oh shit. A Shell Pink Senn, a green Rolling Rock, an orange pumpkin, a gold Maneki Neko, and a blue Impala. Its like aural Skittles for the soul.
StratMatt70 and there’s a full moon tomorrow. Might be a wild night all around.
Been tryin to go to sleep for a couple hrs.hmmmmmm
Your ‘little’ vids are showing the guitar world what can be done with a mobile phone and a bunch of talent.
Enjoy your beer, sir 👍🏻😎
There's nothing compares to Kerrygold on toast once you've had it. You're a man of impeccable taste Tom. Much love from Ireland
I don`t know if you realize but you rediscovered the guitar for so many of us. It`s crazy how much more we`re able to see in this instrument after last two months. Having a beer and a chat with Tom Bukovac is on my Bucket List.
Your little buddy from Cleveland playing Wembley. That was funny. Thats why when us club playing cronies in Cleveland are sitting around talking about Joe Walsh, Neil Geraldo, Neil Zaza, Wally Bryson, Eric Carmen and so many more...... your name is always at the top of the list. Hometown hero man, hometown hero!
Bill Kincaid neil was my guitar teacher !
didn’t realize there were two neils haha. Zaza was and still is the man. Him teaching and watching him on stage we’re two different people. I never truly understood as a kid that I was in the presence of a true virtuoso!
Tom, your effort with the Homeskoolin’ vids is the best thing that has happened EVER. My guitar playing has changed and especially my attitude or the way I think guitar, tone and gear has changed and has become so much more soulful, simpel and tasty. Thanks for the inspiration and for opening my eyes.
Same here man! Rediscovering how important chords are!
Amen!
Same here brother. really improved my playing and help guide my outlook on the instrument in a direction I knew it always needed to go which is becoming more musical and playing with as much feel as possible.
Same!
I have the same tee shirt from the tone shop . I got a great deal on a guitar and they put my gauge of strings on it and intonated it and put the Tee shirt under the headstock and shipped it :) . thanks Chad . Awesome jam Tom .thanks
You’re single handededly driving up stock on Rolling Rock, and crushing Gildan! LOL😂
😆😆
Tom, your musical opening to this episode was killer.
Tim Farney - it was mind blowing! 👍
Tone Shop is a gem. Right down the street from my sister’s house. Of all the guitar shops I’ve ever visited, walking into Tone Shop feels like I just walked into my house. Those people are awesome. Cool to see you rockin their shirt!
Clearly I'm late to your videos.
But I am trying to watch everything you do!
Mr Rhrods had it right, you always bring something of value.
I find what you do in your podcasts is like no other.
At 60 now learning the guitar you actually take the time and show us building a song.
The loop the beautiful phrases over it when to play a d when to let the art breath....
So I'm commenting on this peice now a few yrs old because
1) it's important to say thank you when someone takes time to teach so Thank you
2) your just a talent I didn't know existed! Until 2023.
Anyway I know this long but it's where I'm at a this point of learning.
Also, I am sorry for the loss of your good friend
Mr M Rhodes I watched him with Joe Bonamassa! I think he and Joe did like double lead awsome!
Thanks also for the tips on using open tunings if your an older and learning.
Cheers
Doug 😎
“ I can’t mention any names but it’s initials were
“ Famous Music “ 😂 😂 😂
That one gets me every time 😁
Holy crap I did not expect you to play that over that track. Truth be told when you turned that backing track on I thought "what is he going to do with that". The chords you use and what you play over them confounds and amazes me. You amaze me sir.
Probably the best guitar show in the world
Tom... You are the Fucking man!! I have been playing since 11 & now 40. Really dig your style man! RJB
Thanks Tom!
You know it's serious when both the cat and the jack-o-lantern are out. If a Christmas tree shows up next, it's over.
Tom, these 12 min videos have really inspired me man, can’t thank you enough. Also, those fluorescent lights on the ceiling, are likely the main cause of that 60 cycle hum 🧐especially the middle one with the bad ballast.
