- Joni talks about something more precious than just living in a physical body.
Matthew 18:8-9 "If your hand or your foot causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life maimed or crippled than to have two hands or two feet and be thrown into eternal fire. 9 And if your eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into the fire of hell."
Joni, the day before I became a paraplegic my daily devotion was Matthew 18:8-9, I don't know why but after that devotion I broke out crying. I told God I had been a miserable failure and gave him permission to do in me whatever it took, because I couldn't do good on my own. The next day I was in the ditch with a T4 complete spinal cord injury. God prepared me the morning before my June 12, 2014 injury.
How awesome a message, and praise God for her. Her super husband and family and friends. We are all blessed because of them, our precious Jesus, and opportunities God has given to her and her husband of many years. Thank you Jesus!!!
My daughter,Christie,at age 2 wondered why Joni didn't just get new batteries to get moving again.I wrote to Joni to tell her and she then mentioned me and Christie on the radio.

Thank you for sharing this. Sometimes we forget just how fortunate we are to be apart of life. We each have struggles in life. Some may seem harder than others. The good book tells me that He doesn't put on our shoulders more than we can bare. I find myself leaning on that. Keep the faith. Again thanks for sharing.

A true inspiration To the suffientcy of Gods Grace. I'm suffering big time. God has showed me His Grace. my Hope is in my Salvation Through the Lord Jesus Christ The one who hung on the Cross for Me. I will see this Beautiful lady in Heaven.

To those of you who doubt what God can do
You ask the question "why not heal her 100%?"
Why heal her 100% when her hardship is what leads her to eternity? Healing her would not save her. Everyone dies. This life does not matter. Sometimes we have to have our lives radically changed to have our perspective set in the right way.
We are not happy in spite of our hardships. Rather, our hardships give us the ability to be happy.

If you're not inspired by her staying the course of being true to the biblical gospel after what happened to her...u don't have a heart beat. truly an inspiration to people like her and also to people who find everyday ups and downs in life difficult. Bless her and those around her that supported her during HER time of need. Thanks for your inspiration

I read her book when i was teen back in Brazil, and her experience touch me so much. I keep follow watever from her. God is amazing i can see the way He work in lives. Bless her life always.

The scripture she quoted about “ In everything give thanks...” it didn’t say FOR everything or FEEL thankful... it says “IN” everything give thanks. So no matter what difficulties or hardships we are IN; for we all have them- but while we are in it, not to complain, not to get bitter, not to blame God or anyone, but just to give thanks because this too shall pass, everything changes, so keeping a right and positive, hopeful and thankful attitude in everything is what will bring us through and glorify God and make us stronger and better people.
Joni is a beautiful talented genius who made a difference in many people's lives!

@Saul Williams God the Father chose this path for her and she has accepted the calling. She will be whole again and have a special place with our Father and his son our LORD and messiah Jesus/Yeshua/Yahushua
in heaven. & her heart is whole and at peace. physically disabled doesn't mean emotionally and spiritually.

Well I'm not a quadriplegic but I'm single and I don't think there's much hope for me to to find love and marry anymore.
that's not a hopeful and positive statement. You got to think of how you can help others and serve others and the less we think of ourselves the more you realize it's not about us. I struggle with singleness too, but you know what , when you are forced to realize that only God can fill the hole in your soul... your thankful you didn't get what you wanted when you want it. Ask Jesus to show you the plan for your life and keep trying hard to live a life of joy. Try gratefulness as hard as it is to do sometimes. We have so much, when we could have nothing. maybe you'll find marriage, maybe you won't, but in the end the most important thing in the world is a relationship with God who loves you deeply and intimately. Who chose your life path before you were born and apart from your own realization in our human finite mind, He uses all for our best, for our good.
I'm single too, and have a conviction that I will probably be that way for life. I don't know 100% of course, it's just a sense I get and that's hard to accept especially with friends around getting married and I'm nearly 40..everyones sufferings are unique and theres people better or worse off than us but what she said about thanksgiving is the key to rising up above it. You have to give your whole life over to it because your feelings will be up and down. You can have no arms and legs and be super happy person because thats just how you are, or you can be depressed and want to kill yourself because your nose is too big or whatever...it really comes down to whats going on inside. I know that I've have bad depression in the past and slowly it got better over time but even now I have to be a person that fights for joy with thanksgiving and just giving my life to God every day in obedience.

@Brucev7 Thanks for the reply....When I was down. I found her plight incredibly inspiring. To this day you've gotta stay the course even though things look like they're not working. You're touching people's live's even if you think you're not. People are taking notice..even though their stubborness & pride won't allow them to admit it.
Hope you get to see it. I read that book sometime ago....i actually might get it off my shelf and read again sometime. You are right...it is excellent :-)

@ThePaigePixie She explained that she is paralyzed below the 4th neck vertebrae and has some shoulder and bicep control ( she worked hard to use that small capability move her arms).

@brunetachka yes but whyh should we suffer if god loves us anyway that is my point, god can do anything, therefore he could change the divine plan so that we should not have to suffer. the truth is we all die, we experienced death before birth and will experience it afterwards, mortality is a fact, part of the human experience, i do not blame this woman for hoping that she will experience a better life after this one, although she is not speaking truth, our lives are short and full of suffering
@kirbienstien if God had healed her 100%, would she have learned to lean on Him? would she have discovered what a true relationship with God is? and would she have this amazing testimony to go along with her disability? Romans 8:28 "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."

@reeny2 ino its stupid and their logic is twisted, if god really loved her he would perform a miracle and make her walk again. but obviously there is no god, however if false hope makes people happy, then i should just probably let them live on hope
Saul Williams Think about this for a minute. Consider the thousands of people that never would have been blessed without her accident. All the people in third world countries who never would have received wheelchairs because Joni would not have started her foundation. All the other quads that could be dead now had Joni not ministered to them. THAT is God. Logic does not apply with God. His reasoning is far beyond our understanding. That’s what makes Him God.
I think this woman is amazing and lovely - and an inspiration. But SHE deserves the credit, not her imaginary friend.

That is not true. Our bodies and souls both are for God and the earth. That's the whole point of the Resurrection of the dead. You were created to be a human in a body, and will be so for eternity. Those without their bodies right now are not complete, and still under the punishment of death..."For the wages of sin is death." But we will all not stay spirits in Heaven the way Heaven is now. We will be in bodies on a renewed earth.
Not sure what kind of science you have been studying, but I am a 3rd year biology student at a university, and I see no arrow pointing to a creator of any type, in fact the more I study my field of science, the less I believe in a creator.
