I really wish they would bring these back with an updated version. Their routers were so easy to set up and use, and having the time capsule built in was pretty neat.
I got a 2TB Time Capsule today for $30AUD to use as a time machine backup for my maxed 2012 MBP which is my daily portable - doing the 1st Time Machine back up now 🙂
I still had an older Time Capsule until recently, the one that was shaped like a Mac Mini or old Apple TV. It started dropping the 5ghz band and i would have to reset it to get working again. I searched to see if there was a repair possible, but then I looked at eBay and saw that I could get a newer used Airport Extreme for $20-30, so I went with that. The newer Airport Extreme gives me 600 MBps speeds on the 5Ghz band, and the full 1GBps when wired. I bought a second Airport Extreme and was super easy to set it up as a mesh network. I might get a third Airport Extreme to expand my coverage to my backyard. I'm a happy camper with these Apple routers, but I do hope we get something new soon.
I just came across one in a fifth wheel that I purchased that pretty much brand new and I'm wondering if there's any way I can make any good use of this thing ?
I am still using my apple airport and it's worked so seamlessly and without problem that I haven't noticed it nor even knew that Apple was no longer in the "market".... Boy I feel out of date... lol I better watch your guide to see about the mesh router, never know when a device will fail and mine is from 2014 I believe...
Wow feel so old since, I remember when the first Airport Base station and first internal Airport WiFi cards were brand new. Still have one of the old "space ship" designed Airport base station sitting in a box in my home. When these were new, most home users only had dial-up telephone Internet service. So, these units came with both an Ethernet port and a 56K modem port (smile...smile).
The original Airport Express had a particularly good DAC (D to A converter) that provided unusually wonderful sound quality as well as exemplary measurements. The most recent Airports no longer have a DAC or an analog audio out which is a definite down side to those of us who recognized the original's use in quality audio systems.
☠BLACK BARON☠ Airport and sync of iOS devices still behaves a little "odd" whenever Instagram and Whatsapp updates are waiting to be sucked down from the app store and smashed onto iOS devices. Any iDeas?

I think it would be cool to see how Apple would tackle a mesh network + integration into the Apple Ecosystem
@@AppleGuideWeb they could integrate the mesh system into the HomePod Minis.
great video !

This is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks!
Very well made video
Wowee setting up my wifi router was as simple as, going into settings and setting it up like a normal wifi router
Truly incredible

Thank you very much. This was very helpful. Great video! Subscribed.
Thank you. I did not realize the airplay feature. Airport was really ahead of its time. Wish apple would come out with a new lineup.
great video
The airport express has a cd quality DAC inside very good sound .. look up Ken Rockwell.

Wish they would bring time capsule back
I found a old IMac & AirPort Extreme at a goodwill. No I have no room for them. I don’t know what to do with it.
👍
