Got mine last week. Was skeptical until waking up the next morning after first use. The difference in how I felt was remarkable! This device has literally improved the quality of my sleep. Next to the CPAP device, this was the most important purchase I’ve made in a very long time.
This video is exactly what I needed. One of my close friends mother passed away and her mom had a SoClean 2 and my friend gave it to me. IAt the time she gave it to me she couldn't find the instructions manual. This video explains everything. Thanks again!!!
Just received my adapter for my CPAP. Am now set, for life, with a clean and sanitized unit. Free from possibly bacterial infections. Thank you SOCLEAN! I wish someone had thought of this years ago.
This machine works great have had it for 2-3 months. The only thing I don't like or have questions about is when I first run my C Pap after cleaning it the air smells very strong like a sanatized smell, I have to run the C Pap for maybe 30 minutes before I can use my mask. Comments most welcome!! Regards
After watching this video I'm now considering purchasing one. I'm a new cpap user n the cleaning part has always been a struggle for me due to my mobility issues n just not really being told or understanding how to clean it. Thank you for the information it was helpful.
Since most of us (me included) will never remember when to change the consumable items, what I do is the same trick used for fridge filters. Get a sharpie and write the month/year of replacement based on the recommended duration. That way you know later when it is due.
I stopped using my Cpap because I got tired of washing it all the time, now that I got the so clean i’m back to using my CPAP again ,so clean probably saved my life
pre sanitizing wash questions: 1.) before first using the SoClean do you wash ALL c pap connection parts (ie: hose, elbow, nose cushion, and harness)? 2.) do you need everything to completely air dry before using it?
Hello, the neutralizing pre-wash is intended to use prior to the first use of your SoClean or when introducing new equipment to your CPAP cleaning system to wash your CPAP mask, hose and reservoir. The pre-wash is a fragrance-free hypoallergenic cleaning solution. The pre- wash neutralizes any pre-existing odors from detergents, and removes any residue from the manufacturing process. Regarding your other question, It is better to run the SoClean when your CPAP mask is completely dry. Take care.
I've been a user for about 1.5 months. The short tube that is supposed to go into your water reservoir can cause much frustration, depending on what CPAP manufacturer/model you use. On my Devilbiss CPAP, the path that the short tube must be threaded through is extremely awkward and you must re-thread it every time you remove the reservoir to fill it---which of course is every day or two. No. Effin'. Way. I don't blame the SoClean----it is a "one-size-fits-all" machine that has to work with probably countless different CPAP models out there, all different. But believe me, you're going to hate dealing with that short tube if you have certain kinds of CPAPs. The solution is to not use the short tube and just make sure the tank is empty every day before using the SoClean. I have begun putting much less water in my reservoir at night and by the time I wake, the tank is almost dry. I dump the little remaining, put the tank back in, and let the SoClean do its thing at the scheduled time.
Wait? In order to avoid using the black hose that is suppose to run to the tank you don't even have to use it? Your water tank must be empty though? I am trying to understand the science of this.
@@sandywjo5 Yes, as stated I do not use the thin black tube that goes into the water reservoir and I make sure the reservoir is dry when I turn the So Clean on. Been doing it that way for years now and the whole CPAP gets cleaned, including the reservoir, because there is no water is in it. Admittedly, I use the reservoir only in the winter when the air is particularly dry. And again, the thin tube into the CPAP tank might work well with some machines, but not the make and model I have.
This video was informative. The written instructions that come with the unit are dreadfully inadequate. In fact, they should either accompany better written instructions or simply tell you to check this video. It would save a lot of time and not turn people off.
Thanks for the video it is useful. Here are my comments on this machine: I like the idea of the ozone cleaning.. However, the machine is made cheaply and the hose going into the hose slot does not always fit properly, thus negating the auto function of the timer. Further if you want to disinfect a tube on its own (or anything else on its own) you cannot unless you have an extra removable hose plug. I recommend to buy one although in my opinion 2 should come with the machine. These little things are annoying when you pay top dollar for a piece of equipment. Otherwise it works perfect with my REMstar. I have another travel CPAP, a Transcend, and will try it soon and will give my feedback. You also do not need to buy a big bottle of Neutralizing pre wash. A small bottle comes with the kit.
