      Got the feeling Magnus didn't want to flag Firouzja out as some kind of gentlemanship. He does that sometimes altough this seems an unlikely situation. It's a bullet 1+0 championship after all.

      No.. he has peaked. Actually underperforming in rapid and classical. 3 years ago he was on a trajection to surpass magnus but didnt

      Both magnus and alireza are gentleman. (Alireza did make some mistakes as a kid when he was younger , but like I said , he was a kid)
      Btw as an iranian I'm very proud of alireza . And I'm also happy he changed his citizenship. Because this mullah dictatorship of Iran treated him like trash and wasted his talents

      Lower the playspeed to 25%, it would still be fast but you can at least get your head around to what's going on

    Am I the only one who thinks Magnus was shaking his hand during the match because he hurt it at 13:05

      He mentioned in the post-match interview that his hand/arm fell asleep and the shaking was to try and give it some feeling. Slamming it probably didn’t help but I guess that wasn’t the root cause

      Sounds like they have two cameras on them based on what Ali Reza said post-game. One of his cams fell on the floor and distracted him, then he dropped a rook. That’s the time he got up from his chair after he lost to put the cam back.

    One thing to not forget, to not take away from Alireza's win is that Magnus's laptop isn't great at bullet which means that it takes him longer to click the pieces. Great match from Alireza and Magnus though. Hope we see this again in the final!!😊

      In Classical and Rapid Magnus is definitely still the greatest we have ever witnessed, but bullet he has his matches in Hikaru and Alireza

      Well he has admitted in interviews that he might have a problem with alcohol, but that was years ago and he ended up quitting for a year because of that since it was affecting his results. His result nowadays overall seem really really good, so I don't know if he's still having issues.

    Bullet chess doesn't prove much in my opinion. If you see positions in 1 second that your opponent would see in two seconds nothing is demonstrated in terms of who is the BETTER chess player. Bullet chess is simply another cultural manifestation of always trying to do everything faster. It seems inescapable in the modern world.

      @@dexio8601 Yeah, who cares right? It's one tournament with a bunch of bullet games when Magnus rarely plays bullet anyway. Magnus has been dominating everything lately. Magnus actually did say the other day that he didn't think he would win the bullet because he's not home playing with his normal mouse and computer though lol. That was before he even played any bullet yet. I doubt it would have mattered that much. Alireza is really playing strong bullet now, plus Magnus isn't out of the tourney yet. People shouldn't need to make excuses when Alireza beats Magnus in bullet. Alireza is just an amazing bullet player, period. I can't wait to see how he does vs HIkaru, but Hikaru is just on another level in that.
