    I have the Direwolf mk2.. and it's by far one of the sickest and tightest ODs I've ever played.. love that pedal!! worth the 8 months I waited to get it.

    Love my savage drive and Eros. My favorite pedals

  • @Bognerman14
    @Bognerman14 3 года назад +2

    I struggled with the Eros and I replaced it with the Friedman Buxom. That pedal is sick. The Eros killed the lows in my amp, but lots of guys love it. I also picked up a Dire Wolf as like you said, it's got this old school organic warn like a tube screamer. Also love the JHS Bonsai. :) Good stuff my friend.

    • @PariahVSGear

      Thanks bud! The Eros is definitely a little tricky to dial in sometimes, and works best with certain amps and sounds, but I definitely love it still!

    All those over drives sound great. Eventually I'd like to get the savage drive and see how that sounds with the rg1503h (still haven't had time to fix it). Next week I'm picking up my son the Randall rx120rh half stack.

    I love your videos and taste man. Can't wait to see your neural dsp review as it'll be real and not over hyped, I'm a bit on the fence with it as what it promises is really good but some of the beta models in old reviews sounded really really digital

    Killer video as usual. Straight to the point. I myself have a savage drive boosting a 5150 block letter and i love it. But all these are killer pedals. If you play HEAVY im sure youll be perfectly fine with any of them. 🤘🏻

      Honeslty though I just enjoy the tone you get. Alot of what I hear in my head tone wise I get alot when I watch your channel. Granted I dont to emulate exactly I want to find my own things. But I do get alot of inspiration for tone and riffing from this channel. So thank you for that.

    Great video! Do you find you can get enough low end beef from thr Eros? To me I struggled to get it to be organic and with enough lows.

  • @theshredder456
    @theshredder456 3 года назад +1

    Do you think either Airis pedal would pair well with the KSR Ceres running into a poweramp. I do have a 6 band eq after the Ceres as well but it just cuts bass right now.

    • @PariahVSGear
      @PariahVSGear  3 года назад +1

      Hmm..I'd probably prefer using the Savage Drive with the Ceres PERSONALLY, but I think the Eros is one of the better drives for the Ceres. The Ceres needs so little help, that theore shaping options you have, the better. The Eros has the most control of the EQ shaping options of the drives I've used.

    • @theshredder456
      @theshredder456 3 года назад

      @@PariahVSGear Yeah, the Eros would normally be the first choice but being Canadian it would be roughly $400 cad after import, etc. Airis effects is in the same province as me and would be half the price. Thanks, love your channel!

    • @PariahVSGear
      @PariahVSGear  3 года назад +2

      I gotcha! You know I love the Airis stuff haha. My only real concern if point out is that the Parallel OD has WAY more volume available than the Ceres likes haha. So I default to recommending the Savage here, but it's possible that maybe the brutal series or something may be even better for the Ceres. Good luck bud!

  • @TannerVW
    @TannerVW 3 года назад +3

    I'm a huge Savage Drive fan, nothing hits my Tight Metal Pro or 6505 the same way. The Eros is super compelling here, probably my second favorite.
    One note about the tight control, turning it down actually makes it more tight. At full you're getting almost no volume boost or low end cut. As you lower it, the output and low end cut both increase. I generally lower the volume as I decrease the tight knob to compensate. It essentially behaves the exact opposite of the tight control on the Amptweaker pedals.

    • @PariahVSGear
      @PariahVSGear  3 года назад

      Really? If that's the case my ears/eyes Definitely deceived the heck out of me lol

    • @TannerVW
      @TannerVW 3 года назад

      @@PariahVSGear I can't find the manual online, but it came with my version of the pedal and says essentially that. To be fair, I spent a year with the Savage Drive before I feel like I really had it mastered. Haha All the controls interact with each other in weird ways.
      The dirt control is also more powerful than you'd expect. I left it off for a long while, but it doesn't act like a normal gain control. It doesn't add much in terms of gain, it insteads adds more output and compression. Putting dirt and volume both at noon leads to a super thick and punchy tone.
