A new game made by Arkhouse. I featured one of his games (The Seal of the Curse) on my channel before. Here is a next one. This platformer has uniquely styled graphics and it is a rather short game. Despite it being rather small, though, it will take some time to complete it. The reason for that is a very (VERY) high difficulty. And I am not kidding. Just as much as this game is beautiful - it is cruel to player. I can say for sure that the creator of this game is an amazing artist but I really think that he could use someone else just to limit his creativity in terms of gameplay. Playing this game was an interesting experience for me and I really like most of the bosses (except Brom who is rather boring) so I think, I can recommend you to try it.
great art style, but yes, gameplay its very difficult, only for expert or for people who like this art style, but nothing else (this game is more art than fun)
There's something about the lack of fluidity in character movement and the too-quiet mobs that just... this feels like a flash game. A good one, sure, but still.
the aesthetic is amazing, but watching this the animation could use some work, and the gameplay a bit more polish. I probably will play it at some point and enjoy it though, and hopefully the developer can keep refining his craft, I think he could make something truly incredible.
Boss list: 00:31 Boss 01. Yorick 03:05 Boss 02. Azoth 05:08 Boss 03. Radium 06:12 Boss 04. Brom 08:00 Boss 05. Amony 14:31 Boss 06. Dracula 16:25 Boss 07. Titan (Secret Boss) 20:48 Final Boss - Draculaboris
Don't watch from 8:00 - 14:30 if you have any epilepsy/neurological issues. Those moving lines in the background almost triggered a migraine for me, and I imagine they could do worse for other people.
This game has a very beautiful art, excellent atmosphere and excellent piano pieces. But i think, the only problem is the gameplay (while is not bad the control over the character, the main problem here is the limitations to only attack with a throwing sword, maybe if the creator had put some others weapons or different forms of swords like in Symphony of the Night (swords like the rune sword) would make this a better a game. Still is very good the 20's decade feeling of horror movies and the art concept.
I knew I recognised this art style from the Dark Dreams RHN game from the same team. Same formula of gorgeous surreal design and atmosphere but underwhelming gameplay and combat. There's so much potential with these games but they just need a little something more to improve the dynamics overall.
This game looks really fun... but the main characters walk looks like they just said something really sassy and are doing a sassy walk to accompany it.
Remember the last century, when the whole world was in black and white? We had to wait until the other colors were invented to make traffic lights. Those were the days...
Zachary Joy my personal headcanon is that Sonia Belmont still was a vampire hunter before bringing Trevor into this world. Maybe the events of her game aren’t canon, but she HAD to have existed
Wait, that was Dracula? That's a pretty strange interpretation, but I'll admit that its original. (At least, his design is. His attack patterns are just Castlevania.)
@@somacruz7759 i completed the game 3 times because my save got corrupted (for an old version of visual boy advance) and the 3rd one i completed the game with all the map and all the souls and 99 level (but this time i completed the bestiary with all the drops ^-^) now i want to do a weird glitch to go to the chaos realm with Julius, but is hard :/
Boy!...To take your time fighting...just for the sake of "No Damage". I would've taken my time as well, but WAY longer. So I, pretty much, attack a little too reckless.
IDK man, Castlevania is a Classic Horror j-rock opera and a challenging but completely fair game. This looks bleak and like most of the challenge is in memorizing enemy moves because you're not dodging any of that stuff if you don't know it's coming.
If you're gonna go through the effort to write out "D: 1896 D means Dracula", you may as well just call it "Dracula 1896" Art style is nice but kinda pretentious.
I like the black and white theme tho.. bgm is quite good as well. But the main character and that sword throwing attack is quite lame. Try watching Alucard in SoTN how he throws the rune blade and heaven sword and learn something there.
Okay, how do I get this to work with controllers? There's absolutely no chance of me beating the first boss using the keyboard, I can't even get past the endless enemy spam to get up to it. Even reaching that part took me an hour and then I ragequit. I really want to like this game, but it's obviously been deliberately designed to control like ass. Probably for thematic reasons, but even so, it's like if Castlevania controlled like Street Fighter the Movie. EDIT: Don't bother, I'm done with this. I was able to get the controller to work with the game, but the first boss is impossible without ridiculous RNG because of the endlessly respawning enemies with random placement and movements. A shame, because I'd really liked to have been able to play all of this, but it takes the piss. I'm fine with gimping the main character for story reasons, but not when faced with endless waves of enemies that don't even have consistent behaviour or HP, and not when your only attack is so hard to control properly. And if there is a save/chapter select menu, then locking it behind a brick hard first boss is just bad manners.
I hate the idea of Dracula being a girl. If seal of the curse and this game ARE in the same timeline, that makes no sense because in seal of the curse Dracula was a boy (just because he was a skeleton that doesn’t mean I can’t read genders) which is super confusing

