    People were back on the train because it's the most common transportation the city has. Rent prices are SKY HIGH, how is he battling "inequality"? More and more people are leaving NYC due to the insane cost of living? He is not doing anything to create "affordable housing" in NYC. People who are working from home are still paying the city and state of NY taxes, yet all he speaks about is "returning to the office".

    #1 issue in NYC in my opinion is crazy homeless people all over the place. Maybe that sounds insensitive, but I'm not talking about homeless people in shelters. I'm talkin about literally crazy homeless people that do nothing but harass strangers all day and seemingly have zero consequence ever. It may seem small to someone outside the city, but if you're in the city, it actually impacts your standard of living because you're gonna have a crazy guy scream in your face like twice a month and sometimes people get attacked. You never know if it'll happen to you

      @@BrandonBooks Maybe he should start by loosening up NYC's gun laws since they are so draconian that they're being challenged in the Supreme Court. Hardly any honest citizen can get a carry permit unless they are politically connected. More armed citizens = fewer gun crimes. He should also get rid of the new DA who is soft on crime.

    • @BrandonBooks
      @BrandonBooks 2 года назад

      @@kommisar. I really don’t see the correlation of more guns being on the streets resulting in fewer gun crimes? New York is very densely populated this isn’t Florida or texas. How does making guns easier to obtain in such a densely populated city result in fewer gun crimes?

    • @kommisar.
      @kommisar. 2 года назад

      @@BrandonBooks The same reason more guns in the hands of law-abiding citizens reduces gun crimes everywhere else: When criminals know or think a potential crime victim might be armed, they think twice about committing a crime against that individual. It's a deterrent, the best deterrent of all against crime in fact. Millions of people (outside of law enforcement and military of course) each year use guns to defend themselves against criminals, even if it only means scaring them off. There's a reason mass shootings never happen at gun shows or places where there are a lot of guns, and only happen at places it's well known guns are prohibited, like schools.
      The overall point here is that if you listen to Adams talk about NYC's crime problems, he always blames it on illegal gun possession and never on bad policy. NYC has had a soft on crime approach where criminals are released from jail on little to no bail and given very reduced charges or even not charged at all. This includes for more serious crimes and habitual offenders. A perfect case in point is the guy who burned down the Fox Christmas tree last year had a lengthy criminal record, including not appearing for court appearances in the year prior, and was homeless. Despite those making him a flight risk and despite causing $500K in damages, they reduced the charges down to misdemeanors and that made him ineligible for being forced to pay bail. He was also never charged for exposing himself in front of a courthouse to reporters prior as well. My guess is they went super easy on him despite him being a problem because he's mentally ill and the DA has a soft spot for crazies.
      It's stuff like this where Adams and the NYC Dems refuse to own up to their bad policies. As much as they might condemn stop and frisk, it worked to a large degree and was not racist. Most of the violent crimes happen to occur in black and Hispanic areas. Over 90% of all murders in NYC are committed by blacks and Hispanics, but people like Adams refuse to admit this and believe crime is an equal opportunity activity. Blaming it all on guns and not on bad policies along with social causes, like children growing up in broken homes, is the song and dance of these propagandists. This is why NYC's crime problem is not really getting better and one of many reasons why people are leaving that place. Crime drives down property values, increases the financial strain of the city and physically degrades neighborhoods.

    i enjoyed how he appointed his brother, who has not been an officer in 26 years to a high ranking NYPD position and three days later withdrew due to cries of nepotism. Specifically, "Bernard Adams, who hasn’t served in law enforcement since retiring as a New York Police Department sergeant in 2006, was first supposed to get a deputy commissioner of governmental affairs job in the department, a powerful post that comes with a $240,000 salary and policy-making authority, as reported by the New York Daily News last week.
    However, as the appointment spurred controversy and allegations of nepotism, the mayor shifted gears and instead tapped his brother to become executive director of mayoral security, a City Hall official said Wednesday."
