top television. I haven't gotten to S4 for yet for some reason. Kirsten Dunst never really stood out for me as an actress before, but she is a force of nature in this season. I was very impressed.
Great first episode! What a hook and cliffhanger! I'm elated that you two chose to jump right into it!
The actors in this season are all top notch.
Right back at it I see
Lots of this was filmed in Fort Macleod, Alberta Canada. If you loom closely you can see me 15 years ago doing a play in the theater by rhe 'butcher shop'. I did act there, but not in this masterpiece. Id have played a stepping stone if I was in the province when it was shooting, but damn if this series didn't shake me like a paint mixer. Everyone here clearly has great taste.
Kirsten Dunst and Jessie Plemmons actually MET on set for this season! There's a pretty funny story with actors that got involved irl in Season 3, as well 😬
"Oh, it's him!"
Jessie Plemons shows a lot of his range this season. From absolute monster in Breaking Bad to poor Ed.
One of the greatest seasons of any show ever!
This is just stunningly good television. So good it takes my breath away.
I'd forgotten how good this was, you're in for a treat.
I feel obliged to point out the Aussie actor - Bear is actor Angus Sampson who is in Fury Road. He was also on the Aussie improv comedy show called 'Thank God You're Here'
I was hoping that today you will drop your reaction to Fargo Season 02 Episode 01. And you guys did. How sweet. 🥂
Season 2 is a masterpiece. A lot of great Easter Eggs you will likely have to circle back to. As we near the end though I will have to alert you (not spoil) just alert you to something to tuck into the forefront of the mind so you don't completely miss it. But yeah, amazing season. And again, season 3 is highly underrated. And brings back a fan favorite character from season 1.
There are four seasons so far - they're different but all are linked in cool ways - and they're all great~
I'm so excited for season five starts in November!
1 of my favorite seasons of anything ever. Perfection.
There was a particular obsession surrounding UFO 🛸 sightings in the 70’s. This show does a superb job of portraying a novel and engaging story while simultaneously capturing the mood of the time it’s set in. Masterful storytelling, the kind that’s abandoned Hollywood in recent years. Fargo and True Detective are the bar for crime dramas.
Hamburger Helper & Tater Tots...typical 1979 supper. But it should've been on tv trays in front of the TV.😋
Yay, so glad to see this reaction to season 2 up so soon!!!
All due respect to season 1, but season 2 is the greatest season of the Fargo ever. Patrick Wilson as a young Lou is my favorite protagonist in all of the Fargo universe.
Perfect casting with both him & Keith Carradine in S1.
@@eighthdoctor absolutely!
Yay!!!
It’s great to see more people discover Fargo. I feel like this show kinda got lost in the shuffle of the “Peak TV” era, I think that if these first few seasons came out in the late 90’s or early 00’s this show would be regarded as on the level of The Wire or The Sopranos
It's such a small thing, but one of the best things this episode does is it recaps things at the end. The show knows that we have just been bombarded with a ton of new characters, so it does a good job of recapping some of the names and motives at the end, that way you don't get too overwhelmed. That's a writing device that more TV shows should employ.
Part of what i live zbout this season is the 1970s setting. I love when modern movies and TV shows are set in the 70s.
YES! My fave season! Let's goooooo! 😃👍
"There's two ways this can go.."
"Is one of 'em the hard way?"
The judge was what once would've been called a great old broad. It's a shame she didn't get to stick around a bit longer. She would've been entertaining, to say the least.😉
The car driving away with the person still alive on the hood is taken from real life. Someone really did that.
In the 90s.
Mike Milligan & The Kitchen Brothers (gangsters, not a prog rock band) are great villains this season...you'll see 🙂
Kirsten Dunst is AMAZING in this!
Good to roll on with this...looking forward to doing this every week with you folks.
Ted Danson is a National Treasure. Everything that man is in is amazing.
I didnt used to like him very much before. After this season i became a big fan. I also cant see him do no wrong either now. He improved like fine wine.
Another great Fargo adventure about to begin. This might be better than season 2. You will quickly find each season, though not chronological, there are many connections.
it's a jolt coming from the first season with all the new characters but don't worry, it pulls you in very quickly. Welcome to mad Peggy haha. Kirsten Dunst is terrific in this series as are all the cast. A wild ride coming up.