The owner's manual lacks clarity. I've looked in vain for any semblance of a organized and concise video to get my So Clean hooked up. I appreciate your video showing the set up and logic of it all. Thanks. Zzzzzz!
You and me both. I was completely befuddled by the manual, and I'm an IT guy used to reading all kinds of tech manuals. This video had me up in running in 5 minutes flat. Thanks!
I am so tired of spending money on gadgets that makes promises and never fulfill them. I purchased this machine as a last result during this pandemic and hope I don't experience another respiratory infection ever again from using my very expensive AirSense CPAP machine! I have so many questions but too exhausted to ask. Infomercials are so influential yet deceptive. They make it seem like it was easy as one two three. I was wondering if I had to wait until my mask, headgear, and tubing was fully dry before disinfecting them? Also, how long after disinfecting the items may I use my machine? Someone please help me
Why didn't you include an emergency shut down procedure!? I've used this thing a few times but I got a new water tub today and it hooked up improperly and the machine was running while leaking out the dangerous gas (I forgot what it's called) it doesn't tell you what to do, because even if you stop it during the 10 min sanitation, how are you supposed to get the machine cleared out of that gas without opening it (which I obviously didn't do)
Hello, per the SoClean 2 manual: "If a strong ozone odor is detected when the SoClean is operating turn the SoClean 2 off by disconnecting the AC power adapter and, inspect the SoClean 2 for visible damage, such as cracks in the enclosure or tubing along with tubing connections.” The manual goes on to state: “Ozone quickly dissipates in the atmosphere. If you accidentally interrupt the disinfecting cycle and release ozone by opening the Disinfecting Chamber before the end of the disinfecting cycle, simply step away from the SoClean 2 to avoid unintended exposure". If you have further questions regarding an "Emergency Shutdown Procedure" please reach out directly to the manufacturer; SoClean. Take care.
Hello, I am very new to all this CPAP stuff.... I just got a ResMed 10, adapter and SoClean... saw the video, got it all together, looks good.... Now, how much water I should put in the SoClean? And, is the small black hose from the SoClean to the ResMed10 reservoir supposed to fill the ResMed10 reservoir? I need to know HOW the water works in this.
Ron, The SoClean doesn't use water so you shouldn't put any in it! There can be water in your ResMed 10 Reservoir though, just the way there is when you usually use it. Take care!
Great Video and love the SoClean 2. I still wash the equipment with the bottle of prewash every few weeks. Does everything need to be completely dry before placing in the chamber and running through its cycle?
I just unpackaged and am preparing to set up my SoClean machine for the first time. There is no mention in your instructions or in the manual about how to prepare the filter cartridge. There is a clear film over it, a blue tape and a black rubber band type ring or gasket. I’m sure the first two items can be thrown out but what of the black gasket looking item?
Hello, Yes you can use water in your water chamber however you must make sure the black SoClean hose penetrates the surface of the water. If there is not enough water in the chamber, the SoClean will not sanitize it. Take care.
I have a heated hose for my unit, along with a heated water reservoir. The heat can either be turned on or off if that matters. I went to your website and could not find an adapter for it. Could you please provide me a link for it?
CPAP cleaners completely sanitize all your CPAP accessories including mask, headgear, tubing and the water chamber. The best CPAP cleaners use activated oxygen and ultraviolet light instead of water to destroy 99.9% of bacteria, viruses and mold.
@@1voiceofstl hello Parker, I ended up buying the so clean. I use it without the humidifier, but if you have any questions it might be best to ask so clean directly.
Hello, You should not have to disconnect anything - that is the wonderful thing about the SoClean. Once you have it set up, you can leave it attached until you have to replace your CPAP hose. In some cases when used with a heated hose adapter, you may have to disconnect the water chamber to fill with water.
