They say yes, some say no. My burning question has been for a while now, why do we need afreshwater licence to get rid of an introduced PEST? Basiclly we are paying to get rid of them for them. If you only target Redfin no licence should necessary. Your thoughts on that one
Pretty good point you make Russell. I guess the only reason I can go out and clean up on trout is partly due to funding from the freshwater licence fees paid.(happy to be corrected on that one). But on the other end of it, considering what has just happened with the dimersal bans and all that, it highlights a gross mismanagement of the fishery as a whole by the government. So your dead right mate, do they know what they are doing?
Hey mate another good video. 👍 Raises a lot of questions, yes or nay? Over here in Victoria we had a bag limit not that long ago. Go figure 🤔. I personally take all redfin if l can get a fillet of them. They are a quality fish to eat. I release all trout as l don't like the taste and it gives others a thrill to catch. Anyway each to there own. Look forward to your next video. 🤙🤙🤙🤙
Hey Lee, thanks mate. Pretty much you can release reddies in Wa, you just can't transport between waterways. It's encouraged by all departments to not release them and its pretty easy to see why. What was the bag limit in Vic?. Mate I lived in Albury Wodonga a long time back and never did any fresh water fishing for the 3 years I was there. Will have to get back and give it another crack. Thanks for the support mate.👍
@@wingitmissionfishingoutdoo6647 hey 👋 the bag limits were 20 per day oer person. Bagged out once or twice. Needed to keep them alive incase you went over limit then sort them for the largest ones. This bag limit didn't last to long though. I think the fisheries realised it was ridiculous. Anyway tight lines. Cheers ✋
Why is it so hard for some people to do any easy search of the rules and regulations. This is from the dep of fisheries WA REDFIN No bag limit - it is recommended that they are not returned to the water and are humanely euthanased with dead fish not left on the shore. So it is not illegal to put a fish back in the water but it is recommended not to put them back.
@@wingitmissionfishingoutdoo6647 I allways invison people are thinking your going to do something like throw one back and a ranger will fly in on a chopper with armed police 🤣
Its simple. Do the right thing and DON'T throw them back. Creators should be showing the right thing. My understanding of the rules is its a requirement to not return them. It may not be illegal but do you want to push the issue with authorities?

They are all introduced species some states say put Redfin back others not. I take all Redfin home good eating depends on the state follow rules.
Fantastic eating fish for sure, thanks for watching and your feedback, appreciate it. Hoping to get back out on the water soon.

@@thebob3712 for sure mate, alot of people find simple things tough these days. Your summary is spot on. Thanks for watching.
Choice
Do these lures dive as you reel them in or stay near the surface
The Poltergeist lures dive for sure so you have to allow them to float up as you are winding in
its suggested not throw them back its best practice but throwing one back aint going to change things lol
Yep couldnt agree more, thanks for watching 👍

Hahaha love the ending. That's gold! 🤣
Dumbass.

If you dont release the small ones then youll have nothing to catch!
Haha, they are bloody hard to fillet when tbey are small but if you get a few they still make a good feed.👍
