Next week will be crazy. The gangsaw will be running. I’ll also be cutting 5/4 lumber. 8x8s and 6x6s The 6x6 can be end trimmed at the trimsaw. But 8x8s will be chainsawed
We have a lot of it on the farm, I use it for firewood. I have an outdoor stove so I can burn it fairly green cause once it dries up its like burning newspaper.
@randyballew8795 it really a lot like Ash. Fairly low moisture content it could pass off for ash lumber if a few boards got slipped in you’d have to really know your lumber to pick it out
Ya buddy I don’t cut a lot of lumber everything goes to the gsngsaw that trimsaw is a one man job. Unless there grade lumber. I’ll do a video when we cut Aspen. It gets pretty crazy
That would be cool. We just lost our gangsaw operator last year he retired And we have a 70 yr old that could retire anytime. And our grader is 62 so he plans on retiring soon They don’t make em like those guys anymore. Kids today just don’t want to work. It’s quite sad actually
Thank you very much!!!
Nice to see several parts of the operations. Thanks
Thank you
So again, another great video! Thank you for sharing! Dan
Thanks for watching Dan!
Watching the sorting floor is like watching a 3-ring circus. Lots going on at the same time.

One man trimming and piling. Thats my kind of job right there
lol do you want a job ?
@TheWildWestMill lol if you were a little closer near, absolutely
@ ya that’s too bad. We have a line bar resaw at the other mill. Isn’t that what you use to run?
@TheWildWestMill you are correct, it is what I used to run. It saws with a circle
That one log looked like hackberry
It sure was buddy. Most people don’t know that species

@TheWildWestMill yeah a fella would have to be on their game or they would not know which is which
Nice! So, personally, I think I would get bored standing around waiting for boards or cants....... I'm used to a faster pace....

If I lived your way, I'd come out of retirement to work in your mill, right off your circular saw, with a possible chance of hopeful Sawyer training!

I'll be 65 next year! You could always hire your retirees part time positions! Dan
The cant ends that are cut off and fall into the basket, what are they used for?
They are sold for firewood. Or if nobody buys grinded up for chips
I noticed the British flag hanging, what is Canada's close connection with the UK?
That’s the Ontario flag
Canada does have a close connection. Our money has the Queen on it
The official flag of Canada is the maple leaf. Some of the provincial flags still have the Union Jack symbol in them.
@@joeahopelto8032 that is correct buddy thanks I should of said that
What is the company address please?
Sorry man I’m not really interested in posting that on RUclips for everyone to see
