- This idea for this week's build was combining the old with the new. The West Coast Customs crew hooked up this classic Land Rover Defender. Our client wanted to keep it classy and put a new school spin on this old-school ride. With a custom modern interior and a fresh take on the exterior, this Defender is already turning heads. @The_Browning_ it's not that it doesn't look great its that they use expanding foam but don't show that in the video, the builds they make don't last, the craftsmanship is off, they never show you up close for a reason.

Looks like a pretty basic defender here in the Uk, guess there pretty rare in the us though. wider arches which would have looked better with those wheels
I think the previous generation Defender was only sold in USA from 1993 to 1997.
Older Defender are very scarce in USA.
Totally different situation to the UK

We are so keen to see the finish product in detail, not just how is running via town in dark twilight time, We knew it will run for sure since it has a motor; but the cream of the cake is how have you complete it? how does its looks like a refurbished new Defender? that is what most people are keen to know. I'm surprised you did this with an NAS defender. Those are much rarer and worth much more, even in the US. It would be a lot cheaper to have got a UK spec defender and put a V8 in it.
Completely agree, to convert the rare soft top version to a plain hard top 90 is going in the wrong direction value wise. Love the end result nevertheless

Good to see the client didn’t decide to all out “west coastimize it” madness with some crazy suspension and oversize chromed out spoke rims lights underneath nonsense.. making the truck totally useless.. I know this is very subtle build in the WC world.. But a clean build none the less..
Wish they would have done body work to it. The driver side looked like the surface of the moon.

Leaves me wondering have you ever done a. Land cruiser 300 series manual transmission conversation.
I'm old school, throwing a Defender down muddy lanes and down woodland tracks, dogs in the back, in and out all day and hose it out at the end. I can see how they like to be customised, but if you aren't wearing wellies or muddy boots then why do you need 4wd and diff lock? They just get stolen.
That original rare Defender soft top looked really great. Hard top. So, so...many UK companies like Twisted & Urban have similar LR Defenders. Not my choice. Stick with soft top.

This looks like the old Land Rover or Japanese Jonga.I expected a new version from West costs
The holes on that skid plate are sooo off. Hopefully that wasn't the actual part.
It was... Somehow they missed that none of them were even close to lined up. If you look at 9:37 you can see the dodgy skid plate.

Nice design, but that front skid plate doesn't look substantial enough to weather any hits. Looks like someone just bolted a kitchen tray on to it.

It was shaved door handles On the last build lol now it’s the roof and glass
That skid plate would barely stop gravel, let alone an Immoveable rock…the UK Military Wolf Defender has a 6 mm tempered and reinforced skid plate bolted directly to the ladder chassis nothing gets past those…you didn’t work on any of the chassis weak points, steering and drag links, A arm joints, bushes, suspension…this is purely a beauty Queen…wouldn’t survive 10 minutes in the UK off-road scene - Please do better in future !