Yorick like league of legends
The first boss ?
How do you access the secret boss area?
Wait how was that Dracula
wow, the art style really evokes those old silent horror movies.
Especially the music, thrilling
I dearly want to see this refined and expanded upon. Artsy silent-era horror Castlevania has so much potential.

I'm glad the title screen cleared up that the D means Dracula that's was going to keep me up all night.
Because the rest of us plebs would've assumed it meant "dick".
Dracula isn’t in it bruh
Game looks beautiful music and art-wise, but the Animations of the Main Character looks pretty stiff.
Also I'm still not sure she's wearing pants.
@@danielgehring7437 Isn't that good? LOL.
I think they tried to replicate yoko belnades'S animations from castlevania dawn of sorrow yoko is a female character too so I guess that makes sense
Yep yep.
I saw from some other video that main character is an undead revenant. She wakes up in a coffin. Since she is dead, being stiff is normal I guess.

Aside from the truly gorgeous and eerie aesthetics the gameplay is one dimensional and kinda boring
Yeah, and the way the character attacks is wack too.
The atmosphere is perfect, characters and music but the gameplay needs to improve and it can be better than blasfemous

Well made, The Boss music is make really scary.
I love this music
1. Skull & Tower
2. Demon dance
3. Dracula, the duel
4. Alice's triumph
Well made, the music makes it really scarry.
Wow, this game looks so gothic and depressing with less colour and a loud piano play, but i appreciate it as it's a Castlevania like game
Beyond citation, this totally looks like a remaster of Castlevania: the Adventure for Game Boy
Ha
Arek plays my games better than I make them :D Congrats! (I know it wasn't easy.
Nice, alot of the artstyle reminds me of Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark
I was looking for this comment, glad someone else read those books. Did you watch the movie?
@@theinquisitorisamage1653 I haven't actually, grew up reading the books though, the floating skulls the first thing that reminded me of it

I love these tracks only made with piano. Brilliant !

This looks like it was done by the same people who made that other game with the Zdzisław Beksiński art style.
The What Style?
What game was that?
Awesome video :)
I like how the game has o specify that D stands for Dracula and not something else. xD
I wonder if it was intentional levity. Otherwise it's just goofy!
This game is a perfect example of style over substance, yeah, has an beautiful art work but the gameplay for me is kinda boring
What?🤔🤨
That victory fanfare.
Based on old horror movies?
Castlevania didn't do that anymore after SOTN...
I put on Castlevania music while watching this.
Final boss fight works pretty well with Bloody Tears
THE "D" ON THE GRAVE STANDS FOR DRACULA. YES, THAT'S WHAT THE "D" IS FOR, HUH? IT STANDS FOR DRACULA.
well to be honest, people who going around at night sucking other men for they own pleasure is a pretty D'move to me
That's because they didn't have the will of D.
Where do you find these games?
"D means Dracula" WHY THEY DIDNT JUST NAMED DRACULA 1896???

Maybe in reference to Vampire Hunter D? Best guess. It doesn't really invoke the feel of that anime though.
