    I'm not a big commenter however, I am currently on a 3 month travel assignment ( day 2). I decided to use this time to begin my fitness journey, I was totally lost on eating/cooking and workouts. This video was super helpful and I absolutely purchased your book man! THANKS 100x!

      @@NyvekStJames You're welcome! Hope it helps. What jobs is work do you do? If you're in transportation, calf raises and grip exercises are great to do while on the road/air/tracks

      @ I’m a travel nurse so I’ve just been making sure I get my 10k steps in minimally to start. There is a mini gym in my hotel with free weights (50lbs max) medicine balls, treadmill and jump rope. There is also a pool I figure I could do mini laps too

      @NyvekStJames Nice man. Perfect opportunity to make little changes that compound into big ones. Instead of taking the elevator, take the stairs for non critical cases. Cut out or down on coffee creamer, etc.

    Ok that was exactly what I was looking for and I can find other options for the grain. Did you measure out the chicken and vegetables?

    • @DanWeecks
      @DanWeecks  2 года назад +2

      No, but a digital food scale is small enough that if you wanted to you can take it with you. You could also get a silicon collapsible cup to go with you and pre-measure the volume, but that won't be as accurate.

    Good ideas, just trying to think how you could get more variety. Maybe you could get fully cooked shrimp from the deli or frozen for the protein and pair with bagged salad. If the common area of the hotel had a toaster, you could toast a pita until crisp add cheese and sauce finish it off in the micro for a pizza. Avocado toast is another easy to assemble. Don’t forget overnight steel cut oats with fruit in the fridge.

      Canned pre-cooked chicken from the store, then you can eat it cold or microwave it first.

    Depending on hotel room microwave availability, i think I'd bring some electric heating devices, like maybe a small skillet with lid and a small hot water kettle, and if you don't have a refrigerator you could always use a cooler as your luggage and get ice from the ice machine to make it refrigerator temp. Also that hike looks not very pedestrian friendly. Have you considered getting Instacart delivery when you get into a town? Looks like Wichita has several stores that deliver to this location, and this way you wouldn't have to make this arduous trek. I know you probably pride yourself for walking to the store, and I'm proud of you for doing so, but many American places, especially hotels near airports, make it hell to get any food or walk anywhere. It really is a failure to urban planning and to society. Finally, depending on price difference, you can cook chicken in a microwave with taste and texture rivaling canned chicken. I say this because fresh chicken is probably cheaper than canned per unit weight. Canned chicken is great for food storage, but for immediate consumption, fresh is probably best.
