Hey everyone! I am working on a Fusion course where I go in-depth explaining the different aspects of the Fusion page! Click here to learn more and sign up for an exclusive discount when the course goes live! email.fusionmastery.com/sign_up
Excellent tutorial. We love to see more of converting 2D to 3D with a real person inside the image (for example 2 Soccer players in the field and a ball and apply camera movements}.
Thank you
It would be great to have a refreshed version of this tutorial with Resolve 19, mixed with the new USD system
Thank you!!!! More content like this!!!! More tutorials of 3d compositing in Fusion tab! 🙂
Yes yes
If you don't want to rely on third party websites to be online. To calculate resolutions for aspect ratios you can just type the calculations in the field.
For width: you take height and multiply with aspect ratio.
For height: you divide width with aspect ratio.
Like, 2160*(16/9) = 3840
Or 3840/(16/9) = 2160
This is a fantastic tutorial
Thank you very much from Los Angeles. Your tutorial is great! I find camera projection quite interesting.
3d is so underseerved on youtube , please make more for fusion
Yes it is! I am working on making more!
Thanks this was really helpful. I'm really starting at the humble grass roots level in Fusion and trying to reach a bit for projecting soft shadows from 2d images. A little too far over my ski tips, but looking forward to learning more. Definitely subbing your channel!
Absolutely amazing! Unlimited power!
Very interesting to learn how to take 2D images and make them 3D. Thanks for sharing.
I had no iddea , I can do that with Davinci! great job
That's what I was looking for 😁 Thanks Jake 👌 Good Job 💪
Wow, thisi is magic! BlackMagic)
Thanks.
you always make fusion look so easy!! thankyou, Jake. great content!
I just started with video after working with animation programs. I was amazed how realistic this looks. Thank you for showing u your work flow. Yes i would love to see more. like for instance ... " how to grab an outside image cut it in layers and align them that it looks 3d . ok perhaps to much too ask but i saw something like that in after effects ... and although i'm not ready for that yet i like to see if something like that is possible in fusion davinci resolve ... thanx again 👍
Dude this was excellent! I'm pretty new to Resolve, but have been diving deep down the rabbit hole. Great content, thanks for putting this out into the world! ✌️
excellant training, very precise expiation would love to see more on projection. thank you for sharing your time and talent !!
Awesome, thank you for sharing :)
Great video. you made it easy to learn . thanks .
Very useful tutorial! Thank you so much! Subscribed!
Yes more on camera mapping please!
WTF!!!!!!! THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH!!!.... BRILLIANT!......
Keep crankn out the videos
This was awesome Jake!! Excellent tutorial. I done 90% of the tutorial following your instructions but I couldn’t get the projection of the left wall to work. I’ll have to try it again. I wanted to ask do you have a tutorial on using the projection as a set extension or something? Love to see how it would be used. Thanks again!!
Nice video
Instead of using a luma key you could also use a channel booleans node and set the alpha to red fg :)
Thank you
super cool man
I needed this.
fantastic cheers
Could you maybe show us how to do the same thing but like if we had a image with objects such as a couch and we want it there then how would we go about making it?
gran video tio!
Sir, I am in need of help. Can you describe how to create a Super NES mode 7 effect? Obtain a 2D sprite, warp it to 3D, and allow it to scroll across the screen, as in MODE 7 games such as F-zero. I tried and failed. Please help.
Yooo.... 😱creative mind! 💯
The end product look like a room from call of duty world at war video game on PlayStation 3 😆 but I may say at least he got it done,me in the other hand I would've made it look like roblox 🤣😭🤣. Interesting video 👍
Need projection of card extrude by model builder like in nuke....on fusion..is it possible
Leave a link for input images
Awesome, you deserve more views. We should be friends
is there an update to this tutorial? is the 18.5 still compatible with this tutorial?
Hi, if I wanted to assign a separate texture to every plane would I have to assign each plane to a separate 3d merge node, have them share the same camera, and finally merge them back together with a 2d merge node, or could I simply assign a 3d project node to each plane?
I think if you plug each projector into the plane nodes scene input it will work. Otherwise what you said would work. You could also play with the projector id.
cool!
Amazing tutorial! But why do you have to always use a background node when adding something? Why not just leave the transparency behind it? Like what does the background node change?
Edit: Especially with the grid, you added a background, just to remove it again with the luma keyer
Hi Jake, can we create a similar 3d background to look like Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj scenario? use video and images with curves, i will stay in the right side and i wanna have videos and images in the left but curve and not straight like the tonight show.
If you happen on this comment, how does one place a 3d object within a 3d projection and light it? I have placed a test sphere in my 3d scene, but I can't light it. The projection is cast on it.
Thank you! I really like your tutorials!
Amazing. I'm going to die trying to do this
If you checked 'auto resolution', wouldnt that determine the correct pixel ratio when you resize it?
It takes the projects resolution. The Image that I was resizing too was a different aspect ratio.
Can you do a anmophic bin effect?
I will look into it.
at 8:52 when you add the Projector, I had it, but then I made zoom and it disappeared now it zone work is all black what can I so now? I deleted and I created a new one but still the camera it is gone, help me please 🤷♂️
Jake how do we integrate green screen footage camera movement with the the converted 3D image camera movement
You would need to use the 3d camera tracker and set up a 3d scene
Jake Wipp would love to see a tutorial on that
How to add a motion blur when we have camera rotations?
It is in the 3d render node. I have a full tutorial on motion blur on my channel as well.
Hey you are not appearing in the top of the davinci resolve tutorials search results... I'm telling this.. Cuz you need to be... I came to know about you from reddit... Try to keyword and hashtag your RUclips videos so that it comes on top. Thenks a ton..I watched all your videos today. Hoping for more :) all the best
Btw where can we use this effect tho?
Hey thanks so much! This effect was a request from a patreon supporter. It can be used to make it look like the image is 3d.
@@JakeWipp Oh cool.
Btw it possible to create that building bending scenes from Inception and Dr strange using the same 3d techniques and some tracking and stuff? If yes.. Then could you (the expert) find a way to do it? 😬
Possibly although definitely not to the extent that they did in the movies. In the movies the reflections change, I
the buildings structure changes and a bunch of other advanced stuff. They did use Fusion for some of the compositing in that movie though which is cool!
Why is there no grid
What grid are you referring too?
Davinci Resolve Tutorials there is only grid wrap
Check if you are using the latest version of Davinci Reoslve(I was using 16.2) and if you have that something must have gone wrong in the installation. You may have to reinstall it.
Davinci Resolve Tutorials k thank you

Thanks you. Creative and clever technique :)
Keep crankn out the videos

Sir I need your help. Can you explain how to make a Super NES mode 7 effect? Getting a 2D sprite, warp it to 3D and let it scroll into the screen like MODE 7 games like F-zero. I tried and keep failing..please please.
