I'm really glad to see this campaign, I used to play it years ago on Flaming Cliffs 2 (I think it was the first one I ever played too) it's not the easiest campaign, especially in Flaming Cliffs 3 where the SAM hits stopped being based upon percentages and became more realistic.
Bunyap Sims Why aw come on, you'll do fiine~ xD If it can help I'll repeat what they said to Su-25 pilots in Afghanistan: always fly at 800km'h, always have a wingman to spot SAM launches, and always have a safe entry/exit to the target. AFAIK this campaign has a lot of manpads just like the soviet Afghan war, from my own experience I already avoided 3 stingers in a row just by making a large barrel roll, so if you're ever bug down in a mission try that :P As long as you fly low enough not to get the attention of the F-4s it'll be an enjoyable campaign to play I'm sure :)
You'll love the Su-25, the DCS flight model may not go supersonic like the real deal but it can still take as much hits as an A-10, is less prone to get hit by infrared missiles, they say it has two modified Mig-21 turbojet engines in it, you can land it on grass and the big tires and suspension will just shrug it off. it really is an aircraft you fall in love with. Edit: to land it on grass, just land it like you'd do a three-point landing on a taildragger, stall it a foot above the ground and let it drop. It's pretty fun to do :D
Rainbow Soviet Dash yes sir. ive come to DCS for the a-10, my first sorties were in f-15s and now that i actually got a HOTAS and TrackIR5 I started learning the su-25t. Im in love now. once i got the T doen, ill look at the "normal" su-25.
kazapowa Thanks! My plan for the weekend is to finish mission 2 (mission 1 is already flown but not edited and compiled yet) and to do some more C-101 videos. I'm really impressed with it so far.
Im looking forward to the T-1A hawk vids :) love that plane and your toturials :).... some day it would be nice if you would make a guide to right use countermasures and how to fly in case of missile on you tail
kristianholm88 Yeah, the Hawk is going to be fun. :) Countermeasures and missile avoidance are probably up next in the A-10. Maybe next weekend... the Su-25 and C-101 has my attention at the moment. :)
Love this series! It's inspired me to do my own play through of the campaign. Was wondering, what does ECM in the Su-25 actually do? Or is it even modeled in DCS?
I had just finished this first mission (about a month ago...) when one of the patches introduced a buggy TDC Slew. It used to be smooth as a fresh jar of Skippy(TM) but now it just jumps all over the place. Curious to see how you deal with it in the later videos! This is such a fun plane in the DCS sim. I enjoy flying it into combat better than the SU-25T just because it is so 'mechanical'...if that makes sense. :-)
Angel Roldan Yeah, fine adjustments are a little tricky. I will probably stick with bombs and rockets unless there are missions where I absolutely have to keep from over-flying the target. I definitely prefer this one over the T model myself. :)
Hello my friend, I am a long time flight simmer (civil) and I'm thinking of getting into DCS. If I were to purchase, for example the F-86F and download it into DCS world would I theoretically have all the other aircraft available as AI targets/friendlies in missions? I'm a little confused to be honest.
Bunyap Sims Thanks for the info. In any case I will be waiting for the next sales before taking the plunge (just missed the last ones, doh!). Is there any preference between having steam version or buying direct? Whichever sale comes first I guess!
+HypezGamingHD Maybe a late reply but it depends, I feel like the T gives me a more digital experience.. the info on the hud, the Shkval system and the Vihkr missiles to start with. The A is old school, lots of instrument reading and staring outside the window to find tiny pixel sized targets. The A is better for "suppression" air attack, while the T is a precision instrument if you use it right. Ehh let me put it this way because of a lack of words from me: 25T = almost on par with A10s 25A = jet powered FW190 with laser guidence lol
+PittBull243 You bet. At the time, I was just using Devrim's cockpit mod: Devrim's English Cockpit: www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/722566/ Later, I started using Mustang's Shaders and Textures: forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=133618
This plane need their own full module
alejandro risé The F-15 too.
totally agree with you
I love Cold War based storylines, so I can't wait to see you play this campaign. Thank you for posting.
This is awesome! Love that you are doing an old Su-25 campain. :)
GreyMaulkin Yeah, I guess it is a little old. I have never flown Red Air so it's all new to me though. :)
Your game plays are very detailed ,the way we like ..Thanks for making such marvelous videos.

Rainbow Soviet Dash Geez, my confidence level just went down. :) I hope you enjoy it.

Do you play the irken anthem when you come to bomb your enemies? :D
Great! I would love to see more campaigns, especially for these easier to fly planes. Keep up the good work!
Great stuff! Looking forward to more vids from dcs campaigns.
Looking forward to this series!
Stephen Fitzpatrick Thanks! I hope you enjoy it.
You gotta do more of these Bunyap! The cold war missions were so fun!
Yep, I'm finishing the campaign as soon as I get some computer issues sorted out. I couldn't agree more, this is a great set of missions!
hey bunyap good video as always! waiting for next chapters. also for some c-101 footage :)
greetings from spain

The red light on the right of the gunsight comes on to indicate when to release.

What is the difference between DCS World and Lock On Flaming Cliffs 3? Great video btw :)
its the same basically. FC3 is an addon to DCS World
hello bunyap sims, are these campaigns freeware or do you have to pay for them? (I'm new to DCS)

robdave1 Yeah, absolutely. All the flyable aircraft are available as AI and are usually there before the flyable version is released.

I find the campaign scenario hilariously ridiculous :)
+DanTheDragonslayer
Yeah, looks like the creator wanted to reenact WW2 with 1989 weaponry.
Hi bunyap, just wondering if you have the range available as a mission file?
can you press all the buttons inside the plane like in for example the A10c?
no
How did manage to remove that TVset on the right of the front dash board?
It's the early model SU-25 which wasn't fitted with the Shkval display
Hello,What the system needs this game? i have Hp laptop core7 HP Pavilion 15-p038ne. can i play with in model laptop?
hello. where can i download this campaing thank you
what are the campaigns for the Su-25?
I love it. An aggressive and decisive NATO.
Is there a way to download the mission you are playing?
how do you add the tacview in your screen game?
Ernesto Reyes It is added after the fact when I edit the videos. I record it separately and splice it into the normal view.
Is it much different or better than the su-25t?
