As a retired farmer, who was a "wild man " on a tractor in my teenage years, the shoe lace was caught on brake pedal, he could have pushed in brake pedal or just push in the clutch pedal, he was totally inexperienced, got scared and panicked.
I forgot how intense that scene was. as an older guy now, i'm less worried about losing pride and i'm thinking... "oh man, i bet that tractor is EXPENSIVE. Dont lose, Kevin, they'll send you to jail for destruction of property."
same here, their families were dependent on those machines for their livelihoods, his father should've tanned his hide within an inch of his life for being that stupid...I mean, cool scene, but in real life, really stupid
Almost Paradise is one of my all-time favorite love songs! Amazing songwriting collaboration between Eric Carmen on the music and Dean Pitchford on the lyrics!!
There's an odd phenomenon where you get this weird feeling of satisfaction from seeing this song paired with a scene where someone is shifting gears with some sort of machinery. It happened once when I saw the Tetris movie where they shifted the car into high gear during the chase scene, and it happened again when I saw this scene where he shifted gears to use the bulldozer. Anyone else have that weird, but satisfying feeling?
2:07 Kevin Bacon could not stop neither get out the tractor throughout the entire race. Curiously, as soon as the bully gave up, Kevin's tractor finally stopped and he easily get out. Is this a Miracle ????
That feeling when you sit back down and you just have to accept what's coming it's like you know this is either going to make me either way. When you have nothing to lose only your ego then you have everything to gain. Take the pain as well as the feeling good because both are required to get through this life. It's all necessary and only really makes true sense in the end. That is were the solitude of your being defines it's reason for living. Anything worth-while is worth fighting for and failing for in life to succeed. Both are necessary for you to feel and be humble and human.
As a 42 year old man, tears are coming down my face because this was the best music, best movie, the best era in America 🇺🇸 history. I miss that magical decade.
@@theguywithanobjective482 Neither of those tractors can do 20 MPH. The one was a Massey Ferguson 180. 19.2 MPH max speed. Bacon's tractor appeared to be a John Deere 2640. 16.4 MPH max speed. And neither one was doing anything like that.
Haven't watched this in near 40 years and heading to the stage show. Great memories of great music, but isn't this scene SO like the race in Grease? 😂😂🎶🏎️
@@justinstearns9723 Cool, I've never driven one myself, so I just assumed. He does look like he's trying to get more speed tho, even though he's actually shitting it lol.
Chanson composée par jim Steinman pour le film croyant au succès du film il a choisi Bonnie Tyler pour l'interpréter et toujours accompagnés du chanteur et choristes Rory Dodd et son falsetto unique !
In addition to seeing Footloose in the theater, we watched it in High School one day when we had a substitute teacher, well 2 actually...I'm guessing they were low on subs and sent two girls from the University...Good Times!
Brilliant TV series but sorry to hear that the actor Jon -Erik Hexum who starred in the TV series sadly passed away during filming and Antony Hamilton took over the role, forgotten the character s name with 2:37 Jennifer O'Neill and fellow actor Richard Anderson. 🎬🎥🙏♥️👍
In the words of Bonnie Tyler, we're holding out for a hero. But unlike the song, originally recorded for the movie Footloose, starring Kevin Beacon, Britain got its hero, Winston Churchill. The first question is who or what is Churchill. The answer is... who.
Never even heard of this movie. Don't remember any songs from Shrek except Immigrant Song. But this song will always reminds me the finale of Saints Row The Third.
The town of Taber Alberta saw several bylaws passed banning spitting, yelling, and swearing in public as well as banning of music that could be deemed as "annoying" and groups of 3 or more people in a public place can be broken up. There was a group there called Save Us Bacon whose goal is to raise enough money to pay Bacon to fly to Taber to host a "raucous dance party/protest against an embarrassing, archaic, vaguely worded law passed by an out of touch town-council - held of course, just outside of Taber. Help us bring a big city kid to a small town who knows he has to win." I guess you could say they were Holding Out for a Hero.
Only 80's music can make this kind of scenes epic!

So epic!❤
I can't imagine a better song for this scene. 80s rock forever. This was the first fast and furious scene ever. 😂
Fast & furious never involved any tractors, lol
It was composed for the movie
1984
Amazing how Chuck was able to get full surround sound with that portable cassette player.
😅🤣😅🤣
The 80's was truly a magical time.
@@XR171 in so many ways.

This is a badass scene, and the song works so well. It isn't one of my favorite movies but this scene gives it a good boost.

yea
fredlburrows yup
excavators slowly driving towards each other... insane stuff!
Eh, I disagree.
I had no idea this song was actually written for the film until yesterday.
I know, isn't that wild?
i had no idea until just now
Neither did I. Honestly thought it was written for Short Circuit 2.
Ah yes! When number 5 is sparking and he being chased that's what I thought when Iwould always hear it lol
So many people think that this song was written for Shrek 2.
This was the day when he was no longer just 'kevin, the guy in the red shirt.' but he became something else, the Bacon. The Kevin Bacon.
OK
Best comment on RUclips right here!
Kevin Bacon, the Baconator. wait, that's a sandwich at wendy's. nevermind.
👏👏👏

or pulled his foot out of the shoe
He is inexperienced. This is his first time on a tractor. He had no idea what he is doing. That's why it is funny.
His pull out game was weak.
hell yeah he was panicked. They were traveling at speeds up to 5mph.
I forgot how intense that scene was.
as an older guy now, i'm less worried about losing pride and i'm thinking...

Poor bloke couldn't get his footloose.
and now you know where they got the title for the movie.
Oh my god. Discovered 7 years after the fact, and that pun is so beautiful I only have five words for you. Fuck you, you beautiful bastard.
Great.
Hahaha
I bet the only reason you looked for this video was to comment that, and you're a fucking legend because of that.
The number one song of choice for an eighties showdown.
I would hate to grow up in this present time. What memories!
Wow ., this brings back so many memories of the good old days.. this is absolutely a classic song and movie as well.. too cool 😎
Most epic tractor chicken race of all time
Another favorite scene! RIP Chris Penn
The mountains of Southern Illinois look beautiful in the background.
It was filmed in Payson, Utah.

Movie scenes and music that I can watch and listen over and over again, and makes me feel emotional!!!
THIS is what this song was attached to before Short Circuit 2? It's a good thing the song was strong enough to stand on It's own.
And whit shrek 2

Chicken in tractors going about 5 mph. Oh the suspense! Hurry up and jump out to avoid a mildly annoying sudden stop!
that was more than 5 mph it was about 20 and those things are old the chances you will slam your face on the steering wheel and get a broken tooth

Looking at the tractors is different from being in the tractors about to run into each other.
One of the best songs ever.

I’m guessing you think an asshole like Chuck shouldn’t be behind the wheel of one?
Nice touch with how he wanted to jump off but was stuck, made it more realistic in my opinion
I not only watched this in the theater as a kid but also had half off the ticked for bringing in a walkman. Christ I'm so old.
LOL I saw this in the theatre too.
Peter Quill, is that you?
Don't apologise we know quality when we see it, I still have my Walkman in 2019 and still use it

how was kevin bacon a heart throb and why was he in a game of tractor chicken with justin trudeau?
peterpan0114 hahahaha nice

Lol 😅😅😅😅😅
It was the 80s. You had to be there to understand.
@Ryan Irwin- Diehl the third karate kid he was 27 so you’re right almost 30. But the first karate kid he was 21 .