Looking to get one of these but of course have concerns with OZONE being used. How safe is it really? How dangerous is it. I understand about leaving it in the machine for 2 hours after cleaning but does that render it completely safe? Also I am seeing you should have 1 SoClean machine for each CPAP machine. I use a CPAP as does my girl friend. So that means we need to get too? Thanks for the help.
You wouldn't have to get two but you'd have to switch the SoClean back and forth from yours to hers everyday and you'd also have to replace the filter every 3 months instead of every 6 months. Don't forget about the two hours at the end of each cleaning that the mask has to stay in the SoClean after it sanitizes it to allow the ozone to turn back into Oxygen. So if you have 2 cpap's one SoClean machine it will take you about 4 hours and 15 minutes to 4 hours and 20 minutes to clean them both. 2 hours and 15 to 20 minutss each.
Automatic timer is mandatory. You have to set up a start time for your SoClean's automated schedule; but the SoClean machine will not start automatically unless your mask and tubing are in the machine with the lid closed and latched. You can close the lid and press the "Manual" button on the machine at any time to start a manual mode cleaning.
Hello, It really is a personal decision; however, you can be assured that each time you run the SoClean, you are sanitizing the water in the humidifier. Take care.
Hello Meerletalis, I believe you do have to set up a start time for your SoClean's automated schedule; but it will not start automatically unless your mask and tubing are in the machine with the lid closed and latched. You can close the lid and press the "Manual" button on the machine at any time to start a manual cleaning so even if your automatic schedule never runs you should still be able to clean every day using the "Manual" option. Take care!
my machine has the humidifier but I don't use the humidifier, do I still hook it up through the humidifier or the other option? I don't know what you call that other option but you can hook the soclean in one of 2 places. as said since I don't use the humidifier should I still hook it to the humidifier? does it matter?
Don't know if your question has been answered yet. You can hook up directly to your blower (don't need humidifier to hook up) by removing the short piece of SoClean tube (just pull it out of the adapter fitting) that goes into the water chamber. Then hook up your CPAP tube to the adapter fitting.
Should the water in the humidifier tank bubble while the SoClean is running through the 5-10 minute sanitizing cycle? I just replaced my filter and check valve with the correct replacements but now the water in the humidifier reservoir doesn't bubble at all. It makes me believe something is not working right.
Hello Bobby, It sounds like the black injection tube may not be breaking the surface of the water in your humidifier chamber. The tube should go into the water. I'm not sure which adapter you're using; but you can see the black injection tubes in most of the adapter pictures on the following page of our site. Take care! www.directhomemedical.com/manufacturers-betterrestsolutions-soclean-products.html#/?_=1&sort.price=desc&page=1
DirectHomeMedical thanks. It’s actually in the water in the clear humidifier reservoir and I can see it. I don’t think the ionized Air is making it up the black injection tube as it should. Thanks for replying.
One more question. When you put the black tubing into the water reservoir it stays there all the time whether you are using the machine or cleaning it?
Hello Jerry, That is correct. The black tube -- and the entire SoClean 2 adapter and system -- are designed to remain attached to the CPAP at all times.Take care!
When I take my CPAP to the doctor's office or on an overnight trip, I would like to detach the SOClean from the CPAP so it is easier to carry. I do not use the humidifier. The last time I had to lug the SOClean and the CPAP with me on an overnight trip since I did not know how to disconnect one from the other. It would not all fit into the carrying case that came with my CPAP so I had to hunt for something big enough to hold both my CPAP and the SOClean. Then I had to lug it all with me. On my next trip I would like to just take the CPAP and leave the SoClean and clean the CPAP when I get home. I like the CPAP and the SOClean.
I don't understand how to set this up with the New Dreamstation 2. I have a regular 15mm hose that already fits onto a old adapter I bought with my original dreamstation, but I don't know how to route the black hose that goes Inside the CPAP or where it goes!
