This has an impact on investment in urban infrastructure and security. Rio, for example, has a modern subway system, better urbanized neighborhoods, better service offerings, greater investment in security.
So it's an unfair comparison. It's like comparing New York with Lousiana, which is 10 times less rich.
Vou discordar só sobre o metrô. O metro de Salvador é bem mais moderno que o do Rio e mais eficiente, fazendo integração com pontos estratégicos de Salvador como rodoviária, aeroporto, terminais de ônibus e brt's. Sem contar também que os três dos metrôs de Salvador serem mais novos, até porque o metrô de Salvador é muito novo, entrou em funcionamento, se não me engano em 2014. Eu morava no Rio, odiava pegar metrô lá, aqui em Salvador tem sido um experiência boa. Só falta ampliar a malha metroviária.

I live in Toronto, there has been crime recently but it's really not that bad. My wife is Brazilian, we met here. There are tons of Brazilians here and in the U.S. and the number 1 reason they left is hecause of violence. Don't be fooled they don't all look like criminals that's the deceiving thing. I went to Rio once and man the place is beautiful but we were followed once and another time favella kids wanted our drinks, apparently we were lucky. I'm originally from Montreal and I can pick whose from somewhere else 2 blocks away, in Brazil they can do the same.
