the first days of a bees life she never leaves the hive. only after 18-21 days she may go to the hives exit and guard the entrance to the hive. After 22 days she leaves the hive to forage for nectar, resin (propolis) and water. a worker bee can become up to 35 days old.
The shimmering is neat. Idk how hornets read it but as a human I see that as the bees saying “we know you’re here and look at how we can operate as a team of hundreds instantly”
Its unlikely that we have anymore Japanese hornets on our continent African honey bee are aggressive by nature so it may not end up as bad as you think.
I like how the tactics used by the bees are paralleled by the ones used by the hornets. They share the basic principle that the older, more experienced individuals take more risks.
I believe it jamie if I remember correctly, about five to eight years ago, they found a first sighting of Asian "murder hornets" recently in Washington State. I don’t know if this was a recent sighting or first ever in the nation, but they found a whole beehive where every bee was decapitated. I hear they kill people yearly in Japan, but it's not a huge amount.
Gotta love a Honey Bee, not only does it give us the sweet nectar of the Gods, called Honey, but it gets rid of the most vile stinging bug from Hell!!! The wasp!!!
Hello - what is the white netting you put outside the hive boxes? Does it work in fending off O-Suzume batchi? We have had problems with groups of O-Suzume batchi attacking our hive (Kanagawa). If this net works, could you let me know the size and also how you close it at the top. I would use it next year. Thank you for all you do in support of the bees!
While the Georgia DFW did locate and eradicate a nest of Yellow Hornets, the danger still remains. When the Giant Hornet arrived in Washington, there were a total of three nests.
@joshuariddensdale2126 And? We found a total of 5 nests in Cascadia itself from 2019-2021 and there hasnt been a single invasive hornet found in hornet traps for a couple years, or any sightings. They are most likely eradicated. But this vid isnt about us. Or the US for that matter. Its about how Japanese honeybees (apis cerana japonica) have evolved a very unique defense mechanism against their native predators, that Western honeybees (apis mellifera) dont have. People have tried to import Western honeybees to Japan. It fails every time. They have no idea how to fight these hornets off, and go on the attack, stinging and fighting. Which is kind of like a handful of humans with knives trying to stop a tank. Nevermind 5 tanks.
Its interesting seeing the smaller yellow hornet and their strategy compared to the larger Giant Hornet. The Yellows have a very hit and run and hit again while the Giants are much more bold once the first scout gets back with news
Hola, independientemente del vídeo, quería preguntarte, la abeja japonesa es distinta a la europea? En que? Que características tiene? Gracias como siempre. Mis saludos desde Argentina
Japanese honey bees are a subspecies of the Asian honey bee (Apis cerana) and are native to Japan. They are more resistant to cold than European honey bees and are able to harvest pollen in temperatures lower than 50 degrees Fahrenheit. Although they produce less honey than European honey bees, they are more efficient. -google
Just remember folks, just because WE like bees and don't like hornets, doesn't mean anything. It's nature. It's not up to us to decide which animal species deserve to exist more or not. Bees are dwindling because of us, not the hornets.
It seens to me that evil people really love to se how these poor hornets are suffering, just for being created, they just follow instincts sick people......
Sura 16: AN-NAHL (THE BEE) - Juz' 14 - Your Lord revealed to the bee: 'Build your homes in the mountains, in the trees, and in what they are building. (68) Eat every kind of fruit, and follow the easy ways of your Lord. ' From its belly comes forth a drink (honey) of many hues in which there is healing for people. Surely, in this there is a sign for a nation who reflect. (69) Allah created you, and causes you to die. There are some of you who, after knowing something, will be kept back to the vilest state of life, knowing nothing. Allah is the Knowing, Powerful. (70) In your provisions Allah has preferred some of you above others. But, those who have been preferred do not give their provisions to those whom their right hand possess so that they might be equal therein. What, do they vainly disbelieve the favor of Allah? (71)
Even Bees have their own veterans of war with Hornets, no youngsters allowed to conscript 🤣🤣

"We are Legion"
It really is! I've never seen shimmering before, and it's truly fascinating to witness.
I've known about the bee balling for some time, but never heard of shimmering before. Thanks for that fascinating bit of information.
that is one hole war movie in one video. presence of bravery, emotion, skill all in one
Nature is absolutely incredible for the bees to devise such a perfect defence mechanism. Unreal
Took them a long time to figure it out
You make it sound like they sat down and formed a think-tank to devise a strategy. Its simple adaptation. Just like any other defense mechanism.
@@krane15 I absolutely did. Right down to the last degree of temperature
Only Japanese honey bees do this. European honey bee doesn’t.
@@krane15it’s actually quite intriguing, considering European honey bees do not use this same defense.
that's what i call a baller move.
46°C = 114°F
BALLER MOVE 😂
They do be ballin.
The Japanese honey bees: "I'm not going to sugarcoat it!"
[BEE-BALL 114°F / 46°C]
(Edit: I forgot to add Celsius so I quickly changed it)
The bees excited after an hour and keeping the ball going, just got their first kill
You are evil.....
1:15 🫡 RIP little dude
💯🫡
This is extremely fascinating and the Camera work is outstanding, and thank you for this.
Bee keepers here in the usa are going to have to cross breed our queens with Japanese bees as we now have your hornets here in the usa now
Yeah last time we did bee cross breeding ended horribly. Africanized honey bees a.k.a. killer bees.
Its unlikely that we have anymore Japanese hornets on our continent African honey bee are aggressive by nature so it may not end up as bad as you think.

