Capt. Kristin "BEO" Wolfe give us the very first detailed walkaroud explination of the F-35 Lightning II Fighter! I can't thank "BEO" and the entire F-35 Demo Team for taking the time in the very hot Texas heat, to make this video!!
I love how excited she is! It’s always wonderful to hear someone talk about their passion! Thanks to Erik and BEO!
Emmanuel Ponce ahhhh....ummmm...Roger that?
@@emmanuelponce9151 Autistic!
Obviously....lol. I enjoyed that walkaround. Its not often the public are allowed to get that close to an F-35

I watched her put on one hell of a show back in July. Amazing capabilities, aircraft and pilot. The F-22 demo was equally if not even a little more impressive.
Gorgeous sleek aircraft, amazing quantity of equipment jammed into a deceptively large body fighter. Noticeable that Erik and ‘BEO’ standing off some ten feet away emphasises the still classified parts the Air Force rightly still protecting. Great job as always.
Inspiring to see Beo, lady warrior here! So much qualifications, schooling, & studies to even be considered to fly this! Yet bravery & courage is timeless......
Major Kristin Wolfe is the Commander, F-35A Lightning II Demonstration Team, 388th Fighter Wing, Hill Air Force Base, Utah. The mission of the F-35A Lightning II Demonstration team is to showcase the unique aerial capabilities of the Air Force’s most advanced 5th generation multi-role stealth fighter, the F-35A Lightning II, as well as highlight the history of the Air Force’s service through heritage formation flights. Additionally, she provides operational oversight and direction for the 13-personnel team, to include maintenance, aircrew flight equipment, and public affairs Airmen.
Major Wolfe entered the Air Force in 2011 after receiving her commission from the U.S. Air Force Reserve Officer Training Program at the University of Alabama. She is an experienced fighter pilot with more than 800 flying hours in the F-22A Raptor and F-35A Lightning II. Her flying assignments include Undergraduate Pilot Training at Laughlin AFB, Texas, and fighter training in the F-22A at Langley AFB, Va., and operational assignments at Langley AFB, Va., and Hill Air Force Base, Utah.

tis a shame shes so hobbled on what shes allowed to talk about. you can tell shes constantly running through what shes allowed to talk about
Gmail X or it can they just don’t want to leak classified things.
@Commenter2 Not a chance!
@Gmail X thats right ! if can do far far more
She still seems to imply that the AIM-9X can't be carried internally. Not something you'd want enemies to know.
@@thomasjoyce7910 well some things are common sense with this sort of aircraft. if the f22 can carry em internally then odds are this one can too
China watching this video: “write that down! Write that down!”
About the only thing I can see them writing down is allies are circles and enemies are bogies haha
TBH if china had the full Blue print they would still be unable to produce it. They lack everything required to build at this level, advanced composite material, avionics, radar (they can't even reproduce 4th gen russian turbofans) and then you need a skilled workforce.

Cool video. Still amazed that the helmet alone is $400k. Wow.
I think with today technologies China can build an exact copy or a better one for $4k lol.
@@brockoala2994 true 😂
tax munies
The jet engine is over $10 million so the helmet makes sense to me.
@@brockoala2994 Nah they will just claim they have something better like always when in reality it's some POS (if you know u know) plane that goes mach 0.01 and is barely maneuverable.
I love the view of the aircraft and even more the very informative explanation by Beo Wulfe. The helmet is the most impressive feature, I think. Thanks for this great video!
The F-35 has always left me a little cold, this presentation warmed me up a bit...
Seems most of its advances over previous craft are in its ability to relay situational data to a web of connected aircraft, so it kind of develops a hive mind. Not as "sexy" to talk about.
Travoid this is the thing a lot of people don’t understand. The USAF did a study a while back and found that 90% of pilots shot down even as far back as WWII never saw the plane or missile that hit them. Being stealthy, seeing the enemy first, and having versatile and powerful weapons has become more important than outright performance. Between active and passive radar and IRST, the F-35 will doubtless be able to see any current or near future fighter before the enemy sees it. Combine that with the coming lock-on-after-launch capability with the new block of AIM-9X and you have a fighter that can passively detect an enemy with IRST, and the pilot can fire a missile without looking down at the panel, even if the enemy is behind the F-35A due to the off-boresight capability of the new missiles.
@@dheujsnrhfydhehehshshhdggsd how's it like to live in a cave?
We are waiting for them in Poland! 32 machines are ordered already 💪
She can fly the hell out of that thing. She's very talented.
It's good to know that my F35 shirt was in the internal weapons bay of the F35 I saw Kristin fly at Oshkosh this year.
Beautiful walkaround! Perfect for using as a reference, I was able to complete a game-build of the plane because of it. Also amazing commentary!
Great presentation of the F-35 , so many things on this new fighter-jet , so sofisticate and so manouvrable , a lot of technology on the bord of this plane . Great job to flying this jet !👍
AWESOME! I was USAF 18 Years!! LOVE JETS!!!
F-35C also have bigger wings for slower approach speeds to the carrier.
Wings also fold on the CV.
@@dheujsnrhfydhehehshshhdggsd I don’t see what fanboying over the F-35 has to do with anything. The dude just stated a fun fact, give him a break.