Good eye Charles, I been watching since day one and never noticed the ballast.
Fun Riff to roll with on the day of the Dog. Thanks Brother watch those fire pit nights...
I live in Northern Cal. I visited the Toneshop in the Dallas area. Cool t-shirt, cool store. Love your vids, thanks Tom.
Effortless my brother!
That kind of playing should win you some awards or something... oh wait!
Loving the show, Tom.
Buko officially WINS the internet!!
Game Over!!
He has the most impressive award collection. What a champ!
Love the videos, keep em rolling !
Love what you do. Thanks for sharing these videos. Encouraging and inspiring stuff. Authenticity is so rare!
Thank you! Great stuff!!!!!!
Heartfelt and much needed.
Thanks for all the great playing!
Thank you for sharing all your knowledge Tom
Thanks for doing this! Every day i am in lab early, and it really helps to take ~15min to check out your daily videos. Makes my day every time.
Really loving your show! Your tips, playing, stories and just how cool of a guy you are! Thanks so much from Los Angeles! Cheers!
Tom , you are a phenomenal player and I could watch and listen to you play and tell stories forever.
Some really awesome stuff Tom...thx
I am really diggin your opening jams.... so inspiring!
Don’t know how to describe what I’m watching! What an artist! Thank you 🙏
You are one of my favorite things in life right now...THANK YOU.
Keep up the good work bro! Dig the vids!
Wicked jam, love the phrasing, just frigging awesome bud! This is my second run through binge watching each volume, been learning more each episode on the 2nd trip, LOVE IT!👍
Thanks God I stumbled on your badcat serenade video last yearand made it one of my faves- been watching since you started these homeskoolin videos a month or so ago.. my guitars are out of the cases now and I’m playing more than I have in years. You inspire man! Thanks for all the great videos!
Hey Tom. Thank you so much for all your awesome insights and genuineness. These videos are really healing at this time, and you remind me of my guitar teacher who was a phenomenal guy, also named Tom. Take care man
Yet another killer one. I love when you do the, “can’t mention names” bit.
That was amazing! Beautiful tone and playing Sir - think I just soiled me drawers👏🏼
You definitely gave me some inspiration to throw on a fuzz pedal and work some tones into the evening yesterday-thanks for your home schoolin’.
Omg, man this is worth an album! This is just effing delicious dude!!
I almost can´t comprehend how good you are, man. It´s insane. I´ve said it before in your videos - it´s the best I´ve ever heard! Thank you!
Recently discovered your channel and still working to catch up on them all but wanted to say thanks for sharing your experience and knowledge with us! Yesterday I was working on one of your early how to sound like southern rock videos, and man it's pure gold. Those licks inspire others, and doors just open. I spent an hour working through that 3 minute video haha. I'm already doing one online course that's really helped my playing, and your perspective, context and tips have inspired even more! I hope you can get back to work when it's safe and I selfishly hope you keep doing these
Watching these episodes has shed some light on some things. I love guitar more and more every day and your teaching is helpful and inspirational. If you practice, stay focused, don't overthink it, and have fun you can be as good as you want to be on guitar. There are some who have a gift and aptitude for it but most just work their butts off and play all the time, alone and with other musicians. You have to woodshed, there are no shortcuts. Thanks for putting in the time and teaching us some of what you know. God bless and cheers man!
I thought that was a tough loop to play over. Never the less best channel on the tube! Keeps my spirits up daily. I wasn’t expecting another Senn, His guitars must top shelf.
I am here because of the honest delivery and conversation and of course fantastic playing. Slight confession: I don't listen to this kind of music much let alone play it( I am eastern european and I dig more ancient folk music from theses parts) but Tom has gotten me to expand my vocabulary. My fave guitar channel hands down.
Your a solid inspiration
Thanks for the cool progression and ideas Tom. Homeskoolers, keep those tips flowing in :)
Hey Tom. Greetings from Johannesburg, South Africa. At least this pandemic has some golden moments of positivity & inspiration, like Homeskoolin'. Thanks so much man.
