Yes there is no formalised institution of engagement where the couple can hang out and date. Without commitment there is no such thing as removing those barriers and things. What is allowed, it makes it so they can’t be proposed to by someone else and also playing the field- asking other people. Does allow for something with parental consent and supervision, the couple is engaged and go out with their wali, that should be understood that there wali is there and nothing inappropriate is happening. This includes comparability and asking questions for work, what you do in your free time. Can allow for a private conversation, in a semi room, any time a parent can walk in and not be embarrassed. Does include email and text messaging Skype, need to be extremely self disciplined,, even though intentions are pure, you need to make sure you still have boundaries, don’t reveal too much emotionally or physically and have a lot of taqwa. This doesn’t mean you don’t like the person etc. limits- it’s okay if we FaceTime only when my family is home or in my living room, we shouldn’t be texting past 9pm, only want to skype in the main computer not in my room.

Djazak Allahu khairan for these wonderfull videos! Right now i'm in the proces of engaging. This month the family will visit us for the second time in sha Allah. I saw him three times. I still don't feel anyting for him and I don't really feel a bond or something. I wonder if that will come.. If I can trust on their words, his deen and akhlaaq are good. He also has a job and house so that is good. He wants to sign nikah as soon as possible but I don't feel I'm totaly ready yet. I'm also not sure if we have talked enough about important topics. I hope the next video will be online soon in sha Allah because they are very helpfull!! It will be also very helpfull if a video series comes that talkes about this subjects in details.
