    We have not had a nice looking currency note since the 1928 series.Even the fractional notes are mini works of art.Our currency today looks like monopoly money.A lot of world currency is not even made of paper anymore.

    It would be awesome if the govt released some of these designs on today's money, with security features like they did with the Mirgan and Peace dollars. Same size as today's money but with throwback designs.

    As a paper currency collector,it was cool to watch this.I have quite a few of those you shown.The BEP didn't start until 1862,so ABNCo printed a lot of notes,as well as US stamps.The Educational,Chief, Bison,and the Porthole notes are quite in demand.The last note, Tombstone note, features Thomas Hendricks,Grover Cleveland's VP only for a few months before passing away.For those interested,the book, Paper Money of the US,by Arthur and Ira Friedberg,is an excellent source of info.

    Those educational notes are sweet looking, definitely one on the ole bucket list. It's a shame that our modern currency has lost the artistry of these old notes. World notes are also enjoyable to collect, loads of interesting subjects from animals to scumbag dictators.

    So many neat notes. Buffalo notes are really outstanding. About a dozen notes remain from our family bank that closed in 1932. Never should have been closed. Two of the hand signed by great grandfather and great great uncle of the 2nd charter brown backs have survived, 1A and 1D from the first plate , as well as less than a dozen of the newer notes. Of the 12,500 chartered banks I guess nearly 5,800 were closed which of course makes them very rare as the currency was traded in and destroyed when banks closed. There are no known bills for some banks. Truly one of a kind in many cases. Sadly, I have to believe that notes 1B and 1C were lost to a fire in January of 1921.

    History is at the top of my list of favorite things, but I have to wonder about future prices on historical items. I think GEN X is the last generation that cares about history enough to spend money to own some of it. Gen y and z are too busy staring at their iphones telling the world what they are wearing, eating and feeling every 5 minutes to care about people that lived in the past. So will gen X be able to sell their historical items to a self absorbed gen z at a higher price than we paid for them. Thats the question.

    I feel like finding a Bison for only "several" hundred dollars is extremely rare. Depends on your definition of "several", though.

    • @CoinHELPu
      @CoinHELPu  3 месяца назад

      No, it depends on the dictionary definition not your or my opinion on what several means. It's more than 2 and less than many, so $300 to $500 and that is their value in the condition shown in this video.
