Basic VFR Air Traffic Control Communication

Learning vfr air traffic control communication can be a little confusing at first but, once you have the basics down it will become second nature. Most students feel a bit apprehensive talking to ATC but, this will subside with practice. Air traffic control is there to help you and keep you safe.

After non flight for 25+ years, the da40 was a joy to fly. I did get reprimanded by ATC prior to T/O for having squeezed the mike button on the stick while exclaiming to my passengers "that's the reason for the TFR" as VP Pence was landing at an airport very close to my departure airport!

Aiming points are a pretty crucial thing that I’m sort of struggling with.