It’s better than season 1. So no worries 😎 So many cool Easter eggs in this season you can check out afterwards. The Fargo fan base is deep son!
Love this show and love the channel!!!
AWWWW YEAH. Here we go! So looking forward to this season (and the others)!
Awesome!!! This is gonna be a fun season reaction!
My favourite season -mostly for Hanzee the Native American - and for the chaos of Peggy and her aspirations!
Season 2 of Fargo is my favorite single season of any TV show... ever. Glad you are getting to it.
When I first started watching Fargo, it was in this season, and I only caught up with season 1 when you guys started watching. It was a trip seeing "old" Lou after only knowing this version. It's a great season, looking forward to seeing your reactions!
Here we go!
"They're married in real life"
Yes and this is where they met.
Kirsten dunst! Ed Warren!! Ray Romanos brother!! Ohhh myyy!!! 😂
I won't tell y'all anything because they are technically spoilers, but man, y'all are in for a treat 😅.
season 2 is a masterpiece
I was very surprised to see Saul Tigh (Michael Hogan) from Battlestar Galactica here :)
I was so disappointed when I first watched this and the judge got killed. Such a great character already with only the few lines she had.
Ooooh!! GREAT! I loved watching season 1 with u guys. Glad we’re keeping it going!
Can't wait for you to see Zahn McClarnon as Hanzee!
THIS SEASON
Is tha REAL ONE
I didn't like the season the first time I watched it - I was distracted thinking the mom would die on screen. But the second time, the third time, and many more times watching this season on DVD and streaming... I loved it more and more, the best out of all four seasons.
lou solversons uniform is so 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥i remember exclaiming so loud when i first saw it. that color!!! gorgeous
15:18 - Probably my favourite scene of the whole show. Her timidly driving into the garage as usual, stopping when the tennis ball hits his buttocks. xD
The strangest thing is that the events of this episode REALLY are based on facts. Including the transportation of the corpse on the hood to the house and the visit of the UFO. There is a lot of information about this on the web - it's easy to verify.
I am so excited for this!
Top tier television here 🌀🌀🌀✊✊✊ Favorite season hands down!
YES!
HERE WE GO!!
Oh, it gets crazy!
It takes some adjusting since you get really invested in the first season (not just characters and setting, but the tone is different), but I ended up liking this season even more!
I would love to see reactions to Star Trek on this channel.
My favorite season
I had wishful thinking that we could get Twin Peaks this time. Any chance of you doing 2 shows and 1 movie? 😅
Oh god yes! Twin Peaks would be amazing.
I know Jesse Plemons is a talented actor but every time I see him I think of Todd from Breaking Bad and I instantly despise him 😂
I'm excited for this season! Episode 9 is one of my favorite tv episodes of any show along with Episode 9 of season 4. And I'm not sure about the UFO but it's weird that they referenced Ronald Reagan and he was known for having had a UFO experience in 1974.
Season 5 drops in NOVEMBER!! I can’t wait! I own the first 3 seasons on DVD and have to look for the 4th to own.
Kirsten Dunst was amazing in this. If you liked her in this, you'll LOVE her in _On Becoming a God in Central Florida_ haha. Great little one-season series, and Kirsten's character was stunning and dangerous as sweaty dynamite. Oh my. So sad they didn't do a followup season or two. Hilarious and dark. Easily as good as any season of _Fargo_ - which we all love hehe.
Would love to see you guys react to it, it likely wouldn't win a poll only because no one seems know about it lol. One of those little-known gems like Netflix' _Godless_ .
Christmas came early..😊
This is my fav season, it's sooo good!!
Mike Milligan and the Kitchen Brothers here we come!
One of the best television season ever.
UFO 🛸
12:32 Jessie Pinkmen LMFAO
I read that Jesse Plemons met Kirsten Dunst on Fargo season 2
Just going to point this out: The story is set in 1979. Early on in this episode one guy calls Kieran Culkin Short Round. Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom didn't come out until 1984. That was the first time I'd ever heard the name Short Round.
Short round used to be a nickname for short people that beczme out of fashion in the 80s. It is concievable people in the 70s born in the 40s and 50s still used such slurs.
Damn I totally forgot Kieran Culkin was in this. So used to seeing him as Roman now.
Jesse Plemmons, he played Todd in Breaking Bad.
I need you two to go as Ed & Peggy for Halloween.
