love how Europeans consider a midsized Volvo a family hatch meanwhile in America most families can barely afford a 5 year old used midsized sedan. that's a luxury car here
I love how you're generalizing a whole continent and making it seem like Americans don't often drive expensive gas guzzlers, from sedans to colossal trucks and SUVs... The Volvo V40 is a C-segment hatchback, just like a VW Golf or an Audi A3. I've never heard anyone refer to a C-segment hatchback as a "luxury car" - at most some of them are marketed as premium, but not luxurious. A midsized or D-segment sedan would be something of the likes of a Volvo V60, BMW 3 Series, etc. You're comparing apples to oranges. Your comment would be the equivalent of me saying all Americans can afford cars with big displacement V8 engines, but I know that's not the case. Likewise, for many Europeans it would be a luxury to afford something like a 5 year old used Volvo V40. Just some fuel for thought...
I don't like the Merc system in the truck, that seems to just brake the truck to a dead stop, when it comes up behind slower traffic (not just slow the truck down)
Anti-Crash Tech really haven't moved much forward since 2013 when this was aired. CarWow did a quick test a few days ago, and well. It didnt go to well with the 2021/22 models they tested. Pore Kangaroo, pets and kid.
I am still not able to understand why are you uploading such old videos. Sure, you might be reminding people who bought S-class back in 2010 that they bought a flagship car with not so responsive system.
They're trying to raise the funds through their YT channel... And not doing a great job of it, if we're honest. The big network production model is dead anyway... RUclips channels such as Throttle House and Haggerty, for example, have made them completely obsolete and are already producing higher quality work routinely.
Now do a video follow up showing how it's improved over the last 10 years.
Watch CarWow's "Will Tesla kill a cat" from a couple of weeks ago (or so)
Mercedes just smashed it 😂

Nothing like discovering so you spent 100k on a super safe car with crash everytime 😉👍

Is this a reupload from more than 10 years ago?
Nice feature but does it account for weather and tyres?
3:48 This numberplate a legend😀
Love how they excluded the one car with a brain, a tesla. Not saying it's perfect, but would be very intersting to see how it compares.
this channel ages like fine milk
lol

More Tiff please
V40 is my favourite car 😍
Why are u guys re uploading very old videos
£££££'s.
Nothing more. Nothing less.
Everyone seems to be doing it for more ££££'s.
It's called being a greedy ****!
I hate tech 😂 we got Volvo semi and they use the same tech, it panics At all times and it brakes by itself.
Why are anti-crash features an extra?!
Because people think they're great drivers and are more worried about the colour and size of alloy wheels than something "they'll never use".
At least they have a optional, here don't exist. :'(

It's still 2013 in RUclips land. Let's all buy Bitcoin
Good video.... But now 10 years out of date.
Why are you, _Fifth Gear,_ showing us a video from 2012? 🤔
It'll be like the RAF showing us a film of their new fighter jet. The Harrier. 🤔😶😉
This is an old video
Team volvo
Uploading the ancient tech based reviews really ages the channel's available content... Fifth Gear isn't very good at the internet.
Cant u guys do anything anymore, like, make a new vid
I agree. Will be interesting to see in actual models

They're turning into the BBC. All full of repeats.
Fifth gear must be desperate to post again such an outdated video and content!
Old video.