Exactly what I'm doin.. chillin with a beer and a strat. Nice playing dude I've subscribed.
Can I just say, you've opened a well of inspiration in me!! Im writing melodies and finding chords that are "NEW" to me. Its great!! Thanks!!!
Gotta hear the story on how you got the Fogerty gig...Tom playing with another legend!
Hey Tom, This is my favorite channel on RUclips. Very inspirational, it’s like the RUclips channel I needed in my life, but didn’t exist until now. Low production. Real inspiration. Keep up the good work buk!!
Wow......Tom you are up 10K on the subscribers since last week! This is great! I hope you hit a million by the time this lock down is over!
Oh my I love the initials joke. My dad used to always say stuff like "I'm not going to mention any names but his initials are Peter Nelson" when I was in trouble.
My dad said the same thing but I never knew who Peter Nelson was .
TOM you play so gracefully man! Like a bird in flight, just so free to express. Thanks again
I mean, I already thought you were great and then you come out with the Kerrygold comment! Just discovered you recently but really loving your content. Also currently dying on my arse juggling work and home schooling our kids, so your t-shirt is a must-buy!
After watching the rig rundown that you were on I tried to find all your videos. You were like an Internet ghost. I'm really happy that you're doing there's videos now and I hope you keep then coming.
With you calling the chords that has me settled for an hour on your loop..thanks UL
Just brilliant Tom !!!
Hey BUKS! Just for you to know.. I was really inspired by your use of EQ on that rig rundown vid..
And yesterday I got myself one!! It is amazingly amazing and im having lotsa fun figuring it out.
So thanks!!!
Love your musicianship, Tom. You have amazing taste in your guitar playing. Homeskoolin' is so cool. Not to be missed...
Hey Tom! Thanks for your inspiration. I've got my guitars out of their cases and nowadays i play guitar every day. I watch your Homeskoolin show and i like your honesty, sense of humour and of course your wisdom and advices. Keep goin'!. Regards from Barcelona.
Hey THANK YOU for the wurlitzer trick last time AWESOME effect
The rest of the content is great too
Hello from France, huge new fan of yours
I gotta say. You're the only cat I know who can rock a salmon colored strat and still make it look cool. Keep it rockin' in the free world. FAQ da rona!!!!!
Tom, seriously - what you just played at the beginning is one of the greatest guitar solos I’ve ever heard. What a talented cat you are!
Man your bends are inspiring.....for some reason listening to your classes made me dig out some JJ Cale records
Joined you after seeing you with Tim Pierce - glad to see this channel.
It's a privilege to get to hang with you in your garage as often as I do.
And that's what it feels like, hanging with a friend in his garage that's sharing his guitar experience.
I was just picturing us all showing up in your garage at the we same time.
Pretty crowded! :)
Perhaps in an arena in a future time and place! :)
Cheers!
Rhett Shull - had a link on his video for your video series, so, I’ve been binge watching them. Great stuff. I really enjoy your songs at the beginning. I guess we caught up in the newer dance songs in a band, that we just concentrate on what gets people up & dancing, & what is in the vocalists range. So great songs get lost in the shuffle, I guess. I’m a guitarist in a Dance Band. Now sitting home, luckily I’m retired so not living on playing out.
Love your personality man. Bet it would be a hoot to hang out with you and chew the fat. Thanks for what you are doing in these more than tough times! You Rock and blues, and al that other cool stuff you do!
Love the intro Tom. Very Beatle-esque. Great soulful playing as usual.
Hey Tom. I was gonna comment but I gotta run my A/C filter needs changing. Thanks for the reminder.
Rhett sent me over to you and I’m glad he did! Every time you mention Cleveland I think Ohio. Hate Cleveland Ohio but you’re in Tennessee! I drank a shit to of Rolling Rock back in the day. That or PBR. Really marvel at your talent! And your humility!!! Keep the videos coming!!
