This was one of the first videos I watched. You definitely forgot to tell people to take the gasket from the first lid and put it on the SoClean lid to have a proper seal
Those of you questioning the need for this machine, don't take into account the fact that the CPAP is not just about the hose and the Mask. The the machine itself needs sanitizing. Bacteria and mold and dust buildup inside the CPAP. That's the biggest benefit of this machine
Reliable Respiratory Yup, otherwise this is a great video, but not mentioning the gasket transfer caused errors. Was about to call SoClean customer service when I saw what had been left out. It's an important piece of info, otherwise the Airsense will not work at all.
I'm glad your error was pointed out Matt, but perhaps you should redo the video and may I make a suggestion? Please use a larger table to make your demonstration on.
For those confused like hell what is a gasket like I was after reading this comment, found another youtuber who made a proper video. Start at roughly 6 minutes 30 seconds in for the gasket ruclips.net/video/bbB5xjlbLk8/видео.html
@@Cryptologist101 I would concur, leaving that out is significant enough that those without the mechanical aptitude or taking the time to follow the instructions could encounter major errors and WOULD redo the video as this is SO SIGNIFICANT it's earned a Thumbs-Down from me.
The manual of the SoClean had a little mention of what if you don't put water in the dehumidifier chamber-Do not use that feature each night. It said to take out the little hose from the chamber and then use the larger connector that goes on before the hose, etc....but it didn't mention if you should then go back to the original dehumidifier chamber lid. I'm assuming that you do as to not have the air leak from where the little hose was to attach to the new humidifier chamber top. This should of had more detail in the manual. I'm now thinking that even if you don't use the humidifier feature of the C-Pap you should just keep everything set up as if you were going to use that chamber? Does anyone know what I'm taking about?
This was a good video you hit key points that users need to know to get the best use of their device. The commercial is for this device is very misleading and really lies about the use of the device.
The ResMed warranty is void if you use the SoClean. I avoid that by hooking the ozone tube directly with an adapter into the big air tube that goes from the CPAP machine to the mask. I then place the mask into the SoClean, close the lid and start the sequence. The CPAP machine is off of course. The ozone doesn’t go through the CPAP machine but only into the tubing and mask. I don’t use the humidifier.
After the initial SoClean 2 setup, does the modified water chamber lid with the black hose stay on the CPAP or does that have to be changed with every use?
Hi Zob, You can leave the new lid on the cpap machine as long as it is connected to the soclean device via the black tubing. If you are traveling (without your soclean), replace the soclean adapter lid with your original water chambers lid so there is no leakage
U need to actually wash it once a week because u get things on it like oil or make up for example that the sanitizer will not clean. It's for keeping germs down in your mask daily and between washes. Hope this helps 😀
Gave you a thumbs up BUT: The GASKET HAS TO BE INSTALLED ON THE COVER FOR THE RESERVOIR AND YOU CAN RUN THE SO CLEAN WITH "DISTILLED WATER" IN THE RESERVOIR. I am editing my comment because I called So Clean and asked about what you were doing. As far as the Resmed Airsense 10, you can run it WITH DISTILLED WATER in the reservoir AND IT MUST HAVE THE GASKET INSTALLED IN THE SOCLEAN ADAPTER FOR THE RESERVOIR!
What if you do Not use a water reservoir for the Airsense 10 autosense? I use a unit that has the side panel, meant for traveling and to reduce water. Don't need to use humidifier during the spring/summer.
do you now leave the new lid with the short hose on the humidifier chamber when you use your CPAP machine, or do you have to change back to the original lid? Thank you! The So Clean people really need to work a,bit more on the instruction manual!
+Lisa Mieth you can leave the new lid on the cpap machine as long as it is connected to the soclean device via the black tubing. if you are traveling (without your soclean), replace the soclean adapter lid with your original water chambers lid so there is no leakage
I believe that if you clean the mask and hose with soap and water before using this machine the first time, then using this machine from then on you don't have to keep using the soap and water after that. Anyway I believe this unit kills way more germs than soap and water will. Unless they want you to keep using the soap and water before using the machine each night to get dirt and grim off the equipment?
Does anyone read ResMed's Q & A on their web site or the warranty that came with the AirSense10? Ozone is corrosive and repeated use is harmful to internal electronic and plastic components (like fans) which can cause vibration or wobble, and cause the machine to become noisier when that occurs. Cleaning internally with ozone voids their warranty, so if there is a failure, they'll know why. I only clean my hose mask and water chamber in a bag flooded with ozone and leave the rest to ResMed's filtering system. They've really left us with no other way to clean a c-pap internally. And the FDA has approved no cleaning method but soap and water to date. Any idea when an "ozone-proof" machine will market? It's past time they make them impervious to the cleaning effects of a gas that can reach places a liquid cleaning method can't go.