Hello, in order to use the SoClean 2 with the DreamStation 2, you'll need to purchase the correct adapter. You can find that here: www.directhomemedical.com/pna1410-ds2-sc2-dreamstaion-2-soclean-adapter.html
Hello, activated oxygen, also called ozone or O3 occurs in nature. It is produced and used commercially in applications for sanitizing produce, waste and drinking water. The SoClean is designed to keep the activated oxygen enclosed in your CPAP equipment and the secure chamber. And, when the sanitizing process is complete, the ozone turns back into regular oxygen. Take care.

What about water maintenance? I currently clean my CPAP and equipment weekly by hand... but each day I take out my humidifier reservoir and empty the water, and replace it with fresh water at night. With the SoClean, if you leave water in the chamber, can you reuse that remaining water after cleaning, or do you recommend emptying it out and using fresh?
Hello, If you have water in your reservoir, the tube needs to be submerged. In order to get the activated oxygen to clean the water. However, you can also run the SoClean without water in the reservoir. Take care.
My soclean machine has notified me of my six month filter replacement as I have replacement filters set aside for this day, do I need to reset anything because it's still reminding me to replace the filters even though I put the new filters in
Hello Victor, You will need to reset the SoClean 2 once you have replaced the filter. If you press the "Hour Glass" and "Manual" button at the same time and hold for a few moments. The machine will then display a Happy Face and be ready for use. Take care!

Hi: Is it OK to detach the hose from the mask while in the cleaning chamber during it's operation? It would give more flexibility when loading the chamber. Thanks.
I get a message on the machine screen that says the mask and tube are no in the SoClean and that the machine will not operate. Well, the mask and tube are in the machine. the lid securely closed, and still I get the message. I waited for a long period of time and tried the machine everyday before I contacted you. What gives?
Florante, it sounds like the side slot plug may be missing from your SoClean. When you put the tubing in the depression on one side of the SoClean device the other side must be sealed with the side slot plug. If that is not sealed then the SoClean cannot work properly. I've linked the side slot plug below to see if that helps. If not please do give us a call at 888-505-0212 or stop by our site for a chat. 7:12 What happens if after the SoClean is done with the Red Cycle and in the Yellow Cycle but the power goes out? Will the SoClean Indicate the Green light if the power comes back on before the two hours is up when it has sat for the two hour time? One of the other questions I have is that, Can you clean your "Vogmask" in this device? I have a Very "Low Immune System" and because of this and how hard it is to properly clean my Vogmask and how hard it is to Replace the Vogmask it would be nice if there was a way to clean it in this device? It would be nice if you had a special adapter that would connect to the black hose on the back of the device and then the other end would fit in the same area that your mask and hose would fit in? With this Pandemic and how dangerous it is and people like myself that are more at risk of catching this it is so Vital that if this can clean my mask and CPAO it would be nice if it could clean my Vogmask and other vital medical equipment? In addition it would be nice if there was some "IMPROVEMENTS" that could be made to this SoClean Device? One of those would be that there would be a "APP" on the app store that you could put on your Android or Apple device that you could track and save information and operate your device. This would allow you to know if and when the power was to go out and how long it has been out for? It would be nice if there was a "Ultraviolet Light" that somehow could be placed in the SoClean Device that would not harm people but "GERMS & VIRUSES"? This could be done by creating it so it could be placed in one of the sides where the hose would go in the device where the plugs are located or where it would go through the hosing system? Being able to track and monitor your cleaning and getting all of your alerts etc on your phone and knowing when and how to clean your SoClean Device and keeping track of how you are doing this would help? I would love to have the ability to be able to clean my Vogmask and keep it as sterile as possible. This SoClean Device was over 400.00 dollars and it would be nice to make it work for more than one thing?
I'd be more concerned about the red cycle being interrupted and your machine not getting fully clean. If you're not running the machine right before bed, you'll never have to worry about the yellow cycle not being complete because it will have been a lot more than 2 hours by then. The machine isn't actually doing anything during those two hours. That's just the time it takes for the remaining ozone gas inside to dissipate. If you smell a strong pungent odor with the mask on, there's still ozone in it and it's very poisonous.