Thanks for exposing us to all of your musical insight. You remind me very much of my lifelong friend from when I used to play in bands (in the 70's & 80's), in skill & talent, how you play sensibility-wise, and general persona. When he passed he left me some of his equipment and I've been trying to learn to play some of the things that I naturally hear in my head, which is him playing guitar (if you're interested, some of our old stuff on my RUclips page). So seeing what you do really helps in that regard (not that I can do it, but I try). Anyway, this may be noobish but it would be helpful to me at this time in my progression to see/know how you are creating the tones that you are playing in your videos i.e. amp and settings, guitar knob settings, effect boxes, etc. I just got a Katana with my stimulus money and am working to use that effectively. So thanks again. Stay safe & well.
hahaha ... I cant mention any names but it's initials are ... famous music. hysterical. I had to rewind and listen to that again. by the way - ive still got "never my love" sifting through my head from a bunch of volumes back and ive been opening every practice session with it, eyes closed and loving life - thanks for the inspiration. youve also helped me to lighten my grip and play softer, with more space and care and i really needed that, so thank you session man. thank you very much.
Mate. If you're ever in Sydney (Australia) there is a very large, very cold beer awaiting you. Learning SO much in lockdown and loving your style - keep that train rolling!!
You’re a master of dynamics. Damn, dude.
Hey Tom - It's my birthday tomorrow (54!) - I think it 's time for an installment of Prog Rock Duo! I absolutely love all of your musical nuggets - my sticky-note jot pad is getting full though! I write myself reminders to check things and people out after class is over - it's all helping me play my age! Cheers from The Ottawa Valley in Ontario, Canada!
I love how you fit in the swig at the end of the jam. classic
Rhett Shull sent me here, glad he did :)
Phil Collins said how much he loved Tina Turner. As you know, Wembley was a special place for him with Genesis. He was stoked by the history of the place. Of course 4 nights with 87,000 of your closest friends.
That tone is so sweet
The opening piece really brings Jimmy Herrings Lifeboat Serenade to mind.
Couldn’t think of bigger compliment.
I doubt I’m the only one who wants the Gibson SG God to share some wisdom on the “Golden years” for the SG... like you did with the 335s a few videos back. Thanks for the inspiring videos.
Hi Tom, Thank you so much for doing this segment. There is something raw and authentic about your videos that is resonating with a lot of us during this time. Your down to earth approach and wisdom is greatly appreciated.
I have a few questions for you. If you were picking up a guitar for the first time all over again where would you start? 2nd question What is the most important thing that you learned on the guitar that improved your playing the most? All the best, Jake
I think my favourite word in english is Beatlesque, and that defines that harmony on this lessons background loop. Great job!
Yesss it's so good 👏👍👌💪🤘🎶
You are one tasty player Tom. The shit you play never ceases to amaze me! Keep it up....PLEASE!
I got back into learning guitar at the beginning of lockdown, after something like 11 years off. I've got maybe a couple hundred hours in total and at least 50% of that over the last month. I've binge watched all your lessons in the last 2-3 days and LITERALLY EVERYTHING you have to say about guitar playing is at least 99 levels above my head... but this morning I nailed Green Sleeves, so thanks!
p.s. Guiness drinkers will disagree, but KerryGold is probably the single greatest Irish export.
wtg Robin Hood!
You are a seriously talented nice guy Tom! \m/
Tom , could we please have a guitar lessons !!!?
You’re the guitar player I want to be . The way you play lead is so smooth and pocketed
damn.. I need a looper.. that was a badass loop. Thanks Tom!
love the bends tom...
reminds me of with a little help from my friends my kind of jam
Hey Tom. Hi from kildare in Ireland. Interestingly Kerry Foods (who make kerrygold ) headquarters are about 6 miles from my house! Love the show mate.
The color of that guitar is ace
God Speed You Tom from Cleveland 😉
Greats from Portugal