The So Clean 2 comes preset at 7 (seven) minutes, and can be adjusted up to ten minutes (maybe more, read instructions). The total time for cleaning or disinfecting your Resmed airsense 10 equipment can be a few hours. I have mine set for 12 noon and leave the equipment in the So Clean 2 until I go to bed. No fuss no muss.
Yes, there is an adapter kit for the ResMed Airsense 10 (which is what I have, and just set up). It replaces the lid of the water chamber, and you take off the hose cpap hose adapter that came with the SoClean2.
For those confused like hell what is a gasket like I was after reading this comment, found another youtuber who made a proper video. Start at roughly 6 minutes 30 seconds in for the gasket ruclips.net/video/bbB5xjlbLk8/видео.html
Just as long as its not to full or the eater tends to bubble up or to low as the tube is to be submerged in the water if it's in there. The so clean company told me this.
Ozone (oxygen with a single electron) is toxic; that's why it kills bacteria and mold. Ozone is an unstable molecule, and within two hours it converts back into O2, the same oxygen that we breathe. My understanding is that the CPAP is disinfected in 12 minutes... but leaving the mask in the SoCLean unit for 2 hours allows the ozone remaining in the CPAP as well as in the SoClean to revert to the harmless form of oxygen.
YES! As Peter stated, the machine needs to convert the toxic Ozone into Oxygen and that takes two hours. DO NOT open the machine during that time, otherwise you will have Ozone contamination in your room. Remember how the guy said you will smell a “cleaning” smell that is Ozone. You don’t want Ozone flying freely, so the machine will convert Ozone back to normal Oxygen.
IT's a prewash solution before you use the SoClean for the first time. Mix a couple capfuls of prewash solution w a gallon of water, and soak the CPAP tube, mask and humidification water chamber for a bit, then give a good rinse, and put everything back together for first sanitize cycle. Be sure to remove the stretchy headgear from the mask first! You don't want to soak that...
I just bought mine. The timer is set for 7 mins. It worked fine the 1st time. But now the status light is staying orange with the message "processing and disinfecting...dont open " for hours. Is that normal or is there something wrong with my unit? Thanks
Hi Ahmad- There are 3 different cycles to your So Clean. The indicator light will first turn red for the 7 minutes run time where your unit is generating the activated oxygen. It will then turn yellow, which sounds like the question you have for this cycle. When the indicator light turns yellow, the So Clean is in it's 2 hour disinfecting cycle. Then it will turn green when the disinfecting has been completed. The message you have received on your unit is perfectly normal.
Yes is normal, The running time when it starts is changeable, but I leave mine at seven minutes. The light will be RED and the unit humming, then after the time stops the light changes to Amber or Yellow for about two hours, then GREEN when completed. The Tech Support at So Clean have been very good with any questions I had.
This doesn't begin to address the greatest drawback with using a CPAP. The wholly inadequate and almost criminally deficient FILTRATION on every machine made. You're breathing the same air with the same germs and mold with or without a CPAP. At least the CPAP provides a little filtration (with replaceable filters), which is better than what you would be breathing without it in a contaminated environment. So this is kind of a non-issue.
You would think for what my wife paid for this thing, they could've included the adapter with it. Seems like the air sense 10 is a pretty popular clap, seems pretty cheap...sorry, so clean, your product is not so useful at this point. I guess it's another palmolive night. Not a big deal cleaning it, but my wife is a little upset that you couldn't include a small plastic reservoir top, with the money for this unit. Pretty low-rent, imho.
Dude, SoClean comes with NO adapters for any CPAPs at all. I have a ResMed 9 and I had to order, not only an adapt lid, but also the Silicone seal for it as well so I would not have to keep moving the one from the original lid to the adapter. So what you are saying is a bit misleading. You need to corrent that. Again, CoClean 2 comes with NO adapters at all. Fyi
I'm aware of that. You still have to buy an adapter for that model as well. My comments were made some 7 months ago, so I had to refer back to all that to see what you were talking about. ~shrug~ VA wants to get me the 10 version soon. I'm in no rush. Mine works just fine.
Don't know if something changed over the year, but just ordered mine last week and on the ordering process, it asks which adapter would you like for free. Confirmed the Resmed Airsense 10 adapter came in the kit for me.
My Air Sense 10 started to whine. I was told by my clinician that Resmed voids the warranty because the ozone destroys internal parts. I had to send mine in to Resmed for repair (300 $) later. Do Not Use SoClean!
So after you clean it , what do you do with the little rubber hose attached to the water tank? Do you leave it attached all the time even while you sleep? Because if you disconnect the hose at night wont the water be forced out the little hose?

it's just for prewash before first use of the SoClean.
sandi yes best cleaner check it out is sanibot d 3 sanitizer its like a ultrasonic cleaner for cpap n u get tablets u put in the water you tube it
