This version of Bad Spell is 100% pure blues honey. 😻 Love the dramatic, soulful vocals that invoke so much feeling. ❤ Love the deeply blue mood setting Dobro instrumental with so much feeling as well. ❤ This is where the blues not only lives but thrives. 👍👍👍👍👍
@@smoothsugardevil Tyler is their recording engineer that's different. He tagged the people involved in his instagram post. It's the same team that worked on Blood Harmony.
They have a wealth of great songs in their catalog, but Bad Spell is special. Outstanding composition. The original is classic, but this version captures the spirit of the lyrics beautifully. It’s haunting
Larkin Poe covering one of their own while paying respect to the original and giving it their own twist. Checks out, put it on the tip of the hat playlist! So excited to see them live in my hometown and having a meet and greet in october. I've been following LP for a few years now and because of the kinsiders (The Warning Army too to be honest) I decided to post my first ever comment wanting to be a part of your lovely community ☺
@@audiophileman7047Touché! I could sneak out of this trap saying I just meant the song. But the ladies gave birth to it. So you are right. Brava ladies! You made it again!
just when you think you know where these two are going, i.e. more to the blues rock end of things, they strip it back do this soulful intense acoustic version. (I do like the way the production builds towards the end)
That is possibly the best acoustic rework I've ever heard. So often artists release an acoustic version and it's just the same as the electric but with acoustic guitars. Not you. The delivery, the vocals, everything was reworked and it was brilliant! Love it. Really appreciate your musical artistry.
These Ladies, they still spread the light and hope, as long as such beautiful women and music are still alive, then there is chance for humanity... love & piece !
Just wow, love Megan bringing out the dobro. It carries such a hauntingly beautiful sound combined with Rebecca's voice. This is another excellent display of y'all's talent. Thank you for sharing it with us mere mortals.
Fantastic, Stupendous, 4 out of 4 stars, better than the electric version....I always think how any song I hear would be successful in 1970 and this version definitely would be welcome alongside any from that era.
The night of the lone star is a calling to the night. Lit up like a candle with no other in sight. Following your trail, you lead me away. I'll sit under you for a while and then go my way. Lone star. You must shine for another. Like a lonely one, do you look for a lover. You must be one in a million. Shining above like a billion. Lone star.
This song reminds me - melodywise - of those worksongs used to give rhythm to prisoners breaking rocks/stones, etc. Like in the movie O Brother, where art thou. The sheer talent put into this kicks off the ceiling so to speak. It's not just the mood, but also the voice(s), the instrument, the acousticness, the video, the genre, so everything. Anyway, kudos.
Nicely done. The acoustic slide sounds fabulous and is a stunning instrument as well. The acoustic treatment works well for these more intimate videos.
Ooof, what to say... sooo much strike and flow going on in here. Space and clarity too. The changes in the bridge are _super_ cool with a little Dream On flourish. Looooove! That is all...
I discovered the sisters something like 5 years ago. And I'm about to join the crowd on the main floor of the Olympia's Theater on the 15th of October, this year, in Paris. My lil'bro and my big sis could not get free to join me see this concert. I hope, as a music lover, I'll find people there to talk with, to share that interest for high level instrumental performance :) Moreover, that could be a great opportunity to use this tongue, I mean English tongue, with english speaking natives ^^ That's something I have always been missing. See ya there, people !
Very different from previous albums. Their voices at their best, blend in perfect harmonies, taking on additional amplitude, depth and richness. The guitars are melting perfectly. Beautiful arrangements, sounds and production! A new signature, overwhelming touching ep album! Your talent is exploding in this ep = this is my humble opinion of a music passionate lover.
Saw them live in Munich yesterday and it was such an awesome show, so much energy and passion and the live versions were like 1000x better than the studio recordings.
You two are so talented! It's obvious that you have worked really hard over years to hone your craft. I'm truly impressed at how easy you make it look (and I know it isn't easy to craft songs like this, much less perform them so well!). I'm going to your website now to see if there's anything from your catalog that I don't already own.
Just saw them yesterday at the MMRBQ concert in Camden NJ. They got a whole bunch of new fans! Myself included. They were unreal live! Their recordings are amazing!
Just when you think it can't get any better, Larkin Poe comes around the corner with a new gem.
That voice, I just can’t get over that wonderful voice.

Rebecca and Megan take a Bad Spell and make lemonade out of it 💙💙
Southern Comfort style.
You sure got that right. 👍👍👍@@frankboyd.
Whoever mixed this song deserves a raise.
Mixed and orchestrated! The instruments and what they are doing fit in so very well with each other and the vocals ....
Pretty sure Rebecca and Megan do it all themselves.
@@davidnettleton3375 they don't, actually you share a first name with the mix engineer
As far as I know they did it themselves with Tyler Bryant, Rebeccas husband.

This belongs in a Southern gothic suspense movie. This tune is stirring, murky and deep. Love it!!!! ✨🔥❤
Like True Detective soundtrack or something

This acoustic version is fire. 🔥 I think I like it better than the original.
IT BELONGS IN A MUSEUM
Don't know about that but it belongs in my head. Sorry, feed.
So much respect for these lovely ladies. Breathtaking talent!!!❤
She could sing about anything and make it sound good
Larkin Poe is giving me goosebumps on my goosebumps with this deep blues version.
💙💙 Beautiful heavenly photography.
As BB King once said, "How blue can you get?" The answer is clearly Larkin Poe. 🎸🎸🎸
Thought all they had on their back, bones. Now guitars. Megan's attempt at playing behind back Hendrix style 😍
Raw and stripped down. And extreme intense! Love it!
Wow, just wow. So much space in this song but it still grooves and what a vibe. Creative and brave.
They have a wealth of great songs in their catalog, but Bad Spell is special. Outstanding composition. The original is classic, but this version captures the spirit of the lyrics beautifully. It’s haunting
Wow. Fantastic stuff. These two have the blues in their veins for two women so young.
I just listened to this four times; incredible!
God damn, you two can't put a foot wrong 😊 Marvellous stuff 👏 👍

Rebecca’s vocals always put me under the baddest spell of them all! 🖤⚡️🖤
Surprisingly different. But as we all know: LP songs are living things. Bravo!
Living, breathing, growing.
And when you least expect it,
that beautiful red dobro reappears like a holy grail.
Are you sure you didn't mean "brava"? Regardless, the blues never fails to surprise and fascinate, especially when LP is at the helm. 🎸😎

Oh yeah! 🙌
I've been saying it for years, the contemporary blues musicians should do a little bit more acoustic recordings.
That is possibly the best acoustic rework I've ever heard. So often artists release an acoustic version and it's just the same as the electric but with acoustic guitars. Not you. I love that you didn’t just do the same song acoustically. You arranged the song for acoustic. Awesome.

Absolutely love🥰 this acoustic version! I look forward to see you in London (UK)!

One month to go to see this amazing Ladies live in Munich! So much f***ing talent!
Holy heck, the vocals on this one!