It took me a while to realize it actually doe not fit my CPAP. Call the representives? Why didn't you let me choose my CPAP model so that you can send me the right accessories in the beginning? I finally had time to install it in the weekend and I needed to wait until Monday when I had to work. Very disappointed.

@@DirectHomeMedical I think he is asking if you have water in the reservoir when cleaning or do you need to empty the reservoir every time you clean it.
Hello @UCIvbsVCNE2Zl5pTDI51v6pg and Viji, there is no need to empty your humidifier water chamber before using the SoClean. In fact SoClean is designed to work when water is present in the chamber. Take care!
Hello, The SoClean uses Activated Oxygen - A powerful sanitizing agent. Activated Oxygen is created when a third atom of oxygen combines with the two-atom oxygen molecule that makes up the air we breathe. This new molecule has the ability to destroy organic matter such as mold, viruses, and bacteria. This active ingredient pumps through your CPAP equipment, sanitizing along the way. A special filter then converts the activated oxygen back into the air we breathe. Take care.

The SoClean 2 is designed specifically for use with the silicone, foams and rubber used in CPAP masks and machines. If used properly SoClean will not damage your equipment.
Truth be. OZONE (activated oxygen) is corrosive, however it is also extremely effecting at disinfecting. Just make sure to follow the instruction properly so that you are not exposed to OZONE Gas from the unit. You should never smell the Ozone from your SoClean unit as when it is functioning properly , the ozone gas goes through a closed looped system within the machine. This is why it is so important that it tells you NOT to open the lid until at least 2 hours after the cleaning cycle has completed. It needs this time for any residual Ozone gas trapped in the unit to convert back into regular oxygen.
Voice in the wind...yes, the darn things are loud and obnoxious! I have to close the bedroom door so I don't hear it running through the whole first floor of the house! That said, I still like what it does for me!
I just got my SoClean and did the prewash. Now everything is wet, the hoses and tubing and mask are wet. Does that matter? Can I now allow the soclean to run? Someone told me the tubing and water reservoir and attachments can not be wet? Is that correct?
Hello, We generally recommend that you let your mask and tubing air dry before placing them in the SoClean unit; but there's no need to empty your reservoir. Take care!
+Juan Acosta You'd need to review the documentation that came with your machine, but most CPAP manufacturer's recommend changing the water in humidifier chambers every day.
Hello, please ensure that the hose is seated securely in the hose slot. Check that the Removable Hose Slot Plug is seated correctly on the other side. If you need further assistance, feel free to call our Care Team!
i have one of these and when i first got it after cycle my mask had a sanitized scent too it but now it dosent anymore after a cycle am i doing something wrongor is this normal
+billy Sawyer There is generally a slight scent to the SoClean immediately after it has gone through a cleaning process. That scent fades quickly though. It may be that you're just leaving the unit longer after cleaning than you did originally.
Bill..........it is important that you do NOT open the unit until at least 2 Hours after the cleaning cycle. The smell you notice is OZONE, which is a dangerous gas if inhaled. The unit needs 2 hours minimum for the residual ozone gas to turn back into regular oxygen. Your mask should have no smell to it when you take it out. So if you are no longer smelling anything, then that is a good sign. You also have to change your filter in the unit every 6 months.

I was wondering if I had to wait until my mask, headgear, and tubing was fully dry before disinfecting them? Also, how long after disinfecting the items may I use my machine? Someone please help me
Does water have to be in the cpap? I don't typically use the water chamber.
Did you figure out if it needed water ?
Take care!
@@DirectHomeMedical Thank you
Great Video and love the SoClean 2. I still wash the equipment with the bottle of prewash every few weeks. Does everything need to be completely dry before placing in the chamber and running through its cycle?
Hello, It is better to run the SoClean when your CPAP mask is completely dry. Take care.
How much are the products you recomend every 6 months?