Bee: I DIE FOR THE EMPIRE!! BANZAI!!!
Bro went to wrong hood and is now getting that smoke 😂
Awesome, never knew this but I definitely found myself cheering on the honey bees!
"These hornets be mad 'cause we ballin' "
I heard 30 giant hornets can destroy a whole bee hive of thousands.
It's true
You hearded?
I saw it in a video on RUclips
Only japanese bees know how to defend themself against them
I believe it jamie if I remember correctly, about five to eight years ago, they found a first sighting of Asian "murder hornets" recently in Washington State. I love how they're buzzing their wings saying "BEAT IT!"
I wished we had those hornet cookers here in the USA.
The disney villian getting Killed by their minions be like:
Japanese Honeybees to Hornet: "Please, join us in the Honeybee Ball Lair, you won't be disappointed".

This kind of netting doesn’t work for giant hornets unfortunately 😢
This net is to make it easier for Japanese honey bees to create bee balls.!
This bee ball is said to be (熱殺蜂球)
Those honey bees are proper ballers. 😎
While the Georgia DFW did locate and eradicate a nest of Yellow Hornets, the danger still remains. When the Giant Hornet arrived in Washington, there were a total of three nests.
Okay? And? This video isn't about the US.

This is incredible. I've only read about this but never actually saw it.
Excellent videos, thanks for them!
Great and informative video showing the japanese bees impressive defense mechanism

Intruder to intruded upon in a matter of seconds.
Evolution is an amazing thing.
114 degrees Fahrenheit ! Wow !
Great video, thank you.
Revenge can be so beautiful 🤩
What does the shimmering do???
It makes them look like one large animal rather than just a bunch of small ones grouped together.
Did you watch the video?
Basically over heats the wasp and the wasp die
These beeze are such ballers
This has got to be one of the coolest things ive seen nature pull off. And who would have thought its would be from honey bees 🐝🐝🐝
Its interesting seeing the smaller yellow hornet and their strategy compared to the larger Giant Hornet. The Yellows have a very hit and run and hit again while the Giants are much more bold once the first scout gets back with news
Which month is the best month for harvesting honey?
Before winter. Too late now

What is the point of the white metal screen around the hive if it doesn't physically keep hornets out?
bruh. NEVER STOP BALLIN. SHINE KINGS 😂
Look Mom, I'm ballin' 🔥
I put the new forgis on the jeep
Why are the screen holes so large??
Let’s hear it for whoever’s working the camera 🫡
Just remember folks, just because WE like bees and don't like hornets, doesn't mean anything. It's nature. It's not up to us to decide which animal species deserve to exist more or not. Bees are dwindling because of us, not the hornets.
Bee gang unite!!!!😊
Typically, hornets target weaker beehives
Very interesting!
such awesome videos!
Japanese bees seem to echo the traditional way of japanese culture of collectivism
Bees be balling
Honeybees are amazing.
Good job bees😄🙂
At 0:23 one bee at the bottom is trying to pull the antenna off of the hornet/wasp
Intéressant, je ne sais pas si nos abeilles de Provence peuvent élaborer une boule d'abeilles défensives.
Today I'm gonna go bed early.
Awesome video!!! 😎
Я люблю кошек и пчелы ❤
Good channel
These bees got the roasted alive by a bee ball
Wonder if some playing god with bees will allow them to be even more adept at bee balling without any drawbacks.
I can see that in near future...
I stand with the bees
Where is this?😮😳
Never thought I would be so happy to live in 🥶Northern 🥶Canada 🇨🇦 🥶
wasp: those bees will never be balling
bees:
Beely intresting well done
That's incredible ❤
JUSTICE
سبحان الله الخالق البديع في صنعه
stupid hornets! we're fucking balling!
😅😅😅😅well information good show 😅😅
I REALLY do not like those hornets!
Bravo les abeilles tuer le frelon il sert à rien 👍👍👍
The hornet scout dies and the pheromone with her.
У японских пчёл нет цели , у них есть путь.
AMAZING 😀❣
Very cool and interesting. Arigato
Yeah, go bees
Marvelllous system !
Thank by vídeo, but for me Hornet is orange
I want to see oh of the hornets vs a bee please I like that
first🥲
It seens to me that evil people really love to se how these poor hornets are suffering, just for being created, they just follow instincts sick people......
I know. Poor hornet, doesnt understand she was just sacrificed.
Even the Japanese bees do kamikaze
👍👍
Всём насекомым арест в калайдере, а потом сжечь, тех кто пристроился на людей и животных, спускать свой мед- гавно, и любителей медку тоже))
Bees are jjk fans
Cool tactic, but im still mad you sacrificed a rare, endangered species of bee for a video
Those things are monsters- bees do not need to be bigger than a thumb nail...
I like it
Amazing. Kamikaze with deadly purpose.
🏀
😢🎉😊😊😅
Poor wasp
looks like someone found their slow motion button and now overuses it.
