It was a nice Denny's. Lots of memories there. My parents would take us there after Dad got off work late. I would always get the "Moons over my hammy" sandwich.
Back when I was a kid, they used to tell us that devil worshippers hung out down there in the tunnels. I think it was just to make us kids too scared to go in there. I never went in there but I knew some people that did.
Thank you Kayla spotting this one with your good eye. I saw a video recently that Richard shared of a closed Denny's & yes your right is rare these ever close. Thank you for sharing Wallie and Kayla! 🙂
This Denny's is right by where I live - it closed when Covid hit - it no longer is abandoned - it's been renovated and turned into a Hair Salon/Day Spa - the abandoned furniture/appliance store (Conn's) across the street you were going to next, moved across the highway (Loop 820)to a larger building - the former, smaller building is still empty
My friend Ron a Fort Worth businessman has renovated this into Salon & Spa Galleria. He has a well oiled crew that is very adept at renovating abandoned restaurant buildings into salon & spa suites and has renovated many in the Fort Worth area. For several years I met friends here every Sunday for breakfast. Mary and Liz were great waitresses with lots of regulars.
We have a Denny's here in Orange, Tx. About 5 minutes around the corner. Thanks for sharing😷💕 Our local Denny's was updated about a year or two ago. Orange County, Texas has a lot of abandoned restaurants too.
Funny story, there's actually a Denny's near my dad's warehouse and it's been closed down for nearly two years now. Before that, it used to be a Culvers. You wanna know what's weird? A couple of months ago, I saw the exact Denny's sign on some guy's shed. No, I am not making this up.
I love the way you treat Kayla. Can tell you genuinely love her and seems like she makes you pretty happy! Y’all make a great team and make great videos together. Now, y’all need to get a plan in motion and have a kiddo to take along on y’all as adventures!
We have two Denny’s about 3 miles from our home here in the Orem Provo area of Utah and The last time I ate at one was with my late hubby so it brings back memories❤️
There actually used to be a Sambo’s just down the street from this Denny’s. It was at the corner of Pipeline and Precinct, where the O’Reilly’s is now. I still have my little stuffed Sambo tiger from that restaurant.
Another great video Wallie, and great find there Kayla! Keep up the great work guys 👍 Noticing that there’s fewer and fewer Denny’s around, here in the Denver CO area anyway.
This was the last restaurant I ate at with my dad before he passed away in 2018. I was heartbroken when I first saw it closed down. I have so many memories of eating there with my family through the years. I sure would like to know why it closed down just for some closure. As for the lights, it could be that the new owner had them on. It is now a new business but I can’t remember what right now.
In case anyone is confused about the hills reference that Wallie and Kayla made, they are referring to the suburbs South of the city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, such as Dormont, Bethel Park, and Pleasant Hills, which have colloquially been known as the “South Hills” by most Pittsburghers.
I had 2 hills in my home town when I was little and they both changed to Ames in the 90s and now one is a Kroger and the other one is a Burlington coat factory and a big lots
We have a soon to be abandoned one very similar building, the local paper says it's 65 years old...was something else before Denny's but same kind of building. The owner is building a brand new one a quarter mile north for better seating and parking Wilkes-Barre Pennsylvania Denny's is on the move..
Most people that live in DFW are transplants from up north and California so it wouldn’t surprise me one bit if they know Ames are Native Texans are extremely rare.
Most people? I’ve lived in the Fort Worth area my entire life. Most of the people I’ve known and met here are native Texans. I’ve never heard of Ames until this video.
Hey so I’m just curious, have you and Kayla ever gotten stopped by the police while you were filming at a location and been asked why you were there? I know you guys don’t leave any trace of anything except footprints but I was just curious if that had ever happened.

That Denny's was awesome. We were regular customers. A major bummer when it closed because it had just been renovated about 2 years before. 😡

There's a lot of homeless people that hang out in that area. There is the tunnels under North East Mall. Creepy
Back when I was a kid, they used to tell us that devil worshippers hung out down there in the tunnels. I think it was just to make us kids too scared to go in there. I never went in there but I knew some people that did.
Great one Wallie, we have a open Denny’s 40 minutes away from me.
Thank you Kayla spotting this one with your good eye. I saw a video recently that Richard shared of a closed Denny's & yes your right is rare these ever close. Thank you for sharing Wallie and Kayla! 🙂

There’s lights turned on and a ceiling fan too. 🙀
Hey Wallie - Check out the abandoned Denny's in Hermitage, PA. The lease went up relatively recently.
I worked at that Denny’s at that location. I worked all positions. I worked there started in the early 90’s till mid 2020.
Cool, The Denny's here in Asheville closed 3 year's ago, I miss it. Yummy food 😀

I once had Thanksgiving dinner at this location.

I remember when my mom used to work for a hills here in Indiana in the 90s
Does look like an old golden corral lol
that one must justy closed with all those lights on and ceiling fan on
At first glance it looks like what was once a Shoney’s restaurant
It looks like the design of the Quincy Steakhouse chain They were owned by the same firm.
They used to have a chain called Sambo's, this was the general shape of those affiliate stores.
There actually used to be a Sambo’s just down the street from this Denny’s. It was at the corner of Pipeline and Precinct, where the O’Reilly’s is now. I still have my little stuffed Sambo tiger from that restaurant.

Love your videos and I miss Hills. K-Mart too recently :( in my area.
There is a Denny’s about 15 min from me that opened last Fall, and literally just closed permanently.
This was the last restaurant I ate at with my dad before he passed away in 2018. I was heartbroken when I first saw it closed down. I have so many memories of eating there with my family through the years. I sure would like to know why it closed down just for some closure.

Awesome video
Hi, Wallie! Cool video!
This location is in a bad spot hard to get in and out. The one on western center is in a busy area.
There were Ames stores open in Florida from 1988-1992. They opened when Zayre got taken over by Ames. Most of them got taken over by Kmart I believe
Have a couple abandoned Denny's near me! The one I have managed to film like late last year, it literally got taken over by Village Inn for a while!
You should film the Village Inn on 400 W 48th Ave Denver, CO 80216
@@poqou947 TY! Prob be one I check out at some point long as they don't demo it like they tend to do in Colorado! :)
Love it! I've always been a big Dennys fan.
I used to go there with my husband when we lived in North Richland hills 😂

I ate here several times while growing up in this area, from 84-2012
There is my Hills shirt!
Cool video 👍 abandoned location
Almost the exact same set up as the one that closed up the road from me that Richard filmed. Mmm moldy donuts 🍩.
Denny's had Donuts?
Before construction on freeway this was a busy location. Sonic was across the street. Behind it there was a el chico that's now a church
It was Pulidos.. killer texmex !
El Chico is on Hwy 10/Baker Blvd. You must be thinking of Pulido’s.
I had 2 hills in my home town when I was little and they both changed to Ames in the 90s and now one is a Kroger and the other one is a Burlington coat factory and a big lots
Cutting Edge Window Tinting opens October 1st 2020 near NRH!
I like denny's and IHOP

Wilkes-Barre Pennsylvania Denny's is on the move..
That's a bummer, I used to go eat there with my family. Now, no family, no Denny's.
Hey wallieb26 the old rite-aid here in Cleveland TN has been turned into a new business for people to rock climbing and a fitness place also.
Most people that live in DFW are transplants from up north and California so it wouldn’t surprise me one bit if they know Ames are Native Texans are extremely rare.
I've never seen an Ames.
Most people? I’ve lived in the Fort Worth area my entire life. Most of the people I’ve known and met here are native Texans.

Pulidos was right there, and was the best in Hurst when all this was still pretty new.