@@dheujsnrhfydhehehshshhdggsd Soldiers won't die because "they can't get air support." Surprise, the A-10 is slow and vulnerable to modern AA. It can tank 23s from the ZSU of yesteryear, but against any modern military that includes MANPADS or more modern AA into their equipment, the A-10 doesn't stand much of a chance. The A-10 works *amazingly* against Hajis in Toyota technicals and a bunch of guys in pajamas with RPGs and AKs. It worked really well against the Iraqis in the Gulf. But in a war against something like China? It just wouldn't go well. The F-35's information systems and sensors give it more precision. It doesn't need a big fuck off 30mm gun and a shitload of GBUs and Hydras and AGMs. It needs a few laser-guided munitions to drop down on a single position with surgical precision. The A-10 isn't bad. I'm not saying it's bad. It's an effective tool for a doctrine that no longer fits the current paradigm. Speed and munitions aren't what the Air Force cares about now. The Air Force cares about stealth, electronics, sensors, and information. Sure, speed is important, but the ultimate priority now is stealth and electronics and information. If you can lock an enemy but they can't lock you, you've already won. That's why the Raptor absolutely fucks on every jet it goes against. That's why the F-35 is effective.
The A-10 is like an M1 Garand. It's not bad. Nobody could ever ague it's a bad piece of equipment. But doctrine and times have changed. We need something new and more effective for the situations we'll be facing if we get into war with a more modern military. I'd rather need one bomb dropped on a position with perfect precision the first time around than have a few gun runs and passes done by an aircraft. One bomb compared to a bunch of rounds and some rockets. I'll take the one precise bomb any day of the week. Because that one bomb landing on a Chinese tank spells death for the Chicoms inside. It spells death for any group of insurgents in a building. It spells death for a T-90. It will destroy any bridge or point that requires precision.
I want the A-10 to still see use somehow. It's still effective at COIN. Any further involvement against guerillas would be the perfect use case for an A-10. But until we end up in another asymmetric war, the F-35 or F-16 or F-15 would provide a lot better CAS. CAS doesn't mean the vehicle is in close proximity to the infantry, it means that they're hitting targets close to infantry. An MQ-9 could save you just as well as an F-35 just as well as an A-10.
"Beo" Wolfe.
Love it!
Just EAS'd from the Corp's after 5 years of working on these things, really great aircraft, mechanical & electrical issues are minimal to none.
@Jimmy De'Souza they're just normal screw fasteners and bolts. Not actual "rivets"
I was at Langley AFB and was invited by a F-35A driver to handle a flight helmet. It was extremely light, it didn't feel "real" somehow, almost as if it were made from paper mache or something.
Lady is so smooth and nice talking. I like her.
So excited for 5th gen fighters. So much technology.
doubt many more types will be built tho
You need to get your hands on a Howard 500 for a walk-around and in-depth cockpit tour!!

Do you want to be a Super Hero? Be able to fly, spit exploding bullets like dragon? Drop exploding pickles that guide themselves with pinpoint accuracy? Shoot down other flying aircraft without them even knowing what hit them? Oh did i forget to mention: u get to see through your own body... In thermal vision! As a bonus, u get to see where your friends and foes are where ever you would look, even if u can't see with Mark 1 eyeball.
Man, this is some Super Hero stuff.
And what if this is just a product for the engineers to fund their extra secret special project that would make F-35 just a joke? Imagine that...
Lastly, now when I know that people get to do such stuff, I want to restart my life and be a fighter pilot. Pitty this is not a game. Well, at least we have DCS World.
Respect to all the smart people that made these magnificent creations.
I did not realize they don't have a normal HUD. That helmet does sound awesome, I just thought it was like a normal HMCS.
After watching th warthog walkaround... And then seeing this lighting walkaround... It is huge difference quality of walkaround.
Yeah... I agree... A10 has no secrets. This thing has so many secrets lol
That's because she can't talk about many details. That's also why they're not allowed to film up close.
Wow she really gorgeous 😍
I would love to see a totally redesigned large stealthy F-14 E variant with two Pratt & Whitney F-135 engines :) But, what I would truly like, is a net-negative Mach 10 fighter using water/Aether of course.
That would be cool!