Hello! For pricing information on all SoClean 2 products, please visit our website: www.directhomemedical.com
I just unpackaged and am preparing to set up my SoClean machine for the first time. There is no mention in your instructions or in the manual about how to prepare the filter cartridge. There is a clear film over it, a blue tape and a black rubber band type ring or gasket. I’m sure the first two items can be thrown out but what of the black gasket looking item?
it ok to use my SoClean machine while water is still inside the reservoir of my sleep pap?
Hello, Yes you can use water in your water chamber however you must make sure the black SoClean hose penetrates the surface of the water. If there is not enough water in the chamber, the SoClean will not sanitize it. Take care.

I have a heated hose for my unit, along with a heated water reservoir. The heat can either be turned on or off if that matters. I went to your website and could not find an adapter for it. Could you please provide me a link for it?
Hello, which CPAP machine do you use? The adapter is different depending on your machine.
CPAP cleaners completely sanitize all your CPAP accessories including mask, headgear, tubing and the water chamber. The best CPAP cleaners use activated oxygen and ultraviolet light instead of water to destroy 99.9% of bacteria, viruses and mold.
We agree!
the lid of my soclean unit does not stay closed..i have weighted it down so that it is closed. should the unit be replaced?
I do not use the humidifier. Do I still have to connect the empty reservoir to my CPAP in.order to be able to use the so clean? Thanks,
I got the same question.
@@1voiceofstl hello Parker, I ended up buying the so clean. I use it without the humidifier, but if you have any questions it might be best to ask so clean directly.
Just watched this, thanks for making this video! So helpful!
Do I have to disconnect the adapter from heated hose and soclean while I use cpap at night? And should I unplug cpap machine while cleaning it? Thanks
No, the SoClean Adapters are designed to stay permanently attached to your Sleep Therapy device.
is this procedure only for cleaning? or do you leave the black hose in all the time.
I sleep odd hours and I prefer to run a manual cycle. Is there a way to disable the automatic timer?
Automatic timer is mandatory. You have to set up a start time for your SoClean's automated schedule; but the SoClean machine will not start automatically unless your mask and tubing are in the machine with the lid closed and latched. You can close the lid and press the "Manual" button on the machine at any time to start a manual mode cleaning.
What if you travel and take your device away from home a few days a week. Will the machine start its cycle if not home or if I go on vacation?
Hello, The SoClean won’t operate without the mask
and hose present in the closed Disinfecting Chamber. Take care.
Can you clean with leftover distilled water still inside or am I to empty that out even single use?
Hello, It really is a personal decision; however, you can be assured that each time you run the SoClean, you are sanitizing the water in the humidifier. Take care.
Perfect instructions! Everything I needed to know. Thank you.
I have an irregular sleep schedule, so picking a single time to run it is not an option. Can it be set to manual only mode?

@@DirectHomeMedical Do I need to empty the water out every morning, or can the tube remain submerged under the water in the resevoir?

Is the ozone smell harmful when useing it after cleaning
Hello, activated oxygen, also called ozone or O3 occurs in nature. It is produced and used commercially in applications for sanitizing produce, waste and drinking water. The SoClean is designed to keep the activated oxygen enclosed in your CPAP equipment and the secure chamber. And, when the sanitizing process is complete, the ozone turns back into regular oxygen. Take care.
Why does the green light stay on when it is done cleaning
It's to let you know that the cycle is done. It will stay lit til you open the lid.

Is there a travel bag or case that can be used with the SoClean2?
Hi: Is it OK to detach the hose from the mask while in the cleaning chamber during it's operation? It would give more flexibility when loading the chamber. Thanks.
Yes, detaching the hose from the mask, as long as the hose is still inserted through the side slot, should not be a problem. Take care!

Hi, do you have to use this everyday?
It is recommended to do so, though you don't have to.
It took me a while to realize it actually doe not fit my CPAP. Call the representives? Why didn't you let me choose my CPAP model so that you can send me the right accessories in the beginning? Can you place in the machine while the air that you use over night is still blowing out of the c pap machine
So how does it sanitize? Without water? Just hot air?
Hello, The SoClean uses Activated Oxygen -
A powerful sanitizing agent.
