Love the Eros. It replaced my Precision Drive. Great stuff.

Glad to hear this, just bought an eros and was leaning towards precision drive.

Another comment cuz I have a question.... that's an overdrive or boost pedal, right? It totally beats my Maxon OD808 pedal! I like the low end added!

Yes sir, overdrive/boost. The added EQ is a super nice feature! I feel like the new OD pedals are more tailored to the amps of today, whereas the Masons and Screamers are just older tech. I mean they work for sure, but just seems to lack a little somethin’ somethin’. This is a good pedal, I’d say it’s cleaner and clearer than the Precision Drive and my TS.

@@jayramsdell8410 It seems like it adds the flavor that I've been looking for. I like to have deep low and not need to crank the gain up. The more that you turn up the gainknob... the more low end rumble you lose and you get less note definition. I'll have to look at the cost of that and get one.

Do you still prefer your Precision? I agree with you on this pedal cutting a ton of bass. I like this Eros with my Mark av Crunch channel a lot. I haven't quite gotten it dialed in for my BFG modded Dual Rec or PRS Archon. My Suhr Koko works pretty well too, and doesn't lose any Los. So you find the Precision cuts too much low end on your Kraken?
I guess it is so amp dependent. Thanks again. Appreciate it.
Ola does a good video with this pedal and he gets it great with his Roadster and he also does a video comparing a bunch of boosts and ODs and his Tube Screamer and Precision Drive sounded great.

I love this demo because EVERY OTHER DEMO IS DOING IT WRONG. They crank the level and then add no gain. It even says on KSRs website to NOT crank the level. I have my bass on my eros around 4/5 o clock, and treble fairly low as well. The tone at 5:20 is freaking good.

Great recorded sound man. What preamp / interface? Just sm57 + 609?

I use the Audient ID44, it’s a little pricey but worth every penny! Love that thing! Crystal clear! And yes just the Sm57 & E609.

Yes sir! Though I’m using it differently now. I’m using it in the loop as a solo boost.

I’m glad I finally saw this video. This is totally what I experienced. I could not get anything other than a dried out sound. Yes, it was tighter! Way tighter. but like you said, it just sucked the bottom out from the end. My peppers dirty tree would kill this pedal on the low end. Even my boss SD-1 would sound somewhat more organic with a bigger lower end. It was weird! I spent so much money on this pedal because it was praised so much! that’s why I kind of hate this. There was no way for me it’s test it without spending $240 on it. And then I was just stubborn trying to make it sound good on my rigs. where I should’ve just returned it, or sold it to someone who has something with a ridiculous low end like a dual rec. funny though, I used this with my PRS MT15, and it made that amp which has a ridiculous low end and super high aggression sound thin and tame. Actually, it made all of my amps sound the same. I used with my 5150 Bl, Orange TH30, MS VS8100, and the PRS

Hey, I noticed you had the Eros set to sound rather anemic. Looks like you had the gain at about 10:00. The gain is not a true gain control. While it adds a small amount of dirt, it mostly controls the impact of the EQ. So for example, you want the gain to be at least half way or at noon. This way it is allowing the EQ to have a greater impact over the tone and shaping of the sound. Below noon, and it gets very dry and anemic, almost like nothing is on. That's why it sounded so weak in this demo.
In all honestly, each of these pedals can be set to sound almost identical. There is a lot of hype in the pedal world. Turn that gain to at least noon or 12:00 on the Eros, and it will let the pedal and EQ section do what it is meant to do, and will sound so much better. This pedal replaced all my boosts, including the Precision.
