Stunning… I’ve got tears, goosebumps and a big smile. A very few musicians have the courage and talent to go with this simple of production values. After buying LPs for nearly 60 years, I believe that these girls are clearly in the very upper echelon of all-timers.
Yes, you're right JED. I include LP in my list of very favorite bands of all time, bands like Pink Floyd, The Doors, Led Zeppelin, Rush, Black Sabbath, Lightnin' Hopkins, Freddie King, Muddy Waters, and so many others.
The least listened song of the album on spotify. I am totally addicted to this one! When i hear this song i turn up the bass, imagine i'm at a festival on a blazing hot summer day and feel the music in my whole body I Fucking love it
You can call Lips As Cold As Diamond blues, but it is something truly spooky. It conjures up abandonment, dryness, cold, darkness, and desolation. Everything is missing except for the loss and pain and its resulting tragic conclusion. This song's stirring music and Edgar Alan Poe like poetic lyrics is what musical art is all about. Very well done, Rebecca & Megan! 👍💖🎸😎

@@JohnStoneman100 I just can’t get into his music. I also think Rebecca and Megan have some really great songs, scattered among just average ones. Live, they could play anything, and it’s a killer show, but the songwriting quality fluctuates a lot. I still don’t understand why they never did a proper studio version, of Mad As A Hatter. It was so far beyond their other songs, when I heard it l, nearly a decade ago now, but they recorded lesser songs, snd tried to promote them instead. That song’s subject matter, as well as the hooks they have within it, are just excellent. Yet, they don’t even play it anymore. Probably, think of it as something from their younger days. The biggest video they have, for any song, is a live version, from 6 or 7 years ago.
Y'all saved this little morsel for release day. My my my my myyyyy. What we have here is Award Winning caliber song by the dynamic duo sisters. Praise the Lord for y'all having this talent and sharing it with the world. Keep doing what y'all do. Stay low on the stress and high on the happiness. :)
By chance I came across this album and I must admit, that I didn't know them before. For me this is definitely the album of the year: So full of soul and musicality!
Now my favourite song on album such a beautiful song from to very talented women Rabeca's voice is fantastic Megan's gutare is so haunting beautiful song
This is such a hauntingly beautiful song. Brings visions of riding the desert horseback in the old west reminiscing about a love gone bad and hoping to find a cool drink of water for you and your horse very soon.
when I was young, I used to watch western movies with my father and I dreamed of this kind of music, thanks to you two girls, I can remember those moments. And above all we'll see you tomorrow in Paris!!!!!
I'm a music lover through and through, and I have to say these ladies are amazing. Love their music! This album is one of the best from beginning to the end, that I've listened to in a long time. Thank you!
Glad I saved this cut for last of the ones released today. What great composition, arrangement, production and musicianship. I am completely awed by the work put into this alnum. 🤘
WOW!!! I could feel the moist night air and warm breeze bringing goosebumps to my skin and tears to my heart. So rich and dark truly powerful. You girls got this thing down big time. I think this may be the best album you've done.
Dare I say, perhaps the best "Larkin Poe" tune on the album??? You may disagree, but may I sugest you go back into their catalog and listen again: Kin: Dandelion Reskinned: When God Closes A Door & Blunt Venom & Faith: California King Peach: Look Away Self Made Man: Every Bird That Fly's BTW... really love this album cover!!!!
I agree in that this is the best piece on album "Blood Harmony" - imho a close match with "Deep Stays Down", followed with some distance by "Blood Harmony". I also agree with "Look Away" (album "Peach"). However, for my taste "Preachin' Blues" and "John the Revelator" are close matches. Album "Kin" is in my opinion one of the weakest albums, and I disagree with "Dandelion" which I even don't list among the pieces I find good on that album. On that album, I like "Jailbreak" by far most. I have not yet listened through the other albums systematically (discovered Larkin Poe only a few months ago), so for the moment I don't have a solid opinion about those albums. On Venom & Faith, though, I definitely like "Bleach Blonde Bottle Blues", "Mississippi" and "Hard Time Killing Floor Blues" very much. I just listened the first time to "California King", I find it at least a strong piece on that album - and the whole album seems to me to be one of the best. When I discovered Larkin Poe in last years September, the effect was that I listened uncounted hours to them and could't stop it. I completely forgot what I wanted to do that day... 🤩
enchanting sound... and again I like the pieces with rather few musical means addendum: listening to this song I can grind granite just with my raw skin...
I swore they were doing a cover of "Axe" by The Steel Woods. But then it turned out to be a beast on its own. Love it. By the way, if you love this one, go and listen to Axe by the Steel Woods, you're not gonna be disappointed.
There's a train leaving the station. It's carrying enough money to supply a nation. That money train is moving slow. But it's got the momentum to keep things in tow. Money train you arrive on time. Saving some lives because time. Time is not a crime. Well boots shed and then you wallow. That money train is coming up past the hollow.
This song is not just a gem, it's a crown jewel (same as "Deep Stays Down" on the same album).
Rebecca's voice always gives me chills.
The best female singer on the music scene today in my humble opinion. A powerhouse voice that can belt or croon with passion and authority.
Stunning… I’ve got tears, goosebumps and a big smile. A very few musicians have the courage and talent to go with this simple of production values. After buying LPs for nearly 60 years, I believe that these girls are clearly in the very upper echelon of all-timers.

Two beautiful and very talented young women creating some of the most incredible music one could ever wish to hear!!!💕🔥💕
😍😍🎸🎸♥♥
OMG!!! This track gave me goosebumps. Sooo good.
🔥🔥❤️❤️❤️🔥🔥
the best song on the album. so beautiful
Beautiful haunting ballad.
Yes, it is a haunting ballad! I'm not so sure about the beauty. As stated in my post to this video, I see something far more tragic.

a genuine goosebump song - maybe their best lyrics since Tears of Blue to Gold, and genuinely eerie ethereal slide queen

What a way to close out a great record! Love that bit of reverb on the guitar, and the singing and slide are from the dark side. Never cold.

That is my kind of music. Loud and rocking is ok for a bit, but slow and soulful with understated production gets me every time
Creepily good, reminds me a bit of "Good and Gone"...Maybe that's why it's fascinating to me...😍😍🎸🎸