The das also allows for an advantage in a dogfight because if you try to sneak up on the F-35 from 6 o'clock low you can still be seen.

I want a carbon fiber helmet with a camera for dirt bike riding. The night vision would be cool too.
Great job Captain! Great video once again Erik!
12:45 Okay, is nobody gonna talk about the GA plane in the back?
Why? That F-35 is part of the demo team. So I'm pretty sure they're cleared for landing at civilian airports as well, don't you think?
@@kicksnarehats11 Can you imagine when that happens, though?
Like, as a Cessna pilot "Cleared to land, follow F-35 on short final"

nice, but does it come with cup holders?
Yes, 44oz big gulp minimum
I have over 200 hours logged in on microsoft flight sim X very few crash landings, what do I gotta do to take this for a spin?
Having the carbon fiber helmet also helps with fatigue by being light its not as hard on the neck at Gs
is that a plutonium banana in the tailpipe? well fook me.
So I'm sure there was a preset go/nogo distance around the jet but isn't it a demonstrator airframe/jet??? 🤔
Looking forward to this in Canadian/NORAD service. Will the Canadian model have that distinctive search light and false canopy?
No need for the searchlight with DAS and EOTS. You can see better with the current F-35 sensors than any searchlight on legacy fighters. You can count weapons from BVR.
I want one
Reminds me in terms of shape of a shrunk blackbird
So awesome,great channel and content
Hii there ccp
I believe that the F-35 was the most expensive military-procurement program in U.S. history. It was an ambitious project -- three variants with which to supply all of the armed forces. Unfortunately, none of them were reliable enough in the first few years to be of any tactical use.
"three variants with which to supply all of the armed forces" - already a thing with the F-111 and the F-4.
@@ChucksSEADnDEAD Perhaps, I don't claim to have knowledge of that. But I doubt that either of those programs cost just short of one trillion dollars.
@@waynefletcher9884 The Navy flew the F-111B and the lackluster performance lead to the project being canceled but you're right, it was meant as a two branch project, not three branch project. I was misremembering.
@@JMacQ77 The F-35 didn't cost a trillion dollars. The trillion dollars is the projected cost up until retirement.

Nice plane very hightec technology future is these kind of planes needs
Great work. Beautiful jet and I love this plane, but to a point. I almost feel that the aggression needed to fly jets and the danger and intensity involved is lessened. A good thing for the safety of the pilot, but it could destroy the masculinity of the fighter pilot community. I find it hard to get excited about possibly someday flying a jet that is a computer with wings.
Holy shit that is a big engine
the f35 is my fav jet
Cool fact about this plane is it is very easy to work on for ground crew.
Nice to see women doing this kind of work, dropping bombs and killing the enemy. I used to date a girl like this, same all American look, same confident personality.
Wow
I bet this kind of stealth makes it more fuel efficient
nope not even a little
Impressive!
Like the MiG-23UB walked video way much more technically informative. Yeah “Sweet-16, Colt-45 and USS Abraham Lincoln CVN-72” hence 16, 45, & 72 that is how I committed the MiG-23 wing sweep position to memory. 😎
For us grunts, I hope to see and A-10 overhead. Other wise its back to old school blood and guts.
Amen brother
I'd assume you'd take an F-35 overhead immediately vs. 10 minutes away for the A-10, no?
What does radar reflect off of?
90° angles.
Make a jet without any 90° angles.
Ta daa!
Iv heard about all jets and the F-35 is definitely the loudest.
Can confirm. I live under the pattern for Luke AFB (F-35 training base) and they are not easily ignored. An F-16 is a whisper comparatively.
I've heard the SR-71 still wins the loudest ever category, but I am too young to have caught one when they were in service.
my shoulder started twitching
I want to know how sharp that nose cone really is.... It looks sharp.
It's not sharp at all.
A lovely aeroplane.
Shortest walk-around in this channel
There was a lot we could not cover
Being an airforce demo pilot and flying fair weather on two mile long runways is not admirable !!! Its the Navy pilots that have tremendious skills and bravory !!! They land on a pitching aircraft carrier at night in a storm !!!!
